Multi-Influence Ground Mine (MIGM): Now the Pakistan Navy will have to think a hundred times before entering Indian waters. This is being said because DRDO and Indian Navy have successfully tested the Multi-Influence Ground Mine which is an advanced underwater naval mine system. It has been developed jointly by the Naval Science and Technology Lab and DRDO Lab located in Visakhapatnam. This new mine will greatly increase the strength of the Indian Navy. Be it any stealth ship or submarine of the enemy, no one will be able to escape from this mine.
What is a multi-influence ground mine?

The work of laying mines in the sea is decades old. Different types of mines have been used by the Indian Navy till now. But now the features of different mines are being combined in one mine. For example, it works on 3 types of sensor input technology. It works according to magnetic, acoustic and pressure. According to pressure technology, the mine floats in water under a normal pressure. But if a ship or a submarine passes near that mine field, then the water pressure on the mine changes or increases. The sensors immediately detect this change and the mine blasts. The second technology is magnetic influence, in which it recognizes the movements of metal inside the water. The third is acoustic influence, that is, the sensors of this mine detect and track the sound and vibration caused by it. If the mine is set to a specific sound wave or vibration and the sound coming from the propeller of any ship or submarine goes beyond the predetermined limit, then this mine gets activated. Till now, all the mines used by the Navy are based on these three technologies, but all in different ways. In this new mine, all three have been included in one.
What is its specialty?

This is the country's first multi-influence smart naval mine which is equipped with low signature detection technology, which can hide it from enemy radar or sonar. It works on smart activation logic. It is so accurate that the possibility of wrong activation is eliminated. NAVAREA warning has been issued in the sea for a long time. Whenever the navy of a country conducts firing drill in its area, merchant ships, warships and other fishing boats passing through that area are warned. But in the event of war, by laying similar mine fields, not only can one's area be kept safe but enemy attacks can also be thwarted.
#DRDO and Indian Navy today successfully conducted validation trial of Multi-Influence Ground Mine. This system will further enhance undersea warfare capabilities of #IndianNavy. pic.twitter.com/aE69b8Mpf9

More than 20 targets were identified under Operation Sindoor
Indian intelligence agencies and defence forces had identified more than 20 terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor, launched in May in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. India carried out missile strikes on nine of them later. According to top defence sources, after the list of more than 20 terrorist targets was drawn up, it was discussed in detail at a meeting of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh with the chiefs of the Army, Air Force and the Navy. 'Markaz Taiba camp in Muridke and Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur were on top of the list from day one of the discussion. At the meeting, it was instructed that the attack should be precise and elaborate,' as per a source. After the detailed discussion, all the options were tabled before Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Not just the planning of attack was discussed but also preparation for Pakistan's retaliation. 'Escalation was expected but it was ensured that only terror installations were targeted. There was no significant damage to the Indian military bases as forces were prepared for the retaliation in advance,' added the source. Operation Sindoor 2025 | Complete coverage from The Hindu Free hand to forces It was clear after the Cabinet Committee on Security chaired by Prime Minister that out of the more than 20 targets, nine had been finalised. It was decided that there should be no harm to civilian population, no religious sentiment should be hurt, and no military installations should be targeted. This was made clear to the heads of intelligence agencies and defence forces at the Cabinet meeting. 'At the meeting, a free hand was given to the forces to take down any terror camp operating across the border at any location, while keeping in mind the factors discussed at the meeting,' added the top defence source.

Operation Sindoor met all objectives, instilled fear in terrorists, says Rajnath
Under the leadership of President Droupadi Murmu, Indian soldiers carried out the historic Operation Sindoor, achieving all objectives and instilling fear in the minds of terrorists, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Monday (June 23, 2025). He released Wings to Our Hopes (Volume-II), a curated collection of 51 speeches of Ms. Murmu in Hindi and English along with the e-version. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Singh described Ms. Murmu as the best example of women-led development in India, adding that under the leadership of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Indian soldiers carried out the historic Operation Sindoor, achieving all objectives and instilling fear in the minds of terrorists. He commended her for constantly encouraging the armed forces personnel, while also working relentlessly for the empowerment of the deprived sections of society. 'Through her own life, President Murmu has set an inspiring example for everyone to have access to education and equal rights and opportunities. The ideals of courage, hard work, public service and spirituality are visible in her life and these can be read in her speeches as well,' he added. In his address, Mr. Singh described the compilation of the speeches – ranging from her address to the nation as well as at universities, on innovation, contribution of women in the development of the country, to equality and cultural heritage – as the essence of the government's vision of making India a developed nation by 2047. 'The book will become a guiding light to build Viksit Bharat with progressive thoughts while preserving our glorious heritage. President Droupadi Murmu knows the importance of diversity in our country and recognises the pain of the deprived. This book proclaims the spirit of equality,' he said. Mr. Singh added that the book is an amalgamation of the knowledge and ideas of Ms. Murmu on diverse fields – from civilisation to culture, religion to science, art to literature, education to health and past to future. He termed this inclusiveness as a reflection of the character of India, which can prove to be beneficial for future generations.

Bad news for Pakistan, China as India not waiting for Russian SU-57 or US F-35 fighter jets, IAF making its own fighter planes more dangerous...
An image of British F-35B fighter jet used for Representational purpose Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme: In a significant achievement for India's defence sector, media reports have it that the Indian government is currently not in any formal talks to purchase advanced fighter aircraft like the Russian Su-57E or the American F-35. Instead, it is relying on indigenous Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). Here are all the details you need to know about India's very own Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), which is being called India's answer to fifth-generation air power. India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme In a big step towards 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' in Defence sector, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently approved the Execution Model for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. Readers should note that the AMCA clearance marks a critical step towards realising India's goal of joining an elite club of nations in designing and producing its own fleet of next-generation combat aircraft. The project will be helmed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), said the Defence Ministry in a press release. 'Both private and public sector entities would do bidding for the project, either independently or as a joint venture or as consortia. The entity/bidder should be an Indian company compliant with the laws and regulations of the country,' said the MoD statement. India's answer to fifth-generation air power The AMCA, widely seen as India's answer to fifth-generation air power, will give a major boost to achieving 'atmanirbharata' in the defence sector and will become a hallmark of India's growing defence capabilities. Being the fifth-generation stealth multirole fighter equipped with cutting-edge technology, it will be suited for all-weather operation. Designed with low radar cross-section and supercruise capability, the AMCA is seen as the successor to the frontline Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jets. Some reports suggest that its mass production is likely to commence by 2035. (With inputs from agencies)
