Various email service providers exist in the market. The majority of users prefer the email system they learned in their childhood or the one included with their smartphone and devices. The majority of these services maintain unknown extra fees after users sign up. Your information and focus, together with your visible presence, function as the exchange for a free email service provision. Every email is scanned. Every click logged. Every contact is stored. Users find their boundary at Proton Mail. Email management serves only as a gateway to take ownership of your personal communication activities.
Any action to obtain Proton Mail requires users to make a conscious choice. You are selecting a departure from standard online environments that monitor all your conduct. Proton Mail provides users a safe zone to communicate freely because this system belongs entirely to you, without any suspicious monitoring of your words. Such implementation of choice will matter less frequently in regular communications. The defense of sending sensitive or private information stands as one of the most important occasions where Proton Mail makes a substantial impact. Proton Mail maintains your messages exclusively between you and your message recipient. Not your provider. Not an algorithm. Just the two of you.
The user-friendly nature of the service serves as a useful feature. The service requires no knowledge of cryptography for users to begin using it. Enrollment happens automatically to start writing messages. Encryption occurs automatically while you continue using the service. Using this service is effortless because you only need to begin. When contacting Proton Mail users through email, the service enables encryption without any intervention from your side. The system allows you to apply password encryption to your messages while sending to recipients outside the Proton Mail network. The service gives you enhanced protection options that you can use whenever you need them and according to your preferences.
Both devices and platforms synchronize perfectly through this application. All devices which run phone or tablet or desktop systems maintain both real-time synchronization and data protection features. This application stays away from presenting features which you never requested. The program delivers an easy-to-use workspace for secure message delivery which does not offer any distractions.
The issue of trust comes into play as the deciding factor. The email service operates from Switzerland, which stands out for its strict privacy regulations. Government laws safeguard your data alongside technical protections that secure it. Such reassurance about data security is exceptionally difficult to locate in other systems.
The normal state of data breaches and targeted advertising combined with surveillance makes ProtonMail stand out as an essential tool for reclaiming privacy. The platform shows you how email used to operate during its early days when it provided three fundamental characteristics: privacy and personal touch along with user-friendly design. The service is definitely for you if this description fits your view of email services.
In addition to its mail service, Proton also offers its users access to other office tools like Proton Drive (cloud storage), Proton Calendar, Proton VPN and Proton Pass (to manage passwords securely).

Apollo to invest £4.5bn in EDF's UK energy projects

Asset manager Apollo has announced that its managed affiliates, funds and strategic accounts will invest up to £4.5bn ($6.04bn) in fixed-rate callable notes issued by Électricité de France (EDF). EDF is issuing the notes as part of its €50bn Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme. The proceeds from the investment will be directed primarily into financing EDF's operations in the UK, including the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station. The deal is one of the largest sterling-denominated note issuances on record. It reinforces Apollo's long-standing history with French entities, in which it has been actively investing for nearly three decades. Apollo Partner Jamshid Ehsani stated: 'Apollo is pleased to provide this bespoke, large-scale financing to EDF in support of its vital role in advancing European energy sovereignty and power infrastructure, including in the UK.' 'This landmark transaction highlights our deepening partnership with the French government and EDF and reaffirms our commitment to being a premier capital provider to leading European companies. This is the largest-ever capital funding transaction executed by EDF and the largest private credit transaction in the sterling market.' Legal aspects of the transaction were handled by Latham & Watkins and Kirkland & Ellis representing Apollo, while BNP Paribas offered financial advice and Hogan Lovells provided legal counsel to EDF. Sructuring and arrangement services for the transaction are being facilitated by Apollo Capital Solutions Europe, further strengthening their role in shaping large-scale investments within the power industry. In December 2024, the Hinkley Point C nuclear facility successfully installed the UK's first new nuclear reactor in more than 30 years. "Apollo to invest £4.5bn in EDF's UK energy projects" was originally created and published by Power Technology, a GlobalData owned brand.

UK's GCA to probe Amazon for alleged delays in supplier payments

UK's GCA launches probe into Amazon alleged delays in supplier payments The UK's Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA) has initiated a probe into Amazon after concerns about alleged potential violations of regulations governing the timely payment to suppliers. The inquiry stems from suspicions that Amazon may have violated paragraph 5 of the code (no delay in payments) between 1 March 2022 and 20 June 2025. It will particularly scrutinise practices since 1 January 2024 to gain a comprehensive understanding of Amazon's current procedures. The investigation will assess the extent of any breaches, their impact on suppliers and the underlying causes. The GCA will examine Amazon's practices related to receiving goods, payment processes, handling supplier concerns about payment deductions and the use of settlements od deductions in its commercial negotiations. The GCA's decision to investigate follows previous interactions with Amazon. Mark White, the adjudicator, informed Amazon in 2024 that it must take decisive action to adhere to the code. White stated: 'Delays in payment can significantly harm suppliers. The alleged delays could expose Amazon suppliers to excessive risk and unexpected costs, potentially affecting their ability to invest and innovate. 'I decided to launch this targeted investigation based on the range of evidence I have seen from multiple sources. It will allow me to determine whether Amazon has breached paragraph 5 of the Groceries Code and the root cause of any breach.' The GCA states that despite Amazon's subsequent efforts, further detailed evidence from suppliers requires targeted investigation into payment practices. Reports have been received of other Groceries Code issues at Amazon. The GCA continues to work with Amazon to resolve these matters and remains prepared to initiate further investigations if required. White has called upon direct suppliers and stakeholders to contribute evidence and share their experiences of supplying to Amazon, as part of the GCA's evidence-gathering process for the ongoing investigation, stating: 'All responses will be completely confidential.' In June 2025, Amazon announced plans to downsize its corporate staff as it integrates generative AI technology into its business processes.
