The cracks in John Cena's armor are already hinting at WWE's endgame
We are starting to see the method to John Cena's madness.
The biggest thing to remember is that Cena, as a babyface, hasn't won a one-on-one match since beating Triple H at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April 2018.
It led to that character wondering if he was still good enough, if he had anything left.
He went to WrestleMania 34 as a fan and lost to an aging Undertaker. Cena then lost to rising stars such as Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 and Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel in 2023 in the match that was framed as the one that would end his losing streak.

Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn have advanced to the semifinals of the King of the Ring. Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Jade Cargill, and Roxanne Perez have all earned spots in the semifinals of the Queen of the Ring. That's not all on the docket for "Friday Night SmackDown." Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena will take on Ron "R-Truth" Killings in a rematch from their "Saturday Night's Main Event" encounter. Things are different this time, as Killings has taken a more serious approach in the ring. Can "R-Truth" stun WWE fans with an upset win? The problem for "Tiffy Time" is that she has found herself in a renewed feud with Nia Jax. Can Naomi find an opening to cash in on Friday? Advertisement Also, Solo Sikoa is set to demand an apology from Jacob Fatu following the events of "Money in the Bank 2025." Tom Brady embodies inner-heel, rips up Eli Manning jersey
Who would have ever thought legendary quarterback Tom Brady and World Wrestling Entertainment champion John Cena would both go heel (turn into a bad guy) in the same year? Brady made a grand entrance at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Friday. The event had a mini WWE entrance set, and the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback entered to former WWE champion Cody Rhodes' theme. Advertisement Brady came onstage and posed with the title on his shoulder. He then slowly made his way down the ramp, stopping to snatch a Sauce Gardner jersey from someone in the crowd, slamming it on the ground and spitting on it. As he made his way further down the ramp, he was handed an Eli Manning jersey. He held the jersey up for everyone to see and then ripped it in half. "Let's go," Brady yelled out to the crowd. Manning then came out of nowhere, jumped on Brady's back and rode him back up the ramp. It served as the perfect entertainment to kick-start the three-day event. Fanatics Fest NYC is a massive gathering featuring sports and collectibles. Fans from all over the world travel to the event to buy, sell and trade. They also have an opportunity to meet their favorite athletes and get exclusive merchandise. Advertisement Brady seemed to be in his element playing the villain role in the world of professional wrestling. His former teammate, Rob Gronkowski, had a Wrestlemania moment back in April 2017. Perhaps it's time for Brady to do the same. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook. WWE Legend Rey Mysterio Explains Why He Will Never Turn Heel
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Rey Mysterio's professional wrestling career began in 1992. Throughout his entire run, his character has never been a full-blown heel. The 50-year-old WWE Hall of Famer won two world championships, both as a babyface. He currently leads the Latino World Order faction, which he revived before WrestleMania 39. Rey Mysterio on a Potential Heel Turn During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Rey Mysterio was asked what it would take for WWE fans to turn on him. He explained that his laid-back nature would make a transition to a heel persona very difficult. He said, "They (fans) would really have to, like, push me to the edge. I mean, even my wife says, like, 'I never see you get mad at anyone but me. Like, why do you not fight? You don't fight with anyone, but when you want to fight, you fight with me.' So, I mean, it would be very hard for me to get pushed." The Closest Rey Mysterio Came to Being a Heel Mysterio did recall one period in his career when he came close to working as a heel. This was during his time in WCW as a member of the Filthy Animals. That has been the closest, but overall, my personality, my demeanor is very laidback. So, I think it would be very hard."
