KUWAIT: National Bank of Kuwait announced achieving an exceptional digital performance during the first quarter of 2025, as NBK Online recorded more than 1.2 million visits and more than 2 million views, reaffirming its leadership in providing innovative and smooth digital experiences. This noticeable growth reflects NBK's continuous commitment to developing its digital platforms and providing a convenient, safe, and informative digital banking experience, and it echoes the growing customer trust and reliance on digital platforms for their banking needs.
The rise in online visits is explained by the rising demand for NBK's digital services, in addition to the latest updates to the website and its features, as it provides smooth access to the bank's products and a wide range of services. Moreover, NBK Online is an essential gateway through which customers can access products, apply for services, and stay constantly informed about financial solutions and market updates. The Bank has recently developed browsing and enhanced NBK Mobile Banking App by adding new services and making new content to enhance customer interaction and ease of use.
The developments on the website services included the rewards center and offers, which targets better browsing of hundreds of offers for current customers, in addition to enhancing customer-product interaction and increasing visits. On this occasion, Abdul-Mohsen Al-Rushaid, Senior Vice President -Head of Digital Communications at NBK said: 'Our NBK Online performance during 1Q25 is proof of our strategic investments in our digital infrastructure and our constant focus on providing our customers with the best digital experience. PAHW delivers over 44,000 services in May; projects exceed targets
KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) announced on Thursday that its Citizen Services Department delivered a total of 44,289 services during the month of May, with 24,847 services processed via the authority's electronic platforms and the 'Sahel' unified government application. Additionally, 17,397 inquiries were handled through telephone and chatbot systems, while 2,045 services were provided through in-person reception centers. Deputy Director General for Public Relations and Development Affairs and official PAHW spokesperson Omar Al-Ruwaih reviewed the Authority's operational achievements in May, highlighting notable progress in several housing and infrastructure projects. He revealed that the completion rates for three infrastructure contracts and a main roads contract in the South Sabah Al-Ahmad project have significantly surpassed contractual expectations. The main roads contract in the area has reached 50.82 percent completion, exceeding the contractual rate by 6.15 percent. Meanwhile, the first infrastructure contract, which serves 7,623 plots, recorded a completion rate of 9.84 percent. The second infrastructure contract, covering 6,189 plots, achieved a 15.78 percent completion rate—8.56 percent above the target—while the third contract posted a 5.48 percent completion rate. Regarding the affordable housing initiative, Al-Ruwaih stated that the Authority has commenced work on six contracts, four of which are currently in the preparatory phase. The first contract, which includes the construction of 1,568 houses, has achieved a 5.44 percent progress rate, ahead of schedule. Similarly, the second contract has recorded a 3.4 percent completion rate. In South Saad Al-Abdullah City, Al-Ruwaih noted that three infrastructure contracts have entered the preparatory phase, covering work on 23,551 plots. The main roads contract for this area has reached a completion rate of 35.88 percent, outperforming the contractual benchmark by 21.4 percent. On the status of public building projects, Al-Ruwaih confirmed that the Authority is currently overseeing the implementation of 217 public buildings across seven major projects. These include 92 buildings under construction in Mutlaa City, 74 in the affordable housing project, 31 in South Abdullah Al-Mubarak City, 17 in Sabah Al-Ahmad City, and one building each in Jaber Al-Ahmad City, Saad Al-Abdullah City, and South Khaitan. Al-Ruwaih also revealed that PAHW signed four consultancy contracts last month. These include a contract for managing and supervising infrastructure works for 7,623 plots in suburbs N5, N7, N9, and N10 in the South Sabah Al-Ahmad project. Additional contracts were signed for infrastructure works covering 6,189 units in suburbs N4, N6, and N8, as well as 6,568 units in suburbs N1, N2, N3, and N11 of the same project. A separate contract was signed for the supervision of roadworks and infrastructure in the South Saad Al-Abdullah City residential project. RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, June 19: Kuwait University (KU), represented by its College of Graduate Studies, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday with the Saudi Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC), aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in key academic and quality assurance fields. Speaking on the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Acting Dean of the College of Graduate Studies Dr. Ahmad Al-Mikhyal said the MoU seeks to strengthen collaboration in areas such as quality assurance, academic accreditation, and the sharing of institutional knowledge. Dr. Al-Mikhyal noted that the agreement will facilitate joint efforts in the development of educational programs, benefiting from mutual experience in measurement, evaluation, and university admission testing. It also includes provisions for organizing joint workshops and training sessions. Govt engages water producers, moves to secure strategic stocks
KUWAIT: Kuwait's Ministry of Commerce and Industry is intensifying its oversight of essential goods and reinforcing emergency preparedness for strategic supplies, as part of a broader government effort to safeguard domestic stability amid mounting regional tensions following the ongoing conflict between the Zionist entity and Iran. Commerce and Industry Minister Khalifa Al-Ajeel held a meeting on Tuesday with representatives of local bottled water producers to assess market conditions and ensure continued coordination to meet consumer demand. The meeting comes as several Gulf states enhance their readiness in light of the rapidly evolving regional situation, now in its sixth day of open hostilities. During the meeting, Minister Al-Ajeel emphasized the government's full support for local producers and its commitment to removing any operational obstacles. He also issued a firm warning against any attempts to manipulate prices. 'The ministry will continue to monitor markets and will not tolerate any violations,' Al-Ajeel said, thanking manufacturers for their cooperation during previous crises and recognizing their national responsibility in supporting market stability. PAI Acting Director General Jarallah Al-Dosari said the meeting, held under Minister Al-Ajeel's direction, discussed precautionary measures in response to the 'rapidly evolving regional developments.' He noted that efforts are already underway to protect facilities and staff, and stressed the importance of cross-agency coordination to respond to any potential emergency.
