Alleged drug dealer nabbed following tip-off
In a dramatic arrest, police in the Fezile Dabi district arrested a 38-yearold.
This comes after police acted upon intelligence information about a suspect selling drugs in the area.
When police ambushed the dealer, he tried to flee the scene but was later apprehended. Fezile Dabi police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani confirmed the arrest.
'On June 11, our officers arrested a suspect for possession of drugs. This follows a tip-off on Tuesday about the said dealer, who is now behind bars.'
'During the search, the suspect was found in possession of nine packets of crystal meth and six brown tablets (Mandrax),' said Rani.
The police mouthpiece said the suspect was arrested and charged with possession of drugs, and the drugs were confiscated.
'The suspect appeared before the Parys Magistrate's Court soon on charges of possession of drugs,' she said.

The Ezakheni Regional Court sentenced Ayanda Snothi Zwane (35) to life imprisonment for the murder of his son (6) in June last year. BREAKING NEWS: Man narrowly escapes death after shooting in Dundee
Dundee – A 40-year-old man narrowly escaped death after his vehicle was shot at multiple times on Friday evening, June 20. According to Dundee SAPS spokesperson, Constable Siyabonga Nkwanyana, the victim arrived at the Dundee police station to report the incident He explained that while driving alone, unknown suspects opened fire on him at the corner of Union and Ann Street. 'The man managed to flee the scene and drove directly to the police station for assistance. A preliminary inspection of his vehicle revealed several bullet holes,' said Nkwanyana. 11-year-old girl and her elder sibling shot near Hazyview An 11-year-old girl and her sister, aged 21, are fighting for their lives in a hospital after they were shot while sleeping in a room. The incident happened in Hlangalezwe Trust near Hazyview today (Friday, June 20) at about 02:00. The elder victim was asleep next to her mother in the same bed, while the little girl and her brother were sleeping on the floor in the same room. Two bullets hit the elder sister on her upper body and one bullet hit the younger one on the lower body,' said Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Jabu Ndubane. 'After the gunshots were fired the victims heard footsteps of a person running away,' added Ndubane. The victims were rushed to hospital where they are currently receiving medical attention. The police have opened two cases of attempted murder.
