Another fantastic year with their under-age teams across the board was further emphasised by double success in the Wexford and District Schoolboys Soccer Under-11 leagues, winning the Division 3 and Division 5 titles with their 'A' and 'B' teams.

A nine-point winning margin was achieved after a strong second-half performance. The victory for Ger Manley's outfit means they head into the final round of fixtures next Saturday against winless Wexford top of Group 1 and in the perfect position to take a semi-final spot. Indication of their squad depth was also highlighted by the unavailability of Hannah Looney and Aoife Healy due to football commitments. However, the hosts didn't get matters entirely their own way having led by three points at the break. Bear in mind too when these teams met in the Munster championship in April Clare lost 2-22 to 0-10. It was evident from the outset the Banner women were up for the challenge and John Carmody's youthful side were competitive. Factor in also, two one-on-one goal opportunities in second-half stoppage time from Róisín Begley and Áine O'Loughlin that were bravely saved by Cork 'keeper Amy Lee. But for now, the visitors will travel home having secured a championship knockout place in Croke Park and that has to be the first box ticked. Their game against Tipperary next weekend will determine whether they finish second or third. They got a tonic start with a green flag inside the opening minute from Jennifer Daly who soloed through from out the field and applied the finishing touches after a mere 45 seconds. The only goal of the day was immediately followed by a Caoimhe Cahill point from play and they were up-and-running. Orlaith Cahalane settled Cork with a fifth minute white flag and they would shoot the next three unanswered points from play. A goal opportunity too came their way but couldn't be taken advantage of. Impressive wing-forward Jennifer Daly raced through for Clare's second point to leave just one between the sides approaching the quarter hour mark, 1-2 to 0-4. Industrious centre-forward Saoirse McCarthy (free) Emma Murphy and Kate Wall stretched the lead. Róisín Begley won a free close to the posts for Aisling Cooney to convert - it remained a single point match with 10 minutes to go to the interval. Sorcha McCartan and Murphy points sent Cork to the dressing-room 0-9 to 1-3 ahead. The defending All-Ireland champions were a different proposition in the second half and reeled off a trio of points from Murphy, McCartan and Amy O'Connor (free) to extend their advantage. Seven-in-a-row points while limiting Clare to a pair of converted frees arrived in a productive 20-minute spell - a Clare team that had emptied the tank in the opening half. Emerging with 10 different scorers, Cork pulled 0-20 to 1-5 clear by the 50th minute despite striking 13 wides to Clare's three overall. Clare did outhit them four-one in the final 10 minutes plus three minutes of stoppage. And had those two late goals been converted the deficit would have been less again. Liza and Faye advance to Leinster Poc Fada decider
After an impressive display of skill and power, it was Faye O'Connell who claimed the Under-16 title with a fantastic score of 27, bringing the honours back to Rathnure. In the adult competition it was a nail-biting finish, with just the puck of a ball separating the top contenders. In the end, Liza Bates of Duffry Rovers emerged victorious with an outstanding score of 25. Both Faye and Lisa will now go on to represent Wexford in the Leinster GAA and camogie Senior and Under-16 Poc Fada finals, taking place on Saturday, June 28 on Mount Leinster, Carlow.

Super Wexford clay shooters hit the target with outstanding set of results at Leinster championship
Across two competitive days, Wexford's shooters captured both team and individual titles, reinforcing the county's reputation as a powerhouse in the sport. Saturday saw unsettled weather and testing conditions, but that didn't deter the Wexford Senior team, who were crowned Leinster champions with an impressive team score of 470 x 500. They finished ahead of Westmeath (457) and Meath (452) on a cleverly designed eight-stand course that featured new wooded sections and a raised platform. Individual highlights included: Seán Rigley (Newbay CPC), High Gun with a perfect 50 x 50; Niamh Murphy (Ferns), ladies' champion; Angela Foley (Newbay CPC), third place, ladies' competition; Robert Civciss (Ballymoney), Under-21 champion and Trainee champion; Glenn Carley (Newbay CPC), second in Under-21 with a score of 43 x 50. Sunday brought much-improved weather and the spotlight turned to Wexford's county club team, Ballymoney, who qualified by winning the recent Wexford Clay league. The team shone brightly in the sun, posting 231 x 250 to retain their Leinster title. Notable scores included: Don McKay – 49 x 50, placing second overall; Callum Scanlon, winner of the Extreme Target competition. In individual events, Gerry Lynch delivered a strong performance to be crowned Super Veteran champion with a 44 x 50, competing in the dedicated Super Veterans category. Wexford also fielded solid teams in the Veteran, Super Veteran, and Side-by-Side events, showing consistent strength across the board. The weekend's results once again demonstrate the depth of shooting talent in Wexford. With five Wexford shooters selected to represent Ireland at the upcoming World English Sporting Championships, the county will have strong representation on the global stage. The World Championships take place from July 12–19 at the prestigious E.J. Churchill Shooting Grounds in the UK. Wexford shooters will go head-to-head with the world's best, in what promises to be a major opportunity for Irish talent to shine internationally. Local supporters can look forward to full coverage from the event. Before that, Wexford's attention turns to the NARGC All-Ireland Clay competition, taking place in Esker on June 28 and 29, where the county will aim to bring home even more silverware.
