Woman forced out of car by armed offenders after robbery in Whangārei

Police are appealing for information about an aggravated robbery in Whangārei on Wednesday, in which two armed men forced a woman out of her car.
Detective Senior Sergeant Michelle Harris said the pair then drove off at high speed, damaging four other cars as they fled.
She said police found the men with help from the public and arrested them at a nearby property.
Officers also seized their weapons.
Members of the public were left shaken after witnessing the robbery, she said.
The men appeared in the Whangārei District Court on Thursday charged with aggravated robbery and demands to steal.
Harris said police wanted to hear from anyone who was at Paramount Plaza, in Tikipunga, between 12.30 and 2pm Wednesday and saw anything that could be connected to the robbery.
Police would also like to see any CCTV or cell phone footage of the incident.
Harris urged anyone with information that could help the investigation to lodge a report online or call 105, quoting file number 250604/4542.

Emergency services were called to the property on Calico Line, between Bredins Line and Nga Tawa Road at 6.10am. The home was well alight when crews arrived and one person was found deceased at the property. Fire teams from Whanganui also attended. A scene guard was put in place and fire investigators were carrying out a scene examination to determine the fire's cause. Three people were taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a home in St Clair, Dunedin, overnight. Fire and Emergency was called to Allandale Road just before 3am on Saturday. When teams arrived the house was fully alight, with 26 crew and eight trucks fighting the fire at its peak. They remain at the scene. The three people taken to hospital had minor injuries. Crews were also at the scene of a house fire in Mahora, Hastings, overnight. Fire and Emergency was called to that blaze just before 2am, crews from Napier also attending. One person was treated for an injury at the scene and an investigator will head there later on Saturday. An investigator will also be heading to the scene of a house fire in Levin. Fire and Emergency was alerted to the blaze at 4.15am. It was now out and there were no reports of injuries. Photo: Supplied / NZ police Police have narrowed down an area of interest in the search for missing Christchurch woman Elisabeth Nicholls. The 79-year-old was last seen at the Chateau on the Park Hotel just before 8pm on 4 June, after from the Margaret Stoddart Retirement Village . Nicholls also has dementia. Officers have a possible sighting of her at the eastern end of Hagley Park, around the Park Terrace and Salisbury/Montreal Street areas around 8:25pm that night. Police are urging anyone in the area to check their properties and to notify officers if they find anything unusual. Police also want people across Christchurch to search their backyards, sheds and sleepouts, and look under anything where a person could seek shelter. Officers would also like people to review any footage they have, especially for people with cameras facing the street from 8.20pm to 10pm on Wednesday, 4 June. Detective Sergeant Luke Vaughan says while she went missing in the Riccarton area, she is physically strong and may have walked some distance.
