Tommy Fleetwood denied first PGA Tour win on last hole at Travelers Championship
Tommy Fleetwood suffered a heart-breaking one-shot defeat at the final hole of the Travelers Championship in Connecticut as American Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley denied the Englishman a maiden PGA Tour victory.
Fleetwood had been defending a three-shot lead following his flawless 63 on Saturday, sitting at 16 under par ahead of Bradley and Russell Henley.
However, a couple of early bogeys threatened to derail his bid to end his record of the most top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour since 1983 without claiming a title.

The 34-year-old, though, steadied himself around the turn to edge back ahead of Bradley with birdies at the 11th and 13th.
Having found a path on the right of the 15th before going on to save par, Fleetwood looked to be on course once again – only to drop another shot at the 16th.
Fleetwood then came up short of the green with his second shot on the 18th.
Spurred on by a partisan home crowd, Bradley promptly sent his follow-up to within a few feet.
Fleetwood's birdie attempt fell short just behind Bradley's marker, with the Englishman then missing his par putt, having to settle for a bogey and a two-over final round.

The American – who could yet qualify as a playing captain at Bethpage Black in September – then nervelessly rolled in a birdie to finish at 15 under, sparking wild celebrations around the 18th green.
'I feel like from where I was, I should at least be in a play-off,' Fleetwood said.
'I didn't really feel like I hit that many bad shots execution-wise, just sort of a couple of bad decisions and didn't clean 'em up, which is pretty poor and things that I have to work on.'
Fleetwood added: 'I haven't been in this situation for a while. When it sort of calms down – I am upset now, I am angry – but when it calms down, I will look at the things that I did well and look at the things that I can learn from.
'I did plenty of things well enough this week to win, but I didn't do that and it hurts.'

Henley chipped in from the edge of the green on the 18th to secure a tie for second with Fleetwood at 14 under.
Harris English and Australian Jason Day finished at 13 under in a tie for fourth.
World number one Scottie Scheffler and Masters champion Rory McIlroy both shot five-under-par final rounds to get to 12 under and finish in a share of sixth place.
Newly-crowned US Open champion JJ Spaun had the best round of the day, starting off at the 10th, as he carded a seven-under 63 to climb up into the top 15.
Viktor Hovland had earlier withdrawn on the third hole of his final round because of a neck injury.

Training legend D Wayne Lukas retires due to illness
Veteran American trainer D Wayne Lukas has been forced to retire due to ill health. Lukas, 89, has reportedly turned down an aggressive treatment plan having been suffering from an infection and is due to leave hospital and return home to his family. His long-serving assistant, Englishman Sebastian 'Bas' Nicholl will take over the running of his stable. "Wayne is one of the greatest competitors and most important figures in thoroughbred racing history," said Mike Anderson, president of Churchill Downs said on Churchill Downs' official website. "He transcended the sport of horse racing and took the industry to new levels. The lasting impact of his character and wisdom – from his acute horsemanship to his unmatched attention to detail – will be truly missed. The enormity of this news is immense, and our prayers are with his family and friends around the world during this difficult time." Lukas, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999, has won the Kentucky Derby four times, among his 15 Triple Crown race wins, and has 20 victories at the Breeders' Cup, a record matched only by Aidan O'Brien. Lukas trained his last winner on 12 June at Churchill Downs when Tour Player was successful. His first thoroughbred success came in October 1977. Nicholl, a former tank commander in the British Army, said: "Wayne built a legacy that will never be matched. Every decision I make, every horse I saddle, I'll hear his voice in the back of my mind. This isn't about filling his shoes – no one can – it's about honouring everything that he's built."

Crystal Palace's European prospects improve after major shareholder sells stake
CRYSTAL PALACE'S HOPES of playing in Europe next season appear to have been boosted after shareholder John Textor sold his stake in the club. Textor's shares in Palace threatened to be an obstacle to their participation in the Europa League next season because the American is also a shareholder in French side Lyon, who are set to enter the same competition. It looked as though Palace would miss out due to the same Uefa multi-club ownership rules that cost Drogheda United their place in the Europa Conference League. Advertisement However, it's understood that Textor's 45% stake in the London club has now been sold to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson. Reports have placed the price between €187 million and €222m (£160-£190m). The sale is subject to Premier League approval, but may now free Palace up to play in the Europa League. The Eagles qualified thanks to their FA Cup final victory over Manchester City last month. Textor, who through his Eagle Football Holdings group also owns a significant stake in Brazilian side Botafogo, initially invested in Palace in 2021. Palace declined to comment. Eagle Football Holdings and Uefa have both been approached for comment. It's understood a decision regarding Palace's participation is expected from Uefa before the end of June.
