The project is based on the personal experiences of Fabienne Servan-Schreiber, one of the show's producers, who was actively involved in helping evacuate Afghans during the U.S. withdrawal. Directed by Kasia Adamik and Olga Chajdas, Kabul is written by Olivier Demangel, Thomas Finkielkraut, and Joe Lavy.
