When Venus enters Taurus this week, these 3 signs should trust in lust
On Friday, June 6, Venus, our planet of attraction, attachment and aesthetics, is trading the flaming codpiece of Aries for the brocade bathrobe of Taurus.
Venus will loll around in these pleasured pastures until July 4.
Named for the Roman goddess of love and fertility, Venus is the fine, divine feminine counterpart to aggro jockstrap warlord Mars.
According to myth, Venus was born from sea foam and the severed member of Uranus, emerging fully formed and boobs busting out in a scallop shell — with pleasure as her governing principle.

As the planetary ruler of Taurus, this transit is Venus coming home and basking in the typical and the tactile.
Here in the herd, the planet of love is rapturously incarnated.
Earth is luscious, movement is languid, the body is an altar — and in lust we trust.
Those born with Venus in Taurus are natural-born hedonists. The inclination here is to revel in the pleasures of the animal body; consuming and consumating are the orders of the day.
If Venus in Taurus were a fabric, it would be velvet.
Meaning of Venus in Taurus
6 Named for the goddess of love, Venus colors attraction and attachment, assets and aesthetics.

If Venus in Taurus were a sexual position, it would be 69, because everyone gets to feel good while lying down.
Venus in Taurus wants the delicious and the dependable, something or someone steadfast, cash, and/or a fairy tale ending.
In turn, this transit makes us hungry for the stable and the sensual: a devoted lover, a piece of fruit ripe and warm from the vine, a fistful of wildflowers, a lavish meal, an unhurried afternoon.
For the video embodiment of Venus in Taurus, see the recording of 'Rich Girl,' performed by Hall and Oates circa 1977.
In terms of aesthetics, Venus in Taurus is tactile luxury, statuary-inspired silhouettes, and a general invocation of a Renaissance painting. For evidence, see Venus in Taurus natives Lana Del Rey, Princess Diana, Deborah Harry and Megan Fox.
The great lesson of Taurus is that pleasure cannot exist without presence.
In the ugly, capitalist, 'more' motivated world in which we live and toil, pleasure is often cheapened to a quick thrill and disappearing dopamine; in other words, fast food and a swipe right.
In velvet revolt, Venus in Taurus refuses to rush what feels good, as it's not waiting for what's next or distracted by what's been — it's hungry for right now and exactly what it already has.
6 Venus in Taurus calls to mind the image of the horned Egyptian goddess Hathor, the patron saint of fertility, joy, dancing, drunkenness and, above all, gratitude for what gratifies.

The underbelly of the Venusian bull is indulgence that begets inertia and desire that becomes polluted by possessiveness.
We cross this threshold when we move from wanting to hold to needing to own.
Venus in Taurus calls to mind the image of the horned Egyptian goddess Hathor, patron saint of fertility, joy, dancing, drunkenness, and above all, gratitude for what gratifies. With this in mind, we are all called to not only take what we need but to honor the source of its delivery, be it the body of another or the earth itself.
While we'll all be under the influence of this decadent transit, three signs will feel the effects most acutely.
Read for your sun and rising sign.

Venus has come home to your first of the self, Taurus.
A wise friend shared with me her philosophy that, as humans, we are meant to consciously create, not unconsciously consume, and when we lean into the latter, we are not only starved of the meat of what matters, but destined for depression.
As an embodied earth sign, a child of Venus, and ruler of the second house of values and valuables, this transit is here to remind you that the process of making is endlessly more nourishing than the state of having.

You love hard and hold tight, Scorpio, preferring suffering to severance.
Yet, Venus in Taurus asks you to imagine that relationships can and should be a joyful pursuit, that devotion is not measured in sacrifices made but pleasure exchanged.
In this sense, every disaster that has befallen you, every fissure in your delicate heart, has brought you to the brink of right now and the knowledge that love is not a thing to hold or be held down by, but a constant resource for renewal.

Ahoy, Sagittarius!
In his poem 'The Body,' Charles Simic writes of the body as if it were a shore to be explored:
This last continent
Still to be discovered.
My hand is dreaming, is building
Its ship. For crew it takes
A pack of bones, for food
A beer-bottle full of blood.
It knows the breath that blows north.
With the breath from the west
It will sail east each night.
The scent of your body as it sleeps
Are the land-birds sighted at sea.
My touch is on the highest mast.
It cries at four in the morning
For a lantern to be lit
On the rim of the world.
As Venus in Taurus turns the lovelight on your sixth house of ritual, self-care and the body, I implore you to think of the latter, and the other, as a continent unto itself and devote yourself with a poet's ardor to your own edges.

Daily Horoscope for June 20, 2025
General Daily Insight for June 20, 2025 Retreating within our shells isn't shameful. The intuitive Moon initially slides into stability-seeking Taurus, so we'll hardly be in the mood to rush off first thing. Our energy levels may even take an additional hit when Mars makes a quincunx to foggy Neptune, casting a veil over our ambitions. Caffeine might be necessary for productivity! The Sun will make a major change at 10:36 pm EDT when it enters sensitive Cancer for its annual visit, encouraging us all to seek out comfort and security. Aries March 21 – April 19 Feeling your way forward is a perfectly valid approach. Leading with an open heart will be wise while the Sun settles down in your emotional 4th house for its yearly tour. This is a great time to inspect your internal foundations and make sure that you're stable and secure. If you need support, don't hesitate to ask your loved ones for a shoulder to cry on. A relative or roommate could prove especially comforting, so let yourself freely share your feelings. Taurus April 20 – May 20 Hitting the town and having fun is the name of your game today! The Sun is shimmying into your chatty 3rd house for the next thirty days, so there's no need to sequester yourself on the couch or keep your thoughts to yourself. No, it is time to go out and take part in your community by investigating whatever your pals are up to. You could discover some really exciting and interesting opportunities if you do. Approach your local vicinity with fresh eyes. Gemini May 21 – June 20 You can only fly by the seat of your pants for so long. The stars are encouraging you to focus on more grounded matters as the Sun marches into your 2nd House of Checks and Balances, acting as a firm reminder of your funds and what you do with them. If your resources feel limited or stagnant, then this cycle can drum up countless opportunities to increase your sense of abundance and security. Roll up your sleeves and get to it! Cancer June 21 – July 22 Step to the front of the line! It is your moment, according to the cosmic calendar, as the Sun arrives in your 1st House of Action, propelling you up to amazing heights. This is your birthday season for a reason, so put your heart and soul into whatever matters most to you right now. Even if you aren't blowing out any candles, you can still make a few wishes. Get clear about what you want, then go after it as fast as you can. Leo July 23 – August 22 Less is more for the time being. The energy is turning down a notch or two as the Sun enters your secluded 12th house for the next month — this may feel like an extended snooze fest. This time is not about initiations or new beginnings, but rather wrapping up loose ends and clearing away the clutter in your life. This process should create plenty of room for fresh opportunities when the Sun enters your sign in July. Until then, take it easy. Virgo August 23 – September 22 No person is an island. Even if you think of yourself as a rather isolated peninsula, you still need to forge connections and surround yourself with quality connections — especially as the Sun is moving into your 11th House of Group Associations. This is a wonderful thirty-day opportunity to meet new acquaintances who may prove very pivotal to your life down the line, while also enjoying the friendships you already have. Don't play the lone wolf! Explore the joy of being part of the pack. Libra September 23 – October 22 Put your heart and soul into your goals. You've got a special burst of energy pushing you up life's great ladder, thanks to the Sun entering your reputation zone for the next thirty days. This is the perfect time to chase after your ambitions and put in the required effort to get that much closer to them. Any effort you exert in this moment could yield immensely potent and even profitable results. This is no time for resting on your laurels! Scorpio October 23 – November 21 There is nothing to be gained by limiting yourself. In fact, you have everything to gain by looking beyond your usual limitations and boundaries as the Sun flies into your unrestrained 9th house. From going on a nature walk to booking an exotic vacation, the world really is full of endless opportunities to learn and grow! Go to the library and check out a book on something that's always fascinated you. Taste-test a new recipe with your loved ones. The experience alone will be valuable. Sagittarius November 22 – December 21 Keep your cards close to your chest. There is an undeniably air of secrecy and intensity settling around you as the Sun slips into your private 8th house. This cycle is all about extremes, so you may not be interested in spending time with anyone who doesn't bring something important or meaningful to the connection. You might prefer your own company over meaningless chatter. That's okay — it is within those quiet moments that you will make some important realizations. Take space for your epiphanies. Capricorn December 22 – January 19 It is okay to rely on other people. Capricorn is known for its tendency to be one of the most self-sufficient signs of the zodiac, but with the Sun arriving in your cooperation quadrant for its yearly visit, make an effort to focus on your most vital connections. That isn't to say you need to form expectations of other people, because unnecessary expectations risk breeding premature resentment. Merely give them the space to support you in the same way you'd want to assist them. Aquarius January 20 – February 18 Simplicity is more useful than ever. You've potentially had enough bells and whistles while the Sun danced through your playful 5th house. Now that it's entering your detailed 6th house, which is all about streamlining and improving your daily life. That may not sound very exciting at first glance, but the potential to feel so much better about yourself, both mentally and physically, is the reward on offer here. Don't leave such a wonderful blessing for someone else to pick up. Pisces February 19 – March 20 Step into the spotlight, Pisces. The Sun is making its annual visit to your 5th House of Music, which means it's your turn to let your natural talents flow as freely as possible. The emotional rewards should be wonderful! Whether you're belting it out at karaoke night or putting your art on display at a gallery, you can enjoy life the most when you stop dimming your own shine. This same sector rules fame, so your talents have an extra chance to carry you far.

Elon Musk's SpaceX's Umpteenth Mishap Tagged 'A Major Anomaly'
Elon Musk's plans to explore space continue to be a far-fetched dream thanks to repeated technical problems. The SpaceX founder's Starship suffered another explosion, leaving many to wonder if his plans to visit Mars should be put to rest. Elon Musk's company, SpaceX, experienced its latest incident on Wednesday, June 18, at the Texas Starbase facility near Boca Chica Beach. Musk's SpaceX foundation confirmed the explosion on X, revealing the shocking mishap happened at approximately 11 p.m. CT. "The Starship preparing for the tenth flight test experienced a major anomaly while on a test stand at Starbase," they explained. "A safety clear area around the site was maintained throughout the operation, and all personnel are safe and accounted for. Our Starbase team is actively working to save the test site and the immediate surrounding area in conjunction with local officials," the message continued. Musk's company confirmed that the residents in surrounding communities were not harmed. Nonetheless, they warned people not to approach the explosion area until their safety operations were completed. TMZ shared a video capturing the incident, showing the rocket exploding into a fiery flame upon take-off. According to reports, residents miles from the Texas Starbase facility near Boca Chica Beach felt the powerful explosion. The list included someone in Brownsville, about 22 miles from the testing site, who captured and posted about the eruption on social media. Although SpaceX claimed their tenth launch test failure was a "major anomaly," it wasn't the first time their Starship had exploded. Musk's company's 7th and 8th launch tests also ended in terrifying explosions, with the most recent incident occurring last month. The Starship rocket, hyped by the company as the world's most powerful launch vehicle ever developed, exploded upon re-entry into orbit. Given the multiple mishaps, many wondered if Musk was in over his head with his space exploration plans. Many shared their thoughts about Musk's latest mishap underneath the SpaceX announcement, having mixed feelings about his company's goals. "What an absolute failure. Good luck securing more public funding for more failures like this in the future," a critic penned. "Honestly, the 'fail fast' thing is kinda overrated... SpaceX just has crazy funding to blow stuff up lol," another critic claimed. A third wondered if the "anomaly" was sabotage, while others implored Musk not to give up on his Mars conquest. "Data gathered is the most important thing. Otherwise minor setback," a fan declared. A fellow supporter echoed similar sentiments, writing, "Anomaly? Yes. Delay? Maybe. But if you're building a 9-million-pound rocket to colonize Mars and nothing blows up once in a while, you're not pushing hard enough. Starbase is safe. Starship is iterating. The mission is still a go." When Musk's Starship exploded in March, it caused multiple air travel disruptions. The Blast covered the story, reporting that the rocket blew up during a live stream of its test launch in Texas. The spacecraft's engines shut down shortly after the booster had been successfully retrieved at the launch tower. Dan Huot, SpaceX's communications manager, explained during the live broadcast that the loss of engine power had resulted in the loss of the spacecraft's altitude control. The situation escalated as the rocket began to spin, ending in a complete loss of communication and subsequent explosion. During the incident, multiple media sources reported that flights from Miami International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and Philadelphia International Airport experienced delays due to debris from a space launch. Smaller airports in West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando, Florida, were also affected. Musk's SpaceX company wasn't the only foundation experiencing delays in its plans, with the tech billionaire's Austin factory suffering multiple closures. According to Business Insider, Tesla informed workers in a meeting early this month that the company would shut down its Cybertruck production. The pause in production is reportedly scheduled to begin the week of June 30 and is expected to resume the following week. During the shutdown, employees could use their paid time off or attend voluntary training and participate in cleaning activities. However, this was not the first time the Austin factory had closed its doors. Tesla shut down the production of Cybertruck and Model Y lines in late May to hold a voluntary training for its Austin factory employees. The training reportedly included seminars on improving the work culture at the factory. Another production pause occurred last December over a battery supply issue. Will Elon Musk's SpaceX Starship achieve successful test launches without more explosions?

Why Everyone Is Obsessed With The Viral Allison Plates
When 'Girl Dinner' took over TikTok in 2023 — thank you, Olivia Maher — it asked and answered a very important question: 'What if charcuterie boards but all the time?' It makes so much sense. Why limit yourself to one dish for dinner when you can languidly graze over the finest selections of meats, cheeses, breads, and other nourishing snack stuff? There's beauty in Girl Dinner's simplicity. All you have to do is open the fridge, pull out the good stuff, lay it out higgledy-piggledy on a table or counter, and commence to feast. You don't even need to sit down, although I suggest you do; sitting is always better than standing. And lying down is always better than sitting. So, maybe have your Girl Dinner while draped across a satin divan like a Roman aristocrat. As with all of the best TikTok trends, the community took this great idea and ran with it. First, we got the viral sound from creator Karma Carr that was used thousands of times by users sharing their own versions of Girl Dinner. These range anywhere from some of your more traditional-looking, charcuterie-inspired plates to things that are truly feral, like a bowl of elbow macaroni with peas. The latter is my personal, preferred version. There are other creators, however, that went the opposite route. They took the concept of the Girl Dinner and turned it into something you might find on a Pinterest board or on the menu of a Michelin-star restaurant. Enter the 2025 viral food trend: the Allison Plate. TikTok user @ally_wong has amassed quite a following — over half a million followers — by sharing her love of food and art. Her food creations do kind of give Girl Dinner vibes, but they differ quite a lot in spirit. Both are often an assemblage of random foods on a single plate. However, where Girl Dinner celebrates the random chaos that happens when you put all of your disparate favorites onto a dish (or dishes), the Allison Plate is far more intentionally constructed. Each meal places more emphasis on presentation than your typical Girl Dinner. Part of the reason Allison focuses so much on presentation is that she makes her own ceramic dishware. The literal plates used become just as important as the food that they hold. There are even some that seem intentionally made for the kind of food that will one day hold it. Take a look at the example below that has a specific, bagel-sized indentation. It's extremely perfect. Hey, you! Wanna cook 7,500+ recipes in step-by-step mode (with helpful videos) right from your phone? Download the free Tasty app right now. Besides presentation, the other major difference between a Girl Dinner and an Allison Plate is preparation. Several of Allison's dishes involve multiple, intricate steps. Take the TikTok below as just one example. She uses a leftover piece of salmon to make salmon cakes for ten minutes in the oven and "quickly" whips up an entire beet salad to go on her plate. While it looks fantastic, I imagine the average Girl Dinner would take less than ten minutes to prepare in its entirety. Still, there is far less preparation for an Allison Plate than your standard lunch or dinner, and it provides a wide array of nutritious snack foods for those 9–5 girls who don't want to just pick one thing to eat. And the Allison Plate really resonates with a lot of people on TikTok. Fans of hers try their hand at arranging their own platters, even going so far as to announce where they bought their plate. Many of the comments on Allison's videos point out two things. First is her pleasant, soft way of speaking as she gently places food onto her plate. It's like an ASMR version of food preparation. For real, I spent an extra hour just watching her food videos because I was lulled into a pleasant state of peace. See, Mom, TikTok isn't ALL brain rot. The second point from the comments is that her videos inspire the viewer to attempt their own plate and really be mindful of the foods they are choosing to eat. Many comments say that this intentionality helps them to have more balanced meals throughout the day. I want to make it clear that there is space for both Girl Dinner and the Allison Plate at the table. I think the wonderful thing about both trends is that they allow you to eat on your own terms. Some nights, you get home from a long day of work and all you can muster is a Girl Dinner. You get to pick out your favorite things from the big menu of life and just go nuts on them. That's freaking awesome. Maybe on the weekends, you have the time and energy to whip up an Allison Plate. You make a special trip to the grocery store, pick out all your favorites, maybe some things you've never tried before, and make it look like a picture from Martha Stewart's Instagram account. That, also, is freaking awesome. In my opinion, the overall goal of any meal should be that it makes you feel good. And that can look like a lot of different things. Sometimes it's a salad. Sometimes it's four hot dogs from a street vendor. No matter what it is, it should be celebrated. So, I am going to give my own Girl Dinner or Allison Plate a try this weekend. Here are some of my go-tos, no matter which I select: blue cheese, Smartfood popcorn, dried dates, Wheat Thins, shelled pistachios, Pillsbury flaky biscuits with honey butter, and an entire ice cream cake. Don't judge me, and let me know what you're putting on your plate in the comments.
