A TRENDY clothing chain has abruptly shut another store ahead of disappearing from the high street forever.
Monki, which is owned by H&M, has quietly closed down it's flagship store on Carnaby Street in London.

Monki has closed down its store on Carnaby Street in London.
It draws a line under a 12-year stint on the popular London shopping street known for housing funky brands.
The store has now vanished as H&M continues with its plans to integrate the brand with another one of its fashion lines, Weekday.
News of the closure will come a blow to shoppers, who in the past described it as their "favourite store" in the world.
While another fan said the clothes were "amazing quality" and "look so good".
H&M already pulled the shutters on Monki branches across Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Sheffield earlier this year.
Remaining stores in Bristol and Glasgow will also close later this year or be transformed into a new concept store.
Monki's online store has also closed down with the brand now only available to shop through the revamped Weekday website.

As part of the process, H&M has also revived its Cheap Monday brand and begun selling it in select Weekday stores and online.
The fashion line was a hit during the early noughties, but H&M axed it in 2018, blaming poor sales.
The brand has rolled out collaborations with Landon Barker, the step-son of Kourtney Kardashian, as it looks to grab the attention of young shoppers.
Weekday currently has five locations in the UK, all of which are in London.
Like Monki, it caters towards a younger audience and sells trendy fashion pieces.
TROUBLE ON THE HIGH STREET
High street retailers have been struggling to compete with the likes of Shein and Temu, which sell fast fashion products at an ultra-low price.
The rising cost of living has also meant that customers have less money to part with when they do hit the shops.
This cocktail of rising costs and changing consumer habits has battered the high street over the last few years, with a number of popular brands reducing their estates.
River Island will shutter a branch in Banbury on June 28, as it is set to undergo a restructuring due to tough trading conditions.
The fashion brand, which has been sported by Paris Fury and Cat Deeley, has quietly closed a number of stores in the past few months.
A branch in Willows Place, Corby closed in April and a separate site in Vicar Lane Shopping Centre in Chesterfield closed in the same month.
Elsewhere, New Look has closed its entire estate in the Republic of Ireland.
Earlier this year, Select Fashion closed 35 branches across the UK after it entered into liquidation.
Ted Baker was also forced to close over 30 stores last year after it went bust.

H&M sales expected to edge higher as turnaround continues
H&M investors will be hoping the high street fashion chain shows it is on the road to recovery next week despite caution among many shoppers. The retailer is expected to report a slight rise in sales for the latest quarter in an update on Thursday June 26 as it continues with its turnaround strategy. It comes after the Swedish firm reported weaker-than-expected sales for the first quarter of its financial year in its previous update in March. H&M saw net sales grow 2% to 55.3 billion Swedish krona (£4.24 billion) for the three months to February 28. However, it flagged that this slowed down to 1% in March amid continued pressure on consumer finances. Sales growth was also knocked by H&M's plans to trim its store estate and help simplify its operations over the past year. H&M said it had 40 net store closures over the quarter and has continued to shut sites in recent months. The overhaul of its store estate is part of a major turnaround plan under Daniel Erver, who became chief executive last year. The group, which also owns & Other Stories and Cos, is seeking to accelerate recent sluggish growth. Deutsche Bank's Adam Cochrane stressed however that trading in the latest quarter is 'unlikely to be the turning point'. He added: 'H&M is progressing through its turnaround but there will be relatively limited evidence of this in Q2, given the unhelpful weather conditions around Europe and the impact of negative currency exchange translation. 'Our updated earnings forecast of 5.6 billion Swedish krona is showing a 21% decline year-on-year, better than 42% in Q1 but still hard to provide evidence of a sustainable turnaround.' Mr Cochrane added that a build up in stock inventory at the end of the first quarter is unlikely to have completely unwound in recent months and could pose 'a further problem' going into the second half of the year. Deutsche Bank predicted H&M would see sales growth slow to 1.5% for the latest quarter but indicated this would be a roughly 5% drop once currency rates are taken into account. Jefferies equity analyst James Grzinic is more pessimistic, pointing to growth of 0.5% for the quarter. He said the brokerage is taking a 'more cautious view' to H&M's recent trading, after signs that the rival Chinese platforms are 'losing momentum' in the US.

The park is being sold by agents Sheridan Keane who say the sale reflects an 'attractive' yield of 7%. The retail park comprises four single-storey units with metal-clad exteriors, glazed shopfronts which look onto the car park and service access to the rear. The site also hosts 530 car parking spaces and is neighbours with an adjacent Asda store and McDonalds drive thru restaurant, which helps to attract customers. The park was once the site of a former Homebase store, which closed in 2018, as part of a UK-wide restructuring when the home improvement firm was sold to Hilco for £1. The building was then split into two new units and let to Aldi and Home Bargains. Bargain supermarket Aldi opened in October 2021, which was attended by Olympic rower Karen Bennett, part of Team GB. The new store created 35 jobs in the area and has emerged as one of the park's strongest performers, with £17.9m turnover in the year to December 2023. B&M, which has extended to add a garden centre, reported a £4.4m in turnover last year, while Home Bargains reported £4.2m, as reported by the Press and Journal. Matalan generated £1.1m in the year to February 2024 and has sublet 10,000 sq ft to Argos until 2029. Why are so many shops going bust? Portlethen Retail Park serves a catchment population of around 500,000 and is strategically positioned on one of the north-east's main arterial roads. It is being marketed for sale for £18,150,000. Agents say the site offers a secure income profile with 'undoubted covenants' and a tenant mix aligned with current consumer demand for value-led retail. Shoppers in the area spend around £19m a year on non-food items, providing strong demand for retailers. For shoppers, the sale won't mean any changes. All four main stores – Aldi, Home Bargains, B&M and Matalan – are staying put, and the retail park will continue to operate as normal under new ownership.
