Move inside and you might mistake the Inster for an SUV: its concave roof means there's plenty of head room for adults front and rear, while leg room in the back is practically limo-like.
You can't escape how narrow the car is, however, so taller and broad-shouldered passengers might not find it all that roomy up front.
The seat bases are shallow and the backrests lack a bit of lumbar support, but the fixed armrest offers some comfort and the cupholders that sit underneath are handy.
Such generous passenger space limits the boot capacity to 280 litres, but you can slide the two rear seats forwards independently to increase the volume. You can even fold down the front pair to store longer items or lie down and take a nap.
The 10.25in touchscreen infotainment system is easy enough to use but not as intuitive as the Google-based set-up in the 5.
Furthermore, it can be a little sluggish to respond to inputs and its Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality isn't wireless.
The digital dash is graphically strong and customisable. And for all the touchscreen-dominated cars we test these days, it's refreshing to step down into a small EV and have a neat cluster of large, tactile physical buttons to prod and poke.
You don't need to take your eyes off the road to adjust the fan speed or temperature and the row of buttons for the touchscreen are useful for function-hopping on the move.

Ultimately the interior feels like its been thought about and created specifically for the inster, rather than simply being a scaled up or saled down version on of Ioniq EV's interior.

Qualifying Notes: Kyle Moyer Lands New Job with Arrow McLaren

INDYCAR Kyle Moyer's time as a free agent didn't last long. The veteran team manager who was one of three executives released last month by Team Penske has been hand-picked by Arrow McLaren Team Principal Tony Kanaan to join the Indianapolis-based NTT INDYCAR SERIES program. Moyer will be the organization's director of competition beginning with next week's test at Iowa Speedway. Kanaan and Moyer worked together for years at Andretti Global when Kanaan was a driver. Moyer was the team manager when Kanaan won the INDYCAR SERIES championship in 2004. Moyer left Michael Andretti's team in 2015 to join Roger Penske's organization. Moyer, along with Team President Tim Cindric and Managing Director Ron Ruzewski, were released by Team Penske in advance of the recent Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge after the cars of defending champion Josef Newgarden and Will Power were found with unapproved modifications ahead of qualifying. At Arrow McLaren, Moyer will replace Kanaan as the race strategist for Nolan Siegel, allowing Kanaan to work with all three Arrow McLaren drivers on race weekends. Kanaan told the Associated Press that almost every team in the paddock tried to hire Moyer, but the relationship the two of them have gave McLaren the edge. 'Kyle is one of the best strategists in the paddock, so talking about his qualities, not just about him as a human being, he knows a lot about racing,' Kanaan told the AP. 'Kyle probably is one of the top guys of knowledge of INDYCAR. He's been around it his entire life.' Moyer grew up in Monrovia, Indiana, and was brought into the sport by the Bettenhausen family. Kirkwood Credits Decision Making to Surge Series points leader Alex Palou had the spotlight for most of the first half of the season. A dominant start featured five wins in six races, including an Indy 500 victory, and made him the undisputed championship favorite. But lately, Andretti Global's Kyle Kirkwood has turning heads – and is turning the title tide. Kirkwood has surged to third in the standings, 75 points behind Palou, thanks to wins in the only three races Palou hasn't claimed. Kirkwood had just two wins in his first 53 series races. He now has three wins in the past six races. 'I think he's always been there,' Colton Herta said of his teammate heading into Sunday's XPEL Grand Prix at Road America Presented by AMR (1:30 p.m. ET, FOX, FOX Deportes, FOX Sports app, INDYCAR Radio Network). 'Maybe he's gotten a little bit better at how to race and when to go fast in races, and that just comes (with experience). But I think he's driving pretty similar to last year. He just had bad luck with penalties last year.' Kirkwood agrees the difference isn't raw speed but decision making. He cited last year's fifth-place finish at Road America as an example of when pushed too hard early in the race trying to stave off eventual third-place finisher Scott McLaughlin. The effort backfired and opened the door for McLaughlin and Palou to pass. 'I realized later it was inevitable,' Kirkwood said. 'I pushed too hard too early.' We'll see what he learned from last year. Dixon Penalized for Impeding DeFrancesco Six-time series champion Scott Dixon said he was trying to create a gap to maximize his chances of advancing in qualifying, but race officials said Dixon impeded the hot lap of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing's Devlin DeFrancesco during the first round of qualifying. The penalty proved costly to the Chip Ganassi Racing veteran. Rather than advancing to the Fast 12 and perhaps earning a top-10 starting position, Dixon lost his two fastest laps and was reduced to the 25th starting position. Only three times in his career has he started farther back, including 26th earlier this year in the Children's of Alabama INDYCAR Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park. He finished 12th in that race. A Google engineer's advice to computer science students: Go where the hiring bar is lower and get your foot in the door

Tawfiq Mohammad, a Google software engineer, says the hiring bar is lower for internships than full-time roles. Big Tech companies frequently onboard from their internship programs, he said in an interview with Sajjaad Khader. His advice to secure an internship? Develop skills through projects, seek out referrals, and track your applications. Don't underestimate the potential advantage of a first or second-year program at a Big Tech giant. It could be your foot in the door to a full-time offer. A referral can also help, too. Google software engineer Tawfiq Mohammad interned at the company for two summers before receiving a full-time offer — and he suggests current computer science students try to do the same. "I think one of the most important things I've done in my career, to date, is applying for these first and second year programs," he said in an interview with YouTuber Sajjaad Khader. "Like I said, it's a first and second-year program for computer science students, and the hiring bar is much, much lower. For example, they'll ask like a Leetcode easy instead of a Leetcode medium," he added, referencing the technical interviews. It's no secret that entry-level coders have it rough right now compared to the hiring boom of the pandemic. The tech industry is still feeling the effects of the last few years' waves of layoffs, and the stress of shrinking opportunities is compounded by companies increasingly turning to AI to accomplish tasks human coders once did. To better your chances of clinching an internship, Mohammad said, tailor your résumé and track your applications. "I started tracking my applications for these internships as opposed to just mass applying and just like waiting for whatever comes into my inbox," he said. "So, it was very organized. I would update the status of each application and it would help me a lot to prepare for each interview and for which stage I was at in each interview." To get his internship at Google, Mohammad said he cleared one behavioral interview, followed by two technical screenings. To prepare for the latter, he advises students to learn the pattern of Leetcode questions, rather than focusing on memorizing individual problems. "If you try to memorize it problem by problem, you'll eventually be given a problem that you don't know," he said. "So you just want to master the overarching principles." Mohammad acknowledged that getting a referral from his father's friend, who was already employed at Google, likely helped his chances. If getting a recommendation is within reach, he suggests applicants do what they can to secure one. "I think that really helped me get my foot in the door in the application process," he said. "I got an interview really soon after she submitted the referral. You want to try to separate yourself from everyone as much as you can when you're applying for these internships." And if you just can't seem to get an internship in this brutal job market, try to start learning critical skills on your own time by taking on projects, he added. Then, you'll have more to list on your résumé that could make you a more attractive applicant. "I think the best way to learn these basic computer science fundamentals is really just like doing things on your own," he said. If and when things eventually do work out, Mohammad suggests being as independent as possible. Ask for help when you need it, but the more problems you solve on your own, the more you're likely to learn. "You're smart enough to evaluate whether you're blocked," he said. "And if you're really, really blocked, at a certain point, obviously, then you should ask for help. But try to solve your problems on your own. Just by solving the problems on your own, you'll understand how all the systems fit together, how things run, and eventually you'll start helping people with your expertise." In an earlier interview with BI, Mohammad said interns should try to "learn as much as possible" from their more experienced colleagues. After all, they were likely once in a similar place.
