Kai Cenat and Drake to stream and collaborate on a music video

American streaming sensation Kai Cenat and Canadian rapper Drake will be on a live stream together on June 12.
They will be reviewing submissions for a contest the pair hosted to find concepts for Drake's, Somebody Loves Me music video.
Drake's latest album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U , was created in collaboration with singer and songwriter PartyNextDoor. PartyNextDoor also happens to be the first artist Drake signed to his OVO Sound music label.
The trap soul duo invited up-and-coming directors to pitch their best motifs and concepts for the video. The talent search, launched by Drake and PartyNextDoor, invited aspiring directors to pitch ideas for the video, with 20 winners receiving $15 000 each (267 424.50 ZAR) to bring their concepts to life.
This whole thing first came to be when a sizeable portion of the live stream chat on Cenat's popular Twitch stream said they felt the last video Drake released was subpar.
The rapper then insisted they direct his next one. The 20 chosen creators will contribute a short clip ranging between 30 seconds to a minute each. These will be stitched together and curated by Cenat and his collective Any Means Possible (AMP).
Submissions for the contest closed on May 24, with both Cenat and Drake raving about some entries and critiquing others.
The rise of social media has meshed with the music industry, with TikTok challenges garnering artists critical acclaim in this era. A slightly more artful approach has been what streamers and YouTubers have been able to cultivate.
Drake has been making a point of joining streamers for sessions and locally we have even seen rappers like Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C embrace Twitch.
None more so than Cenat. He has become somewhat of an authority on newer music tastes because of his widely enjoyed reviews.
This collaboration surprises fans. Cenat was unexpectedly mentioned in Drake's lawsuit against Universal Music Group involving his globally recognised defeat to Kendrick Lamar, last year. So far, the mood between the two appears to be amicable.

Joey Chestnut returns to Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest: Is the record in danger?

Competitive eating icon Joey Chestnut is set to make his triumphant return to the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest next month, after missing last year's event due to a sponsorship dispute. Chestnut, a 16-time champion and holder of the world record with 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes (set in 2021), announced his comeback on social media this week. 'This event means the world to me,' Chestnut wrote on X. 'It's a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life.' Chestnut missed the 2024 competition following a disagreement with Major League Eating (MLE) over his endorsement deal with Impossible Foods, a plant-based company. However, he emphasised that his involvement in the plant-based space never conflicted with his love for traditional hot dogs. 'I'm excited to be back on the Coney Island stage, doing what I live to do… Stay hungry!' he added. Major League Eating president Richard Shea confirmed the excitement, calling Joey Chestnut's return a moment that will make the 2025 contest 'the greatest Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest of all time.' Last year's champions were: Patrick Bertoletti , who ate 58 hot dogs to win the men's title , who ate 58 hot dogs to win the men's title Miki Sudo, who claimed her title with 51 hot dogs in the women's division The 2025 contest will take place as usual on Friday, 4 July at Coney Island in New York. Tyler Perry hit with explosive lawsuit over alleged misconduct

Director and filmmaker Tyler Perry is facing a $260 million (4.69 billion ZAR) lawsuit. This was filed by an actor alleging sexual harassment, assault and professional retaliation. Actor Derek Dixon filed the lawsuit at the Los Angeles Superior Court in early June 2025. It highlights an array of alleged instances that occurred between 2019 and 2021. Dixon, who was cast in Perry productions like The Oval and Ruthless , said that Perry used his influence and his power to create a coercive working environment. Within this environment, career advancements were offered in exchange for Dixon entertaining sexual propositions. Dixon alleges inappropriate physical contact and two instances of assault, one of which he claims occurred at Perry's home in Atlanta, Georgia. The complaint also outlined what Dixon alleges he endured whenever he declined these advances. His roles were reduced and minimised and any prospects were no longer being afforded to him. His legal team has alluded to a pattern of this kind of treatment happening at the Tyler Perry Studios. Perry's legal team headed by Matthew Boyd was quick to oppose these claims, referring to the lawsuit as 'A baseless shakedown. There is zero truth to these claims and Mr Perry will defend himself vigorously,' Boyd stated. This news has made global headlines, and as of yet, no court date has been set. Dixon does run the risk of these claims being thrown out or dismissed and this could have adverse effects on his career but If Dixon is in the right, however, Perry's empire, which was built on upstanding morals and just intentions, might take a knock. This is the first time Perry has been linked to allegations of this nature. In 2012 he was involved in a case involving copyright infringement and in 2008 he was embroiled in a labour dispute with the Writers Guild.
