Israel claims it targeted gunmen who attacked Druze civilians in Syria following deadly unrest
Ammon News - Israel's military chief announced that Israeli forces struck individuals who had targeted members of the Druze community near Damascus, following violent sectarian clashes that reportedly left over 40 people dead.Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir said he had ordered the military to be ready to strike Syrian government positions if assaults against the Druze minority persisted.A BBC team in the area observed airstrikes near the predominantly Druze towns of Ashrafiyat Sahnaya and neighbouring Sahnaya, accompanied by intermittent but intense gunfire.Syrian authorities later stated that they had carried out a security operation in the area to restore order after 'outlaw groups' killed 16 Syrian personnel.According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), six Druze fighters were also killed in the conflict. The group reported that three other Druze were shot by Syrian security forces while attempting to drive from Suweida province to Ashrafiyat Sahnaya. The Israeli military confirmed that three injured Druze individuals were transported to a hospital in northern Israel for treatment on Wednesday evening.Earlier in the week, at least 17 more people reportedly died in confrontations involving Druze fighters, government forces, and pro-regime militias in Jaramana, a predominantly Druze suburb east of Damascus. Calm was eventually restored, SOHR noted.
The outbreak of violence was triggered by the circulation of an audio recording online, in which a man allegedly insulted the Prophet Muhammad. Sunni Muslims were outraged, although the Druze cleric to whom the voice was attributed denied involvement. A preliminary investigation by the interior ministry reportedly cleared him of wrongdoing.

9 days of war: Iran, Israel launch new attacks after Tehran rules out nuclear talks
Ammon News - Iran and Israel exchanged fresh attacks early on Saturday, a day after Tehran said it would not negotiate over its nuclear programme while under threat and Europe tried to keep peace talks alive. Iran's Fars news agency said Israel had targeted the Isfahan nuclear facility, one of the nation's biggest, but there was no leakage of hazardous materials. Iranian media also said Israel had attacked a building in the city of Qom, with initial reports of a 16-year-old killed and two people injured. The Israeli military said it had launched a wave of attacks against missile storage and launch infrastructure sites in Iran. Shortly after 2:30 a.m. in Israel (2330 GMT on Friday), the Israeli military warned of an incoming missile barrage from Iran, triggering air raid sirens across parts of central Israel, including Tel Aviv, as well as in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Interceptions were visible in the sky over Tel Aviv, with explosions echoing across the metropolitan area as Israel's air defence systems responded. An Israeli military official said Iran had fired five ballistic missiles and that there were no immediate indications of any missile impacts. There were no initial reports of casualties in Israel. Its air attacks have killed 639 people in Iran. The dead include the military's top echelon and nuclear scientists.

Oil prices settle lower as US sanctions ease fears of escalation in Iran
Ammon News - Oil prices settled down on Friday as the U.S. imposed new Iran-related sanctions, marking a diplomatic approach that fed hopes of a negotiated agreement, a day after President Donald Trump said he might take two weeks to decide U.S. involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict. Brent crude futures settled down $1.84, or 2.33%, to $77.01 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude for July - which did not settle on Thursday as it was a U.S. holiday and expires on Friday - was down 21 cents, or 0.28%, at $74.93. The more liquid August contract settled at $73.84. Brent rose 3.6% on the week, while front-month U.S. crude futures increased 2.7%. The Trump administration issued fresh Iran-related sanctions, including on two entities based in Hong Kong, and counter-terrorism-related sanctions, according to a notice posted to the U.S. Treasury Department website. Oil prices jumped almost 3% on Thursday after Israel bombed nuclear targets in Iran, while Iran - OPEC's third-largest producer - fired missiles and drones at Israel. Neither side showed any sign of backing down in the week-old war. Reuters

'Israel' claims killing Hamas' finance chief
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) claimed Friday that it killed the Director of Finance in Hamas' military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, and the aide to deputy commander of the military wing, Marwan Issa, who was also killed by an 'Israeli' airstrike earlier last year. The statement said he was killed on Tuesday, June 17, in the central Gaza Strip. 'Abu Shumala was responsible for all of the Hamas' military wing' finances in the Gaza Strip…he planned and oversaw the military wing's budget during the war and implemented it,' the IOF statement claimed.
