He has been in mentorship roles with the Delhi Capitals side, both in the men's and women's team.advertisementUnder his tutelage, Delhi Capitals reached the final of the Women's Premier League but lost against Mumbai Indians.
"I got into different roles. After finishing, I became the president (CAB), then the board president (BCCI). I never got the time. But let's see what the future holds. I am just 50 and I am open to it. We will see where it goes," Ganguly said in the interview.GANGULY SPEAKS ON GAMBHIRThe former player was also asked to rate Gautam Gambhir's tenure with the Indian side. Gambhir has had a topsy-turvy time with the Indian team so far. While he has won the Champions Trophy 2025, under Gambhir's coaching, India have miserably faltered in Test cricket.Ganguly pointed out the same and said that like every other person, Gambhir will also learn on the job.advertisement"He is doing a good job. He started a little slow, losing to Australia and New Zealand. But he picked up with the Champions Trophy and this England series is going to be a big one for him," Ganguly reacted to the question on Gautam Gambhir."I have not seen him that close. But he is very passionate. I have not seen the strategy closely because I have never worked with him. I have played with him and he was a great guy when we played together. He had a lot of respect for me and the seniors," he said."I see him now. He is very passionate. He is very straightforward. He is open about everything and he says things — people, team, players. And from the outside it feels that he is a very straightforward person. You get what you see. I wish him all the best. But just like everyone, he will also learn and grow," concluded Ganguly.Must Watch

India vs England day 3 in stats featuring Jasprit Bumrah's record-setting day

India vs England: Jasprit Bumrah continued his record-breaking spree in Test whites as he spearheaded India's overseas pace bowling in yet another innings with his 14 five-wicket haul at Leeds on Sunday. Bumrah's 5/83 effort ensured that England were bundled out for 465 in their first innings, handing India only a slender six-run lead after his pace partners Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna endured their worst Test outings at Headingley. India's pace spearhead also scaled new heights in terms of sheer performance of Test bowlers at their peaks, catching up with the primes of Pakistani legends Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram. Here are the top stats and records from India vs England Day 3's play at Leeds: 150 – Jasprit Bumrah became the 30th bowler to record 150 Test wickets in SENA countries (including home bowlers). Only Vernon Philander (20.84) holds a better average than Bumrah (20.88) in the four countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia). 11 – Bumrah equalled R Ashwin (11 in 78 innings) for the most five-wickets hauls in the World Test Championship in only 67 innings. 12 – Bumrah equalled Kapil Dev for the most Test five-fors among Indian bowlers in away Tests. The tally is also the highest by any pacer in the 21st century. 30.9 – Bumrah's strike rate in his last 20 Tests (37 innings) since Jan 2022 for his 103 wickets is the best for any bowler in history in a 20-match sequence, eclipsing Waqar Younis (32.46 for 133 wickets). 15.27 – Bumrah's average in his last 20 Tests is only bettered by Imran Khan (15.12 for 116 wickets between 1981-85) in a 20-match sequence among all Test pacers. 2 – For the first time in 10 years, two India pacers conceded more than 120 runs (Md Siraj 2/122 and Prasidh Krishna 3/128) in the same Test innings. 6.40 – Prasidh Krishna's economy rate is the worst for an India pacer in a Test innings conceding at least 100 runs. Only Lahiru Kumara (6.56 for 0/164) has conceded more runs at a higher economy in a Test innings among fast bowlers.

(PTI) The event was organised by the Himachal Pradesh professional boxing association under the theme 'Say No to Drugs – Say Yes to Sports'. Congratulating the organisers, the governor said that the championship is a great way to honour the memory of former six-time chief minister late Raja Virbhadra Singh. He was not only a great leader but also someone who worked hard for the development of the state. He said that the participation of athletes from India and other countries sends a strong message of respect for the past and also promotes friendship and understanding through sports among people. He encouraged the youth to make sports a regular part of their lives. He said that sports not only make the body strong but also help the mind. 'A healthy youth means a strong nation. He said that playing sports keeps young people away from bad habits like drug use. 'When youth take part in sports, they stay on the right path and live meaningful lives. Sports bring discipline, fitness, and mental strength,' he added. The governor expressed a concern over the rising problem of drug abuse in the state. He said it is everyone's responsibility to save the state from drugs. He also appreciated public works minister Vikramaditya Singh for supporting such initiatives that raise awareness against substance abuse.
