Realme GT 7 Delivers With Its Performance And Workhorse Traits

Realme GT 7 has the latest chipset, a clean design that won't wow you much but has other features to keep you engaged.
The Realme GT series has epitomised performance in a value for money offering. The GT 7 Pro has become the flag bearer but the regular GT 7 is no slouch either which becomes evident when you browse through its hardware and see it perform in daily use.
Realme has made a habit of launching one too many devices that have similar traits but the GT series is its main focus, especially because that's where most people are buying their phones these days.
Talking about the Realme GT 7, priced at 42,999, it has the latest hardware, the design focuses on practicality and you have a decent chunk of a battery packed inside. But does that translate into the GT value that we have become used to, we find out the answer.
Not A Design Marvel
Realme GT 7 will not wow you with its design like the Galaxy S25 Edge and that will be acceptable to most for the price tag. The textured panel at the panel is made of plastic but does not give you the cheap impression of the material and the build quality is solid enough to make you feel comfortable about its longevity.
It is not compact in size by any means but that is not going to be an issue for people who need a phone for gaming and other heavy tasks.
The GT 7 does weigh over 205 grams which can make it unwieldy for some users, and they should keep that in mind while considering this model.
Performance Guaranteed
Realme is using the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset which is a slightly toned down version of the premium variant but still has enough oomph and power to keep you going all day and night long.
Pair that with 12GB RAM (12GB further via memory) and you have a device that can happily handle whatever you throw at it without breaking a sweat. It can run intensive games at highest settings and see no frame drop or lag to ruin the experience.
While the hardware shines, we are less keen on the OS experience of the GT 7 even though the Realme UI 6.0 has cleaned up its act to some extent. The pre-loaded app situation doesn't change much here and the UI definitely needs a new coating or overhaul to match the premiumness of the device. The software is responsive and fluid overall but the lack of x-factor and clean UI still does not please us.
Realme has not cut costs with the display and offering an LTPO AMOLED panel with 1B colours, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support is as good as it can get. The screen size of 6.78-inch makes it ideal for gamers and watching videos is also a strong point.
However, we would have liked a better screen protection than the Gorilla Glass 7i which is fine for a phone in a lower price bracket. The colours are crisp and the deep blacks of the panel make it pleasing to the eye. The outdoor visibility is also adequate and won't have any complaints around it.
The Imaging Hits And Misses
Realme GT 7 goes with a duo of 50MP wide sensor and telephoto lens along with an 8MP ultrawide shooter. The primary sensor does well in good bright conditions with detailed photos and sharp contrast in play.
The 50MP telephoto lens adds further versatility to the shooting chops and gives you the close-up shots with natural tones and right level of detail. Yes, the processing can be a mixed bag but overall performance is quite good and will keep you happy.
However, the 8MP ultra-wide angle lens is basic and you should expect average photos if you really like using the angle. The low light photos in general lack the sharpness and the extra light from the sensor makes it look sketchy. Realme can fix these issues with a quick update.
The Long Workhorse Carrier
Realme has packed the GT 7 with a 7,000mAh silicone carbon grade battery that allows the phone to be as sleek as this with a large capacity unit. You also get 120W charging speed out of the box. The battery life is really good and you can be rest assured about the phone for well over 24 hours and still left with over 25 percent juice in the tank.

Our daily grind includes using the phone switching between Wi-Fi and 5G network to see if the device heats up and handles the fluctuations with a stable profile. The heating was minimum, which is good in most cases, and the screen-on-time is a good indication of how the battery manages different tasks. This new battery tech is really effective and the GT 7 thrives in its presence.
Realme GT 7 is an impressive performer that handles the daily grind with a smile on its face and the long battery life adds up to the endurance needs of the users these days. The main cameras are reliable and usable in bright conditions but the low light imaging could use some work. A definite option for heavy users who don't want battery anxiety.

Realme 15 series mobile specs and launch timeline out: What we can expect

Realme is gearing up to introduce its new smartphone lineup, the Realme 15 series, which is expected to launch in July 2025. Although the company has not officially confirmed the details, leaks and certification documents have revealed some key insights about the upcoming models and their specifications. Let's have a closer look at what's coming. The Realme 15 series is expected to comprise multiple variants, including the Realme 15, 15 Pro and 15 Lite. However, they may not be launched simultaneously, with several sources indicating a launch date of July 2025. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the rollout could start with one or two models first, followed by the release of additional versions. This approach aligns with Realme's previous strategy, as seen with the Realme 14 series earlier this year. The company launched the 14 Pro 5G and 14 Pro Plus 5G in January in India, while the 14 Pro Lite appeared later in March. Notably, the standard Realme 14 5G was available only in select global markets and did not reach India. Reports from Xpertpick suggest that this model (RMX5000) will come in three configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. The phone may be offered in three colours: Dark Purple, Speed Green, and Victory Gold. Although details about the chipset remain unclear, the Lite version is expected to be the most affordable model, with a price tag likely to be below Rs. 15,000. It may be available in four variants, ranging from 8GB RAM with 128GB storage to 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. The device is likely to come in three colour options: Flowing Silver, Silk Purple, and Velvet Green. This model may target the mid-range segment, similar to the Realme 14 Pro Plus. It may share the same memory options as the Pro model and could be priced between Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 20,000. It is expected to come packed with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a 6,300mAh battery with 45W fast charging support, a 120Hz flat AMOLED display, and a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, along with a 32MP front camera. Additionally, the device might offer three colour options: Flowing Silver, Silk Pink, and Velvet Green.

Optiemus inks sourcing deal with 3rd China co

NEW DELHI: After Xiaomi and RealMe, another top Chinese electronics maker OnePlus has decided to outsource production of its audio and internet-of-things (IoT) products to a local Indian contract manufacturer. The announcement comes as India pushes production of hi-tech electronics products in the country, amid US tariff war with China. Optiemus Electronics will make the products at its factory in Noida, which aligns with plan of OnePlus to localise production in the country. For Optiemus, this is the third such deal after it inked similar partnerships with other Chinese players Xiaomi and RealMe earlier. "The strategic partnership aligns with long-term vision of OnePlus for India and the recent Project Starlight commitment to strengthen localisation efforts in the region. OnePlus is extending efforts towards expanding its local manufacturing capabilities and has now decided to start making its IoT portfolio of products in the Noida-based facility, in addition to its existing smartphones range being made in India," the Chinese company said. Ashok Gupta, chairman of Optiemus Group, said the collaboration marks a significant step in expanding its electronics manufacturing footprint. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like AC Installation & Repair from Certified Pros Search7 Learn More Undo "We specialise in transforming ideas into reality and this partnership empowers us to manufacture high-quality IoT products. Together, we will continue to explore new frontiers and remain committed to playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of electronics manufacturing in India," Gupta said. Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, said the partnership with Optiemus reflects the company's commitment to Project Starlight. "This collaboration is not just about technology - it's about empowering local communities, creating meaningful innovation, and bringing smarter, more connected experiences to our India community." OnePlus' key IoT offerings include TWS products and wireless neckbands. In April this year, Chinese RealMe also partnered with Optiemus to manufacture its next-generation AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) products in India, which include earphones, smartwatches, and tablets. The deal saw Optiemus and RealMe manufacture five million AIoT devices annually, while generating over 2,000 new employment opportunities in the country. Xiaomi had also signed sourcing agreement with Optiemus earlier. Stay informed with the latest business news, updates on bank holidays and public holidays . AI Masterclass for Students. Realme Buds Air 7 Pro review: Feature-packed wireless earphones on budget

Realme Buds Air 7 Pro review The Realme Buds Air 7 Pro are the latest entrants in India's wireless earphones segment, bringing premium features at an accessible price. Priced at Rs 5,499, these earbuds offer active noise cancellation (ANC), 3D spatial audio, 45ms low latency, support for the LHDC codec for Hi-Res wireless audio, and multi-point connectivity. With such features, the Buds Air 7 Pro promises strong value—but does it deliver? Design and fit The Realme Buds Air 7 Pro comes in a clean, minimalist package, including extra silicone tips for better fit. Though made of plastic, the charging case has a leather-like finish that resists fingerprints. Compact and pocketable, the case has a silver metallic band around its edge, the Realme logo in the centre, and a USB-C port for charging. An LED indicator near the lid shows battery and pairing status. Opening the case reveals a glossy interior with firmly seated earbuds held by magnets. The hinge is sturdy and closes with a satisfying snap. The in-ear buds have a stem-style design, combining a glossy touch surface with a silver accent. They offer a snug, lightweight fit, staying comfortable over long use and stable during movement. However, the touch controls are not very intuitive—basic functions like play/pause and call handling work well, but stem-based gestures can feel imprecise. Connectivity and pairing Powered by Bluetooth 5.4, the earbuds support the LHDC codec for high-resolution audio on compatible devices. Pairing is seamless with Realme smartphones, where they auto-connect upon opening the case. On other devices, like iPhones, pairing takes slightly longer and requires a manual button press to enter pairing mode. Android users benefit from Google Fast Pair, and the earbuds support multi-point connectivity across Android and iOS devices. Audio and features The Buds Air 7 Pro delivers clear and balanced audio across content types. When used with compatible devices, features like 3D Spatial Audio add depth, particularly for videos. These can be adjusted through the Realme Link app, which offers settings for EQ, Golden Sound tuning, and gesture controls. Golden Sound This feature analyses your hearing through an in-app test and creates a personalised sound profile. It improves clarity across various genres. Spatial Sound Spatial Sound adds dimension to the audio, making a notable difference with supported content. EQ mode The app offers EQ presets such as Serenade, Original Sound, Clear Bass and Deep Bass, along with the option to create custom profiles—even multiple profiles for different users. Camera and playback features A handy feature is the ability to use the earbuds as a remote shutter for the phone's camera via double tap. Another convenience is auto play/pause, which works reliably when inserting or removing the earbuds. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Realme claims up to 53dB of noise reduction. In use, the ANC is effective at cutting out ambient sounds like chatter, fan noise and street traffic. The improvement with ANC on is noticeable, making for a more immersive experience. That said, toggling ANC felt abrupt—the transition could be smoother. ANC modes can be controlled through the earbuds or the app, with four levels: Smart, Max, Moderate and Mild. Smart mode adjusts automatically and works well in shifting environments. Calling Call quality is solid, thanks to a six-microphone array and AI noise reduction. Voice clarity is good, even in noisy environments, and Bluetooth range is excellent. Calls were consistently clear with no dropouts. Battery life Battery performance is strong. Over two weeks of regular use—including long listening sessions and calls—the earbuds required just two short charges. This makes them highly dependable for daily use. Verdict The Realme Buds Air 7 Pro offers a well-rounded experience at an affordable price. It delivers quality sound, solid ANC, spatial audio, and long battery life. Touch controls could be more intuitive, and ANC transitions smoother, but these are minor drawbacks in an otherwise feature-rich package. The Buds Air 7 Pro stands out in its segment with a premium design, clear call quality, and reliable performance—making it a top contender for anyone seeking budget wireless earbuds with advanced features.
