
Al-Tijaria, CSCEC sign strategic MOU with to collaborate on govt-tendered projects

KUWAIT: The Commercial Real Estate Company (Al-Tijaria), one of Kuwait's leading real estate companies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd (CSCEC), a global construction giant based in China, to jointly explore and collaborate on a range of strategically selected development projects tendered by governmental authorities in Kuwait.
This agreement establishes the framework for collaborative efforts in conducting technical and financial feasibility studies during the bidding phase with CSCEC, who will perform these services in the capacity of the prospective construction contractor, subject to the viability of the project and the successful award of the contract. The partnership also outlines a framework for CSCEC to potentially invest in the projects alongside Al-Tijaria—subject to regulatory and authority approvals. CSCEC, in its capacity as the contractor, may also extend its support by introducing potential lenders to facilitate project financing arrangements on competitive terms.

‘Secured schools' to serve as an alternative place for Husseiniyas

Major General Al-Muneefi welcomed the attendees and stressed the importance of adhering to Decree-Law No. 73/2025, which amends certain provisions of Law No. 26/1961 concerning the national flag of the State of Kuwait. Article 1 of the decree prohibits the raising of flags and slogans that symbolise religious, social, tribal groups, or sects. During the meeting, Major General Al-Muneefi affirmed the importance of adhering to security regulations and instructions governing religious rituals. He highlighted the ban on setting up tents, blocking streets, using loudspeakers outside Husseiniyas, and organising marches. KFAED, UNIDO ink deal to support fragile states KUWAIT: The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) illuminated its headquarters in blue on Thursday in solidarity with refugees worldwide, reaffirming its humanitarian commitment on the occasion of World Refugee Day. The symbolic gesture reflects Kuwait's longstanding support for displaced populations and its call for international solidarity to alleviate their suffering. Acting Director General of KFAED, Waleed Al-Bahar, stressed in a press statement that both the State of Kuwait and the Fund have played a vital role in extending aid to refugees globally, working in collaboration with various UN agencies and international organizations dedicated to refugee and human rights issues. Al-Bahar noted that the Fund maintains strong partnerships with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and UNICEF.
