Emirates Is Dishing Out Free Ice Cream
The sorbet hits different when it's free, you're at DXB, and it's 47 degrees outside.
Summer at DXB hits hard. Emirates knows it. So instead of just offering legroom and hot towels, they're wheeling out ice cream carts.
From June 6th to July 20th, passengers flying out of Terminal 3 get treated to a free scoop every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flavours include mango, strawberry, chocolate, passionfruit, and raspberry—served with just enough chill to make gate delays slightly more tolerable.
The carts are Emirates-branded, the presentation is polished, and the energy is giving 'pre-boarding serotonin hit.' Call it a sweet flex, or just good PR with a waffle cone.
With Eid travel peaking and the airport moving at full throttle, Emirates is also gently nudging travellers to check in online and use remote drop-offs. But let's be honest—you're here for the scoop.

Backstage: Ahmed Eid at Nawafiz Festival
Ahmed Eid uses music to tell layered, political stories and calls for louder voices and unity in difficult times. Jun 17, 2025 Palestinian multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Ahmed Eid operates from a space where music is a form of communication. For Eid, the role of the musician exists somewhere between a messenger and a magician. There's always a message that needs to be delivered, but in a way that cuts through tactfully, especially in a time where art and politics can no longer be separated. Ahead of his live performance at Nawafiz festival in Utrecht, the Netherlands, we caught up with Eid, who shed some insight into his approach and messaging. His songwriting doesn't lean on slogans or direct language. Instead, it unfolds through layered, sometimes metaphorical storytelling. There's often a political current running through the work, but it doesn't announce itself loudly, with the emotion, detail, and context doing all the talking. Splitting his time between Palestine and Germany, Eid is no stranger to the ways repression and censorship can show up. He's seen firsthand how European institutions try to silence voices like his, which only strengthens his conviction to speak louder, clearer, and more collectively. This is why Eid states that it is more important than ever for artists to raise their voices even louder, and for Arab communities to come together in these difficult times. Swarovski Unveils Summer Terrace Takeover at Cracco Portofino in Italy
The Austrian crystal brand reveals a new terrace experience at one of Portofino's most prominent dining destinations. This summer, the glamour of Swarovski meets the charm of the Italian Riviera as the Austrian crystal house transforms the terrace of Cracco Portofino into a sparkling seasonal escape. Overlooking the marina and shaded in signature hues, the new Swarovski Terrace invites guests into a branded experience that fuses coastal leisure with precision design—just in time for the height of the Portofino social calendar. Building on the concept first introduced during the 'Masters of Light: From Vienna to Milan' exhibition in 2024, the new Portofino iteration carries over similar aesthetic elements, including the use of vibrant colours and crystal-themed decor. The outdoor terrace has been redesigned with branded parasols, a welcome desk at sea level, and a Swarovski-branded octagonal frame positioned for scenic photographs. Guests visiting the terrace will be able to sample a curated menu featuring sweet and savoury items, including a bespoke cocktail and dessert developed in collaboration with chef Carlo Cracco. The dishes will be served on Swarovski x Rosenthal porcelain tableware, designed by Swarovski's Global Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert. Located along the Gulf of Tigullio, Cracco Portofino is known for highlighting regional ingredients through a fine dining lens. The Swarovski Terrace activation introduces a branded experience without disrupting the core culinary focus of the restaurant. Reservations can now be made through Cracco Portofino Restaurant, though limited walk-in seating is also available.
