Police collects RM598,970 in summons at Raya discount event

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM598,970 in summons collections was successfully recorded during the discount initiative held at the police Hari Raya celebration at Titiwangsa Stadium last Monday.
Bukit Aman Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said 950 individuals settled 5,362 summonses during the event.
"We also welcome Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution's proposal to expand the use of MyDigital ID in traffic summons payments," he said when contacted by Harian Metro today.
Previously, it was reported that police supported the government's suggestion for MyDigital ID integration for summons payments.
Saifuddin said although usage of the application is not compulsory, it aligns with national digitalisation policy and is encouraged.
He added that the government has agreed to amend the National Registration Act 1959 to facilitate the broader adoption of MyDigital ID.

The two individuals involved, Mohammed Farik Amin, 49, and Mohammed Nazir Lep, 48, are currently undergoing a comprehensive rehabilitation process that includes social support services, welfare assistance, and health screening before being reunited with their families. Saifuddin said it was crucial for the country to have a capable IGP, such as the 14th IGP Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, who played a key role in the repatriation of the two men. He praised Razarudin's composure when engaging with various US agencies, including the CIA and FBI, in resolving the matter. Meanwhile, Saifuddin stressed that the appointment of an IGP was not an award but a responsibility and burden that must be shouldered with full accountability. He said this was because the IGP was not only accountable to the nation but also to the entire police force under his leadership. Earlier at the ceremony, Bukit Aman Special Branch director Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail was officially appointed as the 15th IGP, succeeding Razarudin, effective today. KOTA KINABALU, June 21 — Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail heads a list of 1,015 recipients of state honours in conjunction with the 74th official birthday of the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman. Saifuddin Nasution was conferred the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK), which carries the title 'Datuk Seri Panglima'. Also receiving the SPDK were Sabah Rural Development Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim, as well as businessmen Datuk Ahmad Fuad Md Ali and Datuk Lim Yu Ming. Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Deputy Minister Dr Fuziah Salleh and Tourism, Arts and Culture Deputy Minister Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan were among the 78 recipients of the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) award, which carries the title of 'Datuk'. Other PGDK recipients include Senator Anna Bell @ Suzieana Perian, Labuan MP Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman, Kapayan assemblyman Jannie Lasimbang, and Pantai Manis assemblyman Mohd Tamin Zainal.
