Cops arrest three more Jelebu rehab escapees; two still at large
SEREMBAN, June 19 — Police have arrested three of the six trainees who escaped from the Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (Puspen) in Jelebu two days ago.
Jelebu police chief Supt Azizan Said said the three men, two aged 36 and one aged 42, were apprehended along Jalan Kongkoi at around noon today.
'So far, four of the escapees have been caught. We are still tracking down the remaining two, identified as V. Manimaran, 38, whose last known address is in Taman Seri Bernam, Selangor, and K. Mohanarajh, 25, from Taman Bertuah, Perak,' he said in a statement today.
Yesterday, another 35-year-old escapee was arrested within 24 hours of the incident near the Rotan Titi Cane factory in Kongkoi, about five kilometres from the centre.
Police received a report about the escape at around 1am and immediately launched an operation with the assistance of sniffer dogs and personnel from the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) Jelebu.
The case is being investigated under Sections 223 and 224 of the Penal Code. — Bernama

He said these efforts have borne fruit, including the signing of memorandums of understanding between the Malaysian government and China, as well as the Australian federal police. "These agreements cover collaboration in technology, expertise and research, particularly in areas such as facial recognition systems and AI-powered CCTV surveillance, to combat transnational crime," Razarudin said.

Driver nabbed after waving ‘gun' out of car window
A viral video showed the driver waving what looked like a handgun while at an intersection. PETALING JAYA : Police have arrested a driver in Kuching, Sarawak, on suspicion of waving an airsoft gun out of the window of his car while driving the vehicle. Sarawak police chief Mancha Ata confirmed that the suspect had been arrested while an airsoft gun had also been confiscated, The Borneo Post reported. 'The case is under investigation,' he added. Airsoft guns are replica toy guns used for Airsoft sports. A viral video showed the driver waving what looked like a handgun while at an intersection. Cops bust drug ring using rented cars, hotels to avoid detection

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Police have busted a drug trafficking syndicate that used rented cars and hotel rooms for the past nine years to avoid being detected by the cops. Sepang police chief Norhizam Bahaman said a married couple and two men, aged between 27 and 39, were arrested in an operation at 6pm on Wednesday. In addition to seizing various types of drugs, the cops also confiscated two rented cars that they believe the syndicate used for drug trafficking, Bernama reported. 'All four suspects are believed to have been active in drug trafficking activities since 2016, and they are believed to have used rented cars to distribute the drugs. 'They are also believed to have rented hotels as accommodation to avoid being detected by the authorities,' he said, adding that the suspects earned about RM1,600 for each drug delivery. Two of the suspects have criminal records, including for narcotics-related cases, while all three men tested positive for drugs. The woman tested negative.
