Crime drama written by Glasgow doorman to screen at TV festival
The festival, which runs from May 29 to June 1, is the creation of Scottish author, producer, and screenwriter Claire Duffy.
It aims to spotlight Glasgow's TV talent while driving change to help the crisis-hit Scottish TV industry.
Now, a new event has been added to the festival line-up.
On Saturday, May 31, there will be a Q&A and special screening event of the Glasgow crime drama Concrete Jungle.
The drama, which has attracted a large audience on STV Player since its release, was written by former Glasgow doorman Anton O'Donnell.
Anton will appear at the special Glasgow screening to discuss the creation of his hit show.

This adds to the long list of events planned for the festival, including the Glasgow Telly Legends Pick of the Pilots Event on Thursday, May 29, from 7.30pm to 9pm at Maison by Glaschu.
A host of Scottish TV talent, including actors Colin McCredie, Blythe Duff, Sanjeev Kohli, Jordan Young, Karen Bartke, Chris Forbes, Siobhan Redmond, and Maureen Beattie, are involved in the festival activities and events.
The festival will feature a series of events across the city, spotlighting Glasgow's writers, producers, directors, and actors.
The Glasgow public, known for its direct feedback, will be key to spotting potential TV hits through an innovative audience feedback app.
The festival opens with a panel discussion from stars and creators of some of the most iconic Glasgow series.
The final cast has also been revealed for the TV Pilot Open Mic Night, taking place at BAAD on Sunday, June 1, from 2pm to 4pm.

The festival said it was not 'totally surprised' that tickets for the sold-out event, on August 23, had proved to be popular. Thought I might actually make this happen, with only about 900 people ahead of me when queue opened and it moving rapidly. 'Had no idea only about 300 tickets available. Dream trip to Scotland coming up and this would have been amazing. Going to continue manifesting this. Not giving up all hope just yet.' The Scottish actor, who is soon to make his Royal Shakespeare Company debut in Macbeth, is also to discuss the significance of cocktails in his journey to stardom during the event.

Edinburgh Folk & Food Festival – combining music and food in George Square
The full line-up for the Edinburgh Folk & Food Festival, returning to George Square Gardens from Friday 18 – Sunday 27 July 2025 has been announced. In just one month's time, this event will take over two venues in Assembly Festival's George Square Gardens the Palais du Variété Spiegeltent and the new Piccolo Kitchen — offering a lively programme of free and ticketed events, from markets and masterclasses to workshops, quizzes and live music. MasterChef star, food author and broadcaster Sarah Rankin is set to host several conversations in the Piccolo Kitchen with a variety of recognisable faces from the Scottish food scene, including writer and presenter Rosie Morton, celebrated librarian and promoter of Scottish heritage Amina Shah, and speakers from both Edinburgh Food Social and Nourish Scotland, charities which work to provide a fairer, healthier and more sustainable food system in Scotland. Sarah Rankin said: 'I'm thrilled to be hosting the Edinburgh Food and Folk Festival in our new home at the Piccolo Kitchen. We've got some incredible Scottish talent from across the food scene with top chefs, caterers, food writers, and broadcasters. We'll be cooking, chatting and showcasing the best of Scotland's larder. There will be a special charity quiz night in partnership with Goose's Quizzes, taking place in the Palais du Variété on Thursday 24 July. Known for their lively and interactive events, Goose's Quizzes will lead a night of fun and fundraising, with all proceeds supporting local organisations, Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, St Columba's Hospice, and Edinburgh Food Social. During both weekends, the centre of the Gardens will have two markets, each set in its own vibrant marquee. The first weekend, Friday 18 – Sunday 20 July, will feature a vintage clothing market, where festivalgoers can browse rails of retro fashion and timeless treasures. From Thursday 24 – Sunday 27 July, a Producers Market will take centre stage, showcasing high-quality, locally made food and drink. Returning to the garden Fruin Ceilidh Band will once again lead traditional dancing in the beautiful Palais du Variété on Saturday 19 July. Following an unforgettable night in 2024, this promises to be one of the festival's standout events — a celebration of music and culture not to be missed. This jam-packed programme launch follows the previously announced line-up of folk talent set to join the festival for the first time this year. Urgent warning ahead of Lana Del Rey's Glasgow concert
Lana Del Rey is set to host a gig at Hampden Park in the Southside this week. The pop sensation will perform at the Scottish stadium on Thursday, June 26. The 39-year-old superstar, from New York, is known for her megatunes, including Summertime Sadness, Young and Beautiful, Cinnamon Girl, and Say Yes To Heaven. Ahead of the event, ScotRail has urged concert-goers travelling by rail to buy their return train tickets in advance. They have also warned music fans that queuing systems will be in place at Glasgow Central before the show and at Mount Florida, the nearest station to Hampden, after the gig. 'We're doing everything we can to support travel to the event, including running extra services before and after the concert.' A ScotRail spokesperson added: "To ensure a smooth journey, concertgoers are encouraged to head back to Mount Florida station promptly after the event finishes. "Extra staff will be on hand to make sure everything goes smoothly, helping to direct customers onto trains and ensure they have the best possible experience when travelling. "
