
Indian forces launch Operation Nader against terrorists in Tral, heavy firing exchanged
Awantipora (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 15 (ANI): On the basis of special intelligence input, a joint operation was launched by Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Nader area of J-K's Tral in Awantipora in the morning hours of Thursday.
Suspicious activity was observed by the troops and on being challenged, the terrorists opened heavy fire on the forces. A fierce gunfight was ensued, and the operation is still underway.
The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army shared a post on their official 'X' handle and informed about the 'Operation Nader'.
'On 15 May 2025, based on specific intelligence input from Int agency, a Cordon & Search Operation was launched by Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF at Nader, Tral, Awantipora. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged, terrorists opened heavy fire and fierce gunfight ensued. Operation is in progress', the 'X' post read.
Meanwhile, following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian forces have intensified their operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Tuesday, the Indian Army, in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force, neutralised three terrorists, including the local commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba/The Resistance Front (LeT/TRF), after an encounter.
During the operation the security forces recovered AK series rifles, a large quantity of ammunition, grenades, and other war-like stores.
In a post on X, the Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) said, 'Based on inputs from intelligence agencies about the presence of terrorists in the Keller Forest of #Shopian District, Jammu & Kashmir, a joint operation was launched by #IndianArmy, @ Jmukmrpolice, and CRPF on 13 May 2025, resulting in the neutralisation of three hardcore terrorists, including the local commander of LeT/TRF, after an intense encounter.
The operation comes on the heels of India achieving stupendous success in Operation Sindoor, where precision strikes destroyed terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and eliminated nearly 100 terror operatives at key bases in Pakistan. Among the targets were Bhawalpur, the headquarters of Jaish, and Muridke, a key training base of Lashkar.
Notably, the Resistance Front (TRF) group actively involved in the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir and is designated as a terrorist organisation in India. The outfit is believed to be a part of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based UN-designated terrorist group.
The TRF has claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were killed. (ANI)

The ministry of information and broadcasting said in a statement on Sunday that the 51 speeches reflect President Murmu's vision, philosophy, and key priorities during her second year in office from August 2023 to July 2024. "The book will become a guiding light to build Viksit Bharat with progressive thoughts while preserving our glorious heritage. President Droupadi Murmu knows the importance of diversity in our country and recognises the pain of the deprived. This book proclaims the spirit of equality," Singh said. The defence minister remarked that the book brings together President Murmu's insights and ideas across a wide range of subjects, from civilisation and culture to religion, science, art, literature, education, health, and the journey from past to future. Singh asserted on President Murmu being the best example of women-led development in India. On Saturday, Singh had said that Operation Sindoor was not over yet, and that India was ready to take 'all kinds of action against terrorism' while addressing troops of the Army's Udhampur-based Northern Command on the 11th International Yoga Day. Singh had warned that the military action in Pakistan, a retaliation for the Pahalgam attack, was a clear message that it would face the consequences for supporting terror activities against India.

Police foil ‘murder plot' by Khalistan group chief
New Delhi: intercepted an arms consignment allegedly belonging to Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) chief Arsh Dala, foiling a potential targeted murder plot. According to DCP southeast (II) Aishwarya Sharma, officers from the special task force led by ACP Daleep and inspector Shiv Kumar conducted a raid based on a tip-off and apprehended Sandhu at the bus stand near ESI Hospital in Okhla. Four pistols—two of .30 bore and two of .32 bore—were recovered from him. The investigation revealed that Sandhu was procuring firearms from Madhya Pradesh-based suppliers and supplying them to Paramjeet Singh alias Pamma Bhikhi, a key member of the Arsh Dala gang in Punjab. The gang has a fierce rivalry with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, resulting in several killings in Delhi, Punjab and other states. Sandhu belongs to Mansa, Punjab. Police are interrogating him to identify other members of the gang and uncover the forward and backward linkages of arms trafficking in the case. Dala took over the reins of KTF after Hardeep Nijjar's killing by unidentified men. He has been on the 'most-wanted' list of India since he orchestrated the murder of a Hindu man in Delhi in Dec 2022. Dala, wanted for multiple criminal offences in India, fled to Canada in July 2020. He has been linked to multiple heinous crimes such as murder, extortion and targeted killings, with more than 20 FIRs registered against him. He first came on the radar of Indian agencies after his role came to the fore in the murders of two Dera Sacha Sauda followers in 2020 and 2021. In Jan 2023, Dala was declared a designated terrorist by the Union home ministry.
