Fox Nation goes inside Alabama's iconic 'Million Dollar Band,' catches up with the Crimsonettes
The sights and sounds of college football include much more than just what happens on the gridiron. They come from the marching band, as well.
In episode 3 of the Fox Nation series, "The Tides That Bind," the Alabama Crimson Tide's 'Million Dollar Band' is showcased during practices and before major football games. As the latest installment explores, perhaps the loudest sound of all is the immense pride that's shared among members of the band — to whom it's much more than just an extracurricular activity."It became a big goal of mine to make the drumline at Bama," drumline member of the 'Million Dollar Band' and University of Alabama senior Cade Wilson said in the new episode. For Wilson, it's an honor and a legacy; both his parents were members of the band in their younger years. His father was a drummer and his mother was a member of the Crimsonettes, the baton-twirling group that performs alongside the 'Million Dollar Band.'

The episode also spotlighted the Crimsonettes, during which captain Sally Otts expressed how intimidating the road environments are for the Crimson Tide — especially when the team travels to Knoxville to play their rivals, the Tennessee Volunteers.
"This week, we will talk about how to react in a positive manner when things aren't going well," Otts said."Because that environment [Tennessee] is so negative and scary, and if we lose, it can be really intense," she explained of the Volunteers fan base, known for being passionate and, to some, downright annoying.
Wilson stressed the significance of being part of such a historic band before kickoff between the Crimson Tide and the Volunteers.
"I'm an ambassador of the university every time I put on that script 'A'," Wilson said. "I'm in uniform with all my best friends. I have a purpose to serve."
"You have a chance to represent the university at the highest level. That is as far as you can go without being literally on the football team."

Legendary '60s Band Hits Highest Chart Rank in Nearly 60 Years originally appeared on Parade. Nearly six decades after the release of one of their most iconic albums, The Beach Boys are back on the charts. Following the death of founding member Brian Wilson on June 11, the legendary band's music catalog saw a massive 184% surge in U.S. equivalent album units for the week ending June 12 — climbing to 31,000 units, according to Billboard. Their classic 1966 album Pet Sounds reentered the Billboard 200 at its highest ranking in nearly 60 years. But that wasn't the only album gaining traction. Sounds of Summer: The Very Best of The Beach Boys, released in 2003, jumped from No. 180 to No. 52 on the same chart. The renewed interest in their music comes in the wake of Wilson's passing. While his official cause of death has not been disclosed, reports noted that the 81-year-old struggled with dementia in his later years. The Beach Boys, formed in 1961, originally consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis and CarlWilson, their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. Together, they became one of the most influential bands in music history, pioneering the surf rock genre. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Jardine reflected on his final visit with Wilson. He and his wife, Mary Ann, stopped by the producer's home in Southern California while en route to Carmel. 'The first thing he did is he looked at me, right in my eyes. He said, 'You started the band,'' Jardine recalled. 'I said, 'Okay, well Brian, thank you, but you had a little bit to do with it too.'' Though Wilson's involvement with the group changed over the years, he and Jardine remained close. In recent times, Jardine would visit every few months to stay connected. 'The band would get together and sing for him. He wouldn't participate, but the idea was to keep him involved,' Jardine said. 'It was really cool. He was having difficulties, but he seemed to be recovering. So [his death] has been quite a shock.' Bam Adebayo had perfect response to A'ja Wilson's zebra-themed outfit
Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson was expertly trolled by her boyfriend, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo. Adebayo is no stranger to dropping subtle tweets or posts about Wilson. Long before they hard-launched their relationship, he was there with perfectly timed thoughts of support and, sometimes, humor. When Wilson had a lousy shooting day last season, Adebayo posted, "Keep building today [brick] by [brick]." When Wilson broke the single-season scoring record, you guessed it — another Adebayo post.
