Ejen Ali: The Movie 2's meet-and-greet thrills fans at Jom Heboh 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of Ejen Ali: The Movie 2 flocked to a special meet-and-greet session at Karnival Jom Heboh 2025 to catch a glimpse of the voice actors and mascots of the popular animation.
Shafiq Isa and Noorhayati Maslini Omar, who voice Ejen Bakar and Ejen Alicia, charmed the crowd with an interactive session and prize giveaways.
Qayyim Zamani, who voices the villain Neonimus, joined the press sit-down afterwards.
"Actually, I work at WAU Animation in the sound design department.
"This was my first time doing voice acting. I received a lot of guidance from Mr Shafiq Isa," he said.
Qayyim shared his own connection to the film, which first came out when he was 12 years old.
"I grew up with Ejen Ali, so I'm grateful. It still feels hard to believe. It feels like a dream."
"Many kids dislike Neonimus, so I'm happy," he added.
Shafiq attributed the film's success to its brilliant timing, and dwelled on how many fans grew up with the series.
"Some fans were eight years old when Season 1 came out, and by the time this movie was released, they were already 18 years old. That's amazing," he said.
Noorhayati, who has been a voice actor for 20 years, reflected on the project's growth: "Ejen Ali was my first local animation project; the others were dubbing for foreign cartoons.
"When I first auditioned, there was no one else—just five or four people. Now that it's a hit, when they open auditions, thousands come."
One of the parents at the event was Zawani Zainal, 36, from Cheras, who brought her three children.
"It happened to coincide with the school break, so I decided to bring my children here, and they've always been interested in Ejen Ali," she said.
Zawani said she found out about the meet and greet through TV3.
"Ejen Ali is a good animation because it promotes strong values, such as not giving up easily. That's the kind of message I want my children to take away," she said.
Bahtiar Ab Rahman, who attended with his children, said: "My kids really enjoy Ejen Ali. I think the animation is appropriate for children. Personally, I haven't had the chance to watch the second movie yet."
The event came as Ejen Ali: The Movie 2 continued to make waves at the box office, raking in RM21.9 million after just eight days in cinemas.

Ejen Ali 2 continues its amazing run as producers now hoping for mission accomplished with an impressive RM65mil haul

Hit animated movie "Ejen Ali The Movie 2" (EATM2) is still doing well with local cinemagoers and producers are now hoping to reach the mission possible of seeing a total haul of RM65 million, itself that will be an amazing benchmark for animated movies. Producers of the movie, Primeworks Studios, have called the Malaysian fans of the movies, whom they have nicknames 'Agents', to continue supporting the movie, which has already hit the magic number of RM55.1 million this week, the highest ever collection for an animated movie in Malaysia. "Agents, time is running out. We are in a mission now. We are hoping for a never before seen collection for an animated movie and we hope our agents will see us through in reaching the target," said Pinework Studios in a statement. The media release also pointed out that the biggest number of fans for the movie are from Selangor, Federal Territories (KL and Putrajaya), Johor, Perak and Kedah . "We are counting on our Agents the deliver and ensure further success of this movie. We thank the fans for the immense support and we have they continue supporting us. "Let's create another big success for local animated films. The producers also promise to up the tempo and raise the bar in our future ventures. Again, we thank all agents (fans) for their fantastic support," said Pinework Studios. Even more impressive, EATM2 has now surpassed the grossing of blockbuster films from Hollywood and Asia over the past two months. This is a clear testament to the confidence and extraordinary support of Malaysian audiences for animated films that are based on local identity and spirit. 'This success does not belong to WAU Animation alone but to all the agents who believed in and stood by us from the beginning," said Usamah Zaid Yasin, director of the EATM2 film. "I truly appreciate the dedication of the entire WAU Animation team who have poured their energy and creativity into making this film a success. "Thank you also to our production partner, Primeworks Studios, who have given their full commitment in promoting this film, and have always come up with fresh and bold new ideas to ensure that EATM2 continues to be the audience's choice. "And of course, the highest appreciation goes to the fans who have been our backbone and main source of inspiration since day one.' From an animated series on television to the silver screen, Ejen Ali has grown into a mature and influential franchise. This second film not only strengthens the brand, but also reflects the evolution of local animated storytelling that is bolder, more dimensional and touches the hearts of various audiences. The first two seasons of the series were followed by 'Ejen Ali The Movie' in November 2019, which grossed an impressive RM30 million (US$8 million) in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Indonesia, making it one of the highest-grossing animated films in Malaysia to date. The latest installment, 'Ejen Ali Season 3', also holds the title of being the first Malaysian animated intellectual property to be co-produced with Disney+ Hotstar South-East Asia, and the series was launched exclusively on the streaming service in June 2022. For the record, EATM2 is still showing in cinemas nationwide.

Malaysian Actor Fikry Abdullah Back Together With Wife After Divorce Fiasco

Yesterday (19th June 2025, Thursday), fans were surprised to hear that Fikry Abdullah's wife had sought divorce from the actor just four months after tying the knot. After much commotion, the pair reveal they're back together. Late last night, Fikry's wife, Khalizah Alihan, shared a photo of her and Fikry holding hands on her Instagram account. In her captions, she wrote, 'Thank you to everyone who prayed for our happiness,' assuring the public about her marriage. This post followed the recent issue where Khalizah allegedly filed for divorce from Fikry. This news shocked fans because the couple had only married last February. To recap, Khalizah appeared at the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Syariah Court on Thursday morning, which sparked rumours that she and Fikry are divorcing. After the news broke out, Fikry appeared at his hosting gig for TV3's 'Melodi' to clarify the situation. The 31-year-old denies the separation, saying his wife's appearance at the courthouse was to retract her previous divorce filing made in May. The actor also denied allegations that the divorce filing was a marketing gimmick. Fikry then assured the public that the couple was doing fine and would continue to work together to maintain a healthy marriage. Fans and netizens have reacted to the couple's brief separation, expressing relief that the couple are back together. However, the issue also sparked concern over Fikry and Khalizah's marriage. Many netizens argued that Khalizah may have filed for divorce because the couple had an argument, which left her in an emotional state. This speculation led to criticism that the pair lacked communication skills and that Khalizah didn't share her concerns with her husband before filing the divorce. As such, netizens are now advising the pair to be more proactive and communicate with each other more. It's good that Fikry and Khalizah have worked out their differences. However, we agree with netizens that they need to work on their communication. Nevertheless, we wish all the best for the pair.
