Isle of Man TT course lap record holder Peter Hickman targets a first North West Superbike win to add to the two Superstock wins he has achieved so far and his 2024 Supertwins double.The 38-year-old returns to the international meeting with a fleet of machines which include 8Ten Racing BMWs for the big bike classes.The Lincolnshire rider's career to date includes finishing in the top six in the overall British Superbike standings on four occasions.He has 14 TT wins to his name, including three in the Superbike race and three in the Senior.Hickman is also a four-time winner of the Macau Grand Prix and secured a record seven wins at the most recent running of the Ulster Grand Prix in 2019, when he also set the course lap record.Hickman has stood on the podium 10 times already at the North West, holds the Supersport lap record and his best lap speed of 124.799mph sees him sit fourth in the all-time list of fastest laps.He is again contending the British Superbike Championship in 2025.

Irwin assessed in hospital after practice crash
Glenn Irwin has been taken to hospital for assessment after crashing during a free practice session at the third round of the British Superbike Championship at Snetterton on Northern Ireland rider came off his Hager PBM Ducati at Turn Nine during FP3 and the session was subsequently 35-year-old missed qualifying as his injuries were assessed.A statement released by the race organisers before Saturday's qualifying explained Irwin's absence."Glenn Irwin was taken to the circuit medical centre after a crash in Free Practice 3," the statement read."Following x-rays on his hip and right leg at the medical centre where nothing was visible, he has been taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further scans and is unfit for Qualifying. Further updates will follow when available."The opening British Superbike race of the weekend will take place at 16:00 BST, with two further races scheduled for Ray secured pole position in qualifying, from defending BSB champion Kyle Ryde second and Rory Skinner leads the series standings on 86 points after the opening two rounds at Oulton Park and Donington, with Irwin 12 adrift on 74 and Ryde third on has secured four podium finishes from the first five races of the season.

Isle of Man TT crash 'wasn't my fault'
Peter Hickman has revealed that his high-speed crash at the Isle of Man TT, in which he suffered multiple fractures, was caused by a component 14-time TT winner crashed at the Kerrowmoar section of the Mountain Course while taking part in a qualifying session for the event, held on closed public roads, on the evening of Friday, 30 38-year-old was flown to Noble's Hospital on the island by Airmed helicopter after the incident, where he was treated for his injuries, before being who holds the absolute lap record for the 37.73-mile circuit, sustained chest, back, shoulder and facial injuries in the crash."I've broken my left collarbone, my left scapula and my shoulder blade down the back is in three pieces. I broke three ribs and four vertebrae in my back so not ideal," explained Hickman in a video posted on his Facebook page."Unfortunately, it was a component failure [which caused the crash] so it wasn't actually my fault."It was some bracketry that holds the exhaust in place. It didn't come loose, it broke in theory, and pushed the exhaust into the rear wheel and popped the rear tyre. That was why I crashed."Hickman was riding his Superstock BMW machine for the 8TEN Racing team he recently formed with fellow racer Davey Todd when he crashed."I'm pretty battered and bruised all over the place but I just want to say a massive thanks to the medics and the marshals that looked after me at the time. They did a fantastic job."I don't remember much about it because I was knocked out."I don't remember the lap leading up to it and the first time I properly woke up, I woke up in hospital, so that was a bit of a new experience for me in my 25-year career. I've never been knocked out before."Hickman has been a regular competitor at the TT since making his debut at the races in 2014."I've been going to the Isle of Man TT for 10 years and this is the first major problem that I've had," he said.

Isle of Man TT star among big names in the field for return of Tandragee 100
The popular Co Armagh meeting is a favourite for competitors, with the spectacular 5.3-mile course often referred to as the 'Mini TT'. Crucial resurfacing work has now been carried out, which had prevented the famous race from taking place in 2023 and 2024. Event co-ordinator and former Clerk of the Course Anne Forsythe said: 'After two long years of not being able to host the event due to a delay in getting resurfacing work carried out, we are thrilled to be celebrating 61 years of the Around A Pound Tandragee 100 Motorcycle Road Races. 'We would like to thank the then Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd, for committing the necessary funds in 2024/25 and all those councillors, MPs and MLAs who supported us in this venture. 'A special mention also to Ian Milne for assisting us over the three years it took to get this across the line.' Traditionally held in May, the event has been moved to a new June date, with practice and qualifying taking place on Friday, June 27 and the main race day on Saturday, June 28. Isle of Man TT star Conor Cummins is among the standout names on the entry list with Dungannon's Burrows Engineering/RK Racing Team. The Ramsey man claimed a best result of fifth in the second Superstock race at the TT last week with a fastest lap of 131.528mph on the BMW M1000RR, which was the quickest ever by a rider for John Burrows' team. Cummins raced at Tandragee once before, making his debut in 2007 on Yamaha machinery for the JMF Millsport Racing team. Another leading contender is fellow TT rider Shaun Anderson, who is a member of the organising North Armagh Club. Anderson was fortunate to escape injury after a crash in the Superbike TT race at Joey's, which left him with cuts and bruises. The Banbridge man – a Mountain Course winner in 2024 in the Senior Classic Manx Grand Prix race – will be a key protagonist at Tandragee. Skerries rider Michael Sweeney is not listed on the official press release but recently expressed a desire to return to Tandragee. The Republic of Ireland rider achieved a lifetime dream of finishing on the podium in May at the North West 200 on his Aprilia Supertwin machine and would be the rider to beat if he arrives in the paddock. The line-up also includes former Senior Manx Grand Prix winners Joe Yeardsley and Daniel Ingham, plus Ballymoney's Darryl Tweed – also a past MGP winner – and the Isle of Man's Marcus Simpson, who was the runner-up behind Yeardsley in the 2023 Senior race at the Manx. Newcomer Amalric Blanc from France adds international flavour to the grid and is fresh from an impressive 12th place in the opening Superstock race at the TT on his 1000cc Honda. Ballymena's Neil Kernohan and Ryan Whitehall from the Isle of Wight will be out to make their mark at Tandragee, while Andy Farrell, Liam and James Chawke are among a large contingent of competitors from the Republic of Ireland. Derek McGee, a double winner at the Cookstown 100 in April, is set to miss out through injury after he was caught up in a crash during the opening round of the International Road Racing Championship (IRRC) at Hengelo in the Netherlands in May. A total of 113 competitors and 50 newcomers have entered this year's race, which has an increased prize fund of £13,000. Roads will close on Friday, June 27 for practice from 11.00am-9.00pm and on Saturday, June 28 for racing from 9.30am-7.00pm.
