Realme Neo7 Turbo brings a huge battery and 100W fast charging

GSM Arena29-05-2025

Realme launched a new member of the Neo7 family in China. It comes with a 7,200 mAh battery with 100W wired charging, and its name is Realme Neo7 Turbo.
The phone is quite similar to the Realme GT7 but with the chipset of the Realme GT 7.
Realme Neo7 Turbo comes with a Dimensity 9400e chip by Mediatek, which has one Cortex-X4 core at 3.4 GHz. The 6.8" AMOLED screen offers up to 144 Hz refresh rate and an outstanding 6,500 nits peak brightness.
The phone has a 7,700 sq.mm vapor chamber for cooling, a GT 2.0 Engine that reduces rendering by 30% and keeps power consumption at a reasonable level, and a special connectivity chip that improves Wi-Fi signal and provides an ultra-long-distance connection to the router up to 193 meters.
The battery is 7,200 mAh, the biggest capacity in any Realme smartphone (on par with the Chinese GT7, of course). It can charge from 0 to 50% in 18 minutes, while 0-100% would take 47 minutes with the 100W charger provided in the retail box. The Neo7 Turbo supports bypass charging. Realme GT 7 5G
Realme also certified the Neo7 Turbo against water or dust ingress, and it is now IP66, IP68, and IP69 compliant. Since the phone is not camera-oriented, it has a 50 MP main + 8 MP ultra-wide shooter on the back and a 16 MP selfie snapper at the front.
Realme Neo7 Turbo comes with Realme UI 6.0 and Android 15 underneath. It has a Dynamic Island-type feature called Fluid Cloud 2.0 and some AI features, like removing objects in photos or summarizing texts and audio.
There are two color options: White or Black, with a transparent design that highlights the phone's proficiency in raw performance.
Realme Neo7 Turbo
Realme Neo7 Turbo is available in China with a starting price of CNY 1,999 ($280/€250) for 12/256 GB. The most expensive variant is CNY 2,699 ($375/€330) for 16/512 GB, but we doubt any version whatsoever will be launched outside China.

MediaTek announces the Dimensity 8450 with minor improvements

MediaTek announced the new Dimensity 8450, a direct successor to the Dimensity 8400 released back in December 2024. As the name implies, the upgrades are minimal, and the company introduced mostly under-the-hood changes. Interestingly, there's already a phone running the silicon - the Oppo Reno14 Pro. The Dimensity 8450 is still based on TSMC's second-generation 4nm node with an octa-core CPU with 1x Cortex-X4 core ticking at 3.25 GHz, 3x Cortex-A720 cores running at 3.0 GHz and 4x Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz. The GPU is Mali-G720 MC7 with 7 cores and it's clocked at 1300 MHz. If it sounds familiar, that's because the Dimensity 8400 runs on the same exact hardware. However, the newer chipset boasts gaming and ISP optimizations. The GPU, for instance, now uses the StarSpeed Engine, improving real-world gaming, while the improved ISP has live-stream optimizations. The ISP is capable of handling 320MP sensors with zero-lag HDR imaging. The NPU 880 receives some love too with Agentic AI Engine that allows support for on-device GenAI and LLM workloads. Lastly, the Dimensity 8450's 5G modem gets a new power-saving feature, UltraSave 3.0+, to reduce energy consumption. We should start seeing the chip appear in upper mid-range phones in the following weeks and months. Source

AI+ smartphones' designs and colors officially revealed, launch postponed to July

Last month, we learned that AI+, a smartphone brand part of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, led by Realme India's former CEO Madhav Sheth, will launch its first smartphone by the end of June. This revelation came from Indian online retailer Flipkart, which has now revealed that the smartphones will arrive in July instead. Flipkart also shared images of two smartphones and showed one in five colors. Its back panel has two cameras, with the text on the camera island confirming the primary camera uses a 50MP sensor. AI+ smartphones The second smartphone looks similar to the AI+ Nova 2 5G, whose design was exclusively revealed by us first earlier this month. While Flipkart only showed us this phone in one color, Madhav Sheth shared an image revealing all color options of this model. You can see that the smartphone has a flat design, sports a dual camera setup on the rear, and features a red-accented power key. The communication we received from AI+ says this model has a "lightweight form," supports dual SIMs, and is "designed for fast, responsive performance." The @aiplus_official Smartphone is designed to feel personal — bold colours, clean lines, no compromises. Looks good and keeps your data safe. #AiPlusSmartphone #NxtQuantum #BuiltForYou — Madhav Sheth (@MadhavSheth1) June 20, 2025 AI+ is betting big on the privacy and security aspects of these smartphones and said that its phones will "give users real control over their data, ensure cloud transparency, and enable an experience that is private, auditable, and secure by default." Additionally, AI+ stated that the NxtQuantum OS, running on its smartphones, is "auditable, policy-aligned, and governed by Indian law." The brand also claimed that "all user data is stored within India on MeitY-approved servers hosted by Google Cloud." While AI+ hasn't officially revealed the names of its smartphones, it has confirmed that they will be sold in India exclusively through Flipkart. The brand is also expected to launch a smartwatch with built-in TWS earphones. An image of the smartwatch's retail box, which we exclusively shared earlier this month, revealed that it would be called "wearbuds Watch 3." We were told AI+ would unveil the smartwatch alongside its smartphones.

Oppo Find X9 Pro's telephoto camera detailed

Oppo has already been rumored to be switching things up in the camera department on its upcoming Find X9 Pro, going from two telephotos on its predecessor to a single 200 MP snapper. Today a new rumor out of China details that camera, and reveals that it's not going to be using the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor that's been prevalent in a lot of Chinese flagships lately. Instead, it will be a new sensor, not used before in a periscope telephoto: the Samsung ISOCELL HP5. This is a 1/1.56" type, so it's slightly smaller than the HP9 behemoth. The source of this rumor claims the shot quality at 10x zoom will still be good, implying that past that it won't be, and even adding that this single periscope solution will probably not live up to the dual periscopes of the Find X8 Pro. The Find X9 Pro will also have a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultrawide. It's expected to be powered by the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC. Oppo Find X8 Pro Source (in Chinese) | Via
