Myles Smith 'was caught off-guard' by recognition
Myles Smith "never imagined" being named on Time 100's list of most influential people.
The 26-year-old star has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last year, and Myles has admitted to being caught "off-guard" when he was named alongside the likes of Serena Williams and Mark Zuckerberg on the prestigious Time 100 list.
He told the BBC: "That one caught me off guard. I never imagined I'd end up in it. It's mad.
"I think I just felt really grateful, you know? To be recognised on that level for doing something I love."
Myles' 2024 single, 'Stargazing', has already been streamed more than one billion times, and he's been amazed by the song's success.
He said: "You always hope people connect with a song, but 'Stargazing' just seemed to take on a life of its own."
Asked why the single has become so popular, Myles replied: "I think it's the honesty in it - everyone's either been through heartbreak or held on to hope when they probably shouldn't have.
"It's simple, but it's real. And I think people felt that."
Myles is determined to achieve sustained success.
The singer has previously been described as an overnight success - but Myles doesn't look at his career in that way.
He recently told The Independent: "I wish it was as magical as an overnight switch, but it didn't feel quick. For me, I'm 15 years in."
Myles isn't motivated by short-term success. Instead, he wants to achieve longevity within the music business.
He shared: "So many decisions that I've made have been because I didn't want it to be one song and done, or one song followed by capitalising with every single opportunity to make money.
"I've made some really bad financial decisions and turned down really great opportunities because I don't want to just disappear overnight."
Myles believes aspiring musicians should always have some kind of fallback career options.
The 'Solo' hitmaker actually likened the life of an aspiring musician to that of an up-and-coming soccer player.
The award-winning star reflected: "You have people playing literally their entire lives and they're great and then at 17, they're dropped because of an injury – and then what happens?
"I know others say differently, but I think going down the education route is so wise before getting into this world because it will save you half the problems that I see a lot of artists get themselves into."

He explained: "The last time Lou Reed spoke in public, he said: 'I want to blow it all up,' because he was still a punk at heart. And if you can embrace that spirit, it keeps you in a fluid, changeable state that's more important than having some fixed place where you belong. So, I do try to carry those values and keep that kind of faith. "Not that my work is truly revolutionary or radical. I mean, I'm not smashing things to pieces. I value the popular audience. I believe in popular entertainment. I want to push the boat out, but take the popular audience with me." Asked if his approach is contradictory, Danny replied: "Yeah, of course it is. But I've found a way to resolve it – in my own mind, at least."

Amy Poehler admits to starring in 'inappropriate' sketches
Amy Poehler has appeared in some "inappropriate" sketches on Saturday Night Live. The 53-year-old actress starred on the hit comedy show between 2001 and 2008 - but Amy now acknowledges that some of her sketches haven't aged well. During an appearance on the Good Hang podcast, Will Forte - Amy's former co-star - explained: "There are so many things I look back now and I go — you think, 'Oh, it's all about getting a laugh.'" Meanwhile, Amy previously admitted that she struggles to be funny in a "dysfunctional" environment. The actress has very fond memories of her time on Saturday Night Live and that's created a blueprint for her entire career. Amy - who also starred in the hit TV sitcom Parks and Recreation - told The Independent: "You do not need to have a chaotic or dysfunctional work environment to be funny or to be creative. "I don't do great with people who want to fracture that feeling. "I either get really defensive or really protective - I've got my stuff to work on. But I think once you prove that it works, it's pretty hard to go back. "I've sometimes gone to other places and I'm like, 'Babe, it does not have to be this way - I've seen the other side, we don't need to kill each other to make great stuff.'"

Gina Gershon almost broke Tom Cruise's nose when he tickled her during a love scene. The 63-year-old actress appeared opposite the Top Gun star in 1988 movie Cocktail and she's revealed she accidentally kicked him in the face and left him covered in blood while they were filming a romantic scene in bed together. She told the Guardian newspaper: "I almost broke his nose. I had never done a love scene before and it was going to be with Tom Cruise. I thought: God, I get paid for this. He was so cute. I had a crush on him immediately. He was very protective and very much a gentleman, saying: 'Let's keep you covered.' He was very concerned ... "I'd told him I was very ticklish, because he had started to tickle me earlier. I said: 'Just don't do that. I lose control because I was tortured as a child by my brother'. "Right before the take, he was down there and grabbed my waist in a tickly, sweet manner. I didn't mean to, but I had a kneejerk reaction right into his nose. "It was full of blood. I thought: I just broke Tom Cruise's nose." Gershon admits she felt terrible about the accident and feared she'd never work in Hollywood again - but Cruise was very "kind" and "sweet". She added: " I [thought I] will never work in Hollywood again. I was mortified because I really kicked him good. I didn't mean to. "He said: 'Nope. My bad. You warned me.' I remember thinking: this guy is a movie star. He deserves everything he gets. "He was just so kind and so sweet with me in a situation where I was quite vulnerable." Gershon also starred in 1995 erotic drama Showgirls and she previously admitted she was terrified for her career after the movie bombed at the box office. She told The Independent newspaper: "I realised I have a lot of PTSD around that movie ... They were like, this is gonna be huge – but I knew it was going to be a disaster. "I was always happy with my work in it, but I knew that it was not going to be what people thought it would be. And I was scared, so I just told my agents, 'Get me another job before Showgirls comes out. I need to show that I really am an actress'." However, she's pleased the film - which follows a woman who hitchhikes to Las Vegas to pursue her dreams of being a showgirl - is being seen in a new light these days. She added: "Showgirls was shunned, but now it's 30 years later, and screenings of it are selling out, and people love it."
