She said maintaining the status quo would mean more 'heartbreaking stories' of 'pain and trauma, suicide attempts, PTSD, lonely trips to Switzerland, (and) police investigations'. But Vicky Foxcroft, also of Labour, said the proposal did not include adequate safeguards for disabled people.
