Lucy Spraggan reveals she can only speak to Simon Cowell via his partner Lauren Silverman for an unusual reason despite their close bond

Daily Mail12 hours ago

Lucy Spraggan has revealed she can only speak to Simon Cowell through his partner Lauren Silverman despite their close bond.
The singer, 33, and the music mogul, 65, have developed a good friendship over the years with Simon even walking Lucy down the aisle at her wedding to Emilia Smith.
But contacting Simon doesn't come easy as the former X Factor star admitted he doesn't have his own mobile phone.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: 'I speak to Lauren all the time. But Simon hasn't got a phone so I speak to him when she's on the phone!'
However, Lucy and her wife have stayed with Simon and Lauren in their luxurious homes in LA and the Cotswolds on several occasions and they've even gone on holiday to Barbados together.
Lucy recalled: 'He read a poem at our ceremony, which was cute. And he said to me, 'I love seeing you this happy'.
It appears Simon's son Eric is taking after his father in the music department as Lucy told how the 11-year-old gave her advice on her new album Other Sides Of The Moon which was released on Friday.
She said: 'Eric actually gave me advice for the drums for this album. He's like a mini Simon. He's very funny. He's very, very smart and he knows exactly what he wants that kid.'
The singer didn't meet Simon while she was taking part in The X Factor in 2012 because he wasn't a judge on her series.
The pair didn't become friends until years later in 2021 after Simon reached out to her under less than happy circumstances.
In 2023, Lucy revealed that during her time on The X Factor, she was raped by a porter in the hotel room where she was staying after partying with Rylan Clark.
At the time, when she quit the show, it was said to be down to illness.
Revealing the assault for the first time in her autobiography, Process, she explained the illness was the strong side effects of PEP medication - a drug given to her by doctors which can prevent someone contracting HIV.
On why she decided to reveal the truth 11 years on, Lucy confessed: 'It was scary for sure, it was terrifying, but I knew that if I put it out there - everything - there was absolutely nothing I have to hide from.
'People picked up on that and they said "thank you for talking about this thing, or that thing, because it made me feel really full of shame, and I haven't got any shame about anything".
'And I think that's a nice place to be.'
Simon later reached out and apologised for how she was treated on the ITV show, with Lucy then admitting: 'His apology healed a part of my being that I didn't know needed healing.'
Asked how it felt receiving the apology, she mused: 'I think whether forgiveness is easy or not depends on the person.
'It's a lot easier to forgive somebody when they apologise, and that's something that's really big for me. I do a lot of work on forgiveness in general.
'They say like hating people is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.
'Truly in my life right now, there is nobody that I don't forgive and there's nobody that I don't wish, peace and health for in this world.'
Lucy, who was previously married to Georgina Gordon before their split in 2019, told how she and Emilia have no plans to have children.
Married life has inspired her music, witt the title of her latest album inspired by her love story.
Discussing her relationship with her wife, she recently told MailOnline: 'We'd been friends for like 10 years. Then at the same time we looked at each other and thought "I'm in love with you."
'Then I wrote the song Other Sides Of The Moon and it's about looking at the same moon.
'We'd been looking at the same moon all the time, but we were just on other sides of it. Now we're on the same side.'

Rita Ora looks incredible in a black lace bra and tiny hot pants as she performs at a summer concert in Hamburg

Rita Ora looked incredible as she performed at a summer concert in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday. The singer, 34, wore a black lace bra and tiny hot pants as she celebrated the season opening at Westfield Hamburg-íœberseequartier. She teamed her outfit with a semi-sheer snake print blouse and a pair of knee-high leather boots. Rita accessorised her outfit with oversized sunglasses and some chunky silver jewellery. The musician played a number of chart-topping hits such as Hot Right Now and Your Song. Rita was recently left cringing after a ukulele busker hopped in her car to give an impromptu performance of his original tune, Dolla Dolla. The musician known as 'Liam C', real name Liam Cowan, went viral last year for his 'cringe-worthy' serenade of Dua Lipa, 29, and has also bombarded fellow stars including Stormzy, 31, at Glastonbury Festival. Now, a new video shared by Liam on Instagram sees the musician enthusiastically playing his tune to an uncomfortable-looking Rita. At the beginning of the clip, Rita gets escorted to her car by security as she is mobbed by fans and photographers shouting out her name. Meanwhile, Liam could be seen pushing his way through people to get into Rita's car as well with his cameraman. Once inside the car, Liam introduced Rita to the camera and said: 'We just had an absolute madness.' He continued: 'Very very lovely of her to just let me come in her car so I can play her a good tune. Is that alright? Rita simply replied: 'Always.' Liam then explained what his song is about, he said: 'This is called Dollar Dollar. So, like I'm living out my rucksack, running around doing the whole Ed Sheeran thing, doing everything I can to get noticed. So this is my song about that.' As he began to strum on his ukulele, Rita's unimpressed expression said it all, and she appeared lost for words. Following his quick performance, Liam asked Rita: 'Was it good?' and she politely replied: 'I loved it.' After posting the video to his Instagram, several people flocked to the comment section to share their opinions on the 'cringe-worthy' moment. One jokingly quipped: 'Her face says it all (laughing emojis); 'She was stressed (crying emoji)'; 'She's kool but she don't like it (laughing emoji).' Last year, Liam claimed he 'blagged' his way into Glastonbury Festival without a ticket in a bid to promote his fledgling music career.

Tom Sandoval leaves judge stunned as he tries to rehabilitate image as 'most hated man in America' on AGT

With Vanderpump Rules getting a whole new cast and Schwartz and Sandy's closing down, Tom Sandoval is in need of a job. He's not on any reality TV show for the first time in more than a decade so he decided to try something new. He is auditioning for America's Got Talent and the episode with him in it airs on Tuesday, June 24. 'My name is Tom Sandoval, I was the most hated man in America,' Sandoval said in a clip shared via Instagram. He was referencing the so-called Scandoval drama that unfolded on season 10 and 11 of Vanderpump Rules when Tom cheated on his then-girlfriend Ariana Madix with friend Raquel Leviss. 'This is the chance to show who I am as a musician,' Sandoval said, while Simon Cowell quipped, 'I think I know who you are.' He then launched into a cover of the 1980s song 'Take On Me' by the band A-ha. He really threw his all into the song while wording the state in a green sequin jacket and black pants. Sandoval had five short white vertical lines under his right eye as he crooned the song with his band The Most Extras. Judges Cowell, Sofia Vergara and former Spice Girl Mel B were all shocked to see Sandoval take the stage. Cowell scowled for most of Tom's song, but in the end he did offer him a small smile. But Sofia Vergara didn't look at all comfortable with Sandoval on the stage. Sandoval still hasn't escaped the long shadow of his cheating scandal and, in fact, has yet to sell the house he and Ariana bought together. He offered an update about the house he previously shared with Ariana on a March episode of Watch What Happens Live. The 42-year-old Sandoval and 39-year-old Madix purchased the Valley Village home for $2 million back in 2019. After they split in 2023, following Sandoval cheating on her with Raquel Leviss, Madix sued her ex to get him to force him to sell the house and split the profits. Sandoval ultimately agreed to sell the home, revealing on his Everybody Loves Tom podcast in October 2024 that he's getting the house ready to be sold. 'The house is going on the market. [We are] selling the house, getting it ready,' Sandoval revealed on the podcast. However, nearly five months later, Sandoval admitted on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live that the house has not sold yet. He also clarified that he's only communicating with his ex through her lawyer. Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen asked Sandoval if the house had sold yet, and Sandoval began, 'We have not.' 'It's been a lot of work. I've been doing a lot of the heavy lifting. It's just the way that it's been. It takes awhile,' Sandoval said. When Cohen asked who was living in the house, Sandoval said, 'I am currently,' and when he asked if he's been speaking with Madix throughout the process, he said they only communicate, 'through her entertainment lawyer.' Madix ultimately moved out of the Valley Village home she once shared with Sandoval, and moved into a Hollywood Hills home last year that she purchased for $1.6 million. Sandoval previously slammed Ariana as 'petty' for turning down his offer on the $2million property, which was later revealed to be a $600,000 cash buyout. 'Ariana is making it out to be that me wanting to keep the house is a psychopath move, but it's not,' the singer told Nick Viall on the The Viall Files podcast in January.

EXCLUSIVE The reason Brooklyn Beckham has decided to set up home in LA with wife Nicola Peltz is revealed as couple's £11m Hollywood mansion exposes new twist in family feud

The real reason behind Brooklyn Beckham 's decision to give up his life in London and buy an £11 million mansion in LA has been revealed, exposing a shocking new twist in the family feud. The aspiring chef, 26, and his actress wife Nicola Peltz are in the midst of a heart-breaking rift with his parents, which led to them shunning David's epic 50th birthday celebrations. It has been claimed that Brooklyn's decision to purchase a new home in LA and put down roots in the American city was tied to him wanting to create permanent distance from his parents and their base in London and the Cotswolds. However, an insider has revealed to MailOnline that the decision was made because Brooklyn simply feels more at-home in LA after spending much of his childhood living in the US, and it has always been home to his American wife. The source shared: 'This house has nothing to do with family dynamics. David and Victoria also own property in the US, this is no different. 'Both Nicola and Brooklyn's careers are based in Los Angeles, and Brooklyn spent part of his childhood there while his father played for LA Galaxy. 'During that time, he attended school in LA for several years and built a life and friendships in the city. LA has always felt like home to him.' These revelations came as it's reported that the financial aspect of Brooklyn's new home that has sparked some tensions between his parents, and Nicola's father, billionaire Nelson Peltz. The Sun are reporting that Brooklyn does not entirely own the five-bedroom mansion, with a majority of the property owned by Nicola. Sources are now claiming that David and Victoria now feel their son is 'trapped,' especially after he signed an iron-clad prenup before he and Nicola married in 2022. However, the Peltzs have accused the Beckhams of being 'tight' and failing to support their son. It's thought that Brooklyn and Nicola's new home was largely paid for using her trust fund money, but as the creator of the fund, Nelson had to sign off releasing the funds, and the couple also contributed work savings when buying the property. Referencing David and Victoria, a source said: 'When it came to buying this house, of course they weren't just going to hand their son millions of pounds — what sort of message does that send? 'Nelson Peltz, on the other hand, is a billionaire investor and he and his wife Claudia regard Nicola, their little girl, as the apple of their eye. 'Understandably, they want to indulge her and ensure she never struggles — they expected the Beckhams, worth half a billion themselves, might match them penny for penny. Or, at least, chip in with financials as and when. 'That hasn't always happened, so they are annoyed and telling people it's a bit tight, which would utterly enrage David and Vic if they knew.' A source close to David and Victoria has disputed this, branding it 'nonsense.' And another close to Brooklyn has also hit back at claims by his parents that his 'trapped' by the arrangement They told MailOnline: 'It's disappointing—and frankly absurd—that anyone would try to twist Nicola and Brooklyn's marriage, and this meaningful milestone of home ownership, into something toxic. 'Their relationship is grounded in love, respect, and commitment. 'The suggestion that Brooklyn is 'trapped' isn't just false—it's a deliberately cruel and baseless narrative aimed at undermining a strong, loving marriage.' MailOnline has contacted representatives for Brooklyn Beckham, and David and Victoria Beckham for further comment. It comes after Brooklyn appeared to fail to publicly acknowledge Father's Day, despite his parents publicly reaching out. David had told his children: 'I will always be there, no matter what' in an emotional Father's Day Instagram post. He shared pictures of Victoria and their four children Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, laughing and looking cheery in happier times. Subtly reaching out to his eldest son, David insisted he will always be around to support all his children, even if times get tough. He wrote: 'My most important & favourite job in life is being a dad... I'm so proud of all of you and like daddy ( sorry boys ) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what... 'Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father there is no greater gift in life than making me a dad... Happy Father's Day... I love you kiddies more than you could imagine.. @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven @tedbeckhamdavid.' David continued marking the day by sharing throwback snaps of his children to his Instagram stories, including Brooklyn, and tagged him in each individual capture. Brooklyn's brother Romeo's ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull had been at the centre of the row after Nicola reportedly claimed that she felt uncomfortable around her, with sources close to the US heiress saying that Kim had dated Brooklyn when they were teenagers, which she has now denied in a statement. Sharing a statement on her Instagram page on Monday, Kim said: 'I've avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire, however it's come to a point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on. 'I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative. 'I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. David and Victoria reportedly feel their son is 'trapped,' but Nelson has reportedly accused Brooklyn's parents of being 'tight' (Nicola pictured with her father and mother Claudia) 'Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation & set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.' Things came to a head when Brooklyn and Nicola were no shows at any of David's 50th birthday celebrations last month, with The Mail revealing that Kim has been made the 'scapegoat' in the feud. They failed to attend any of football legend David's five celebrations to mark his milestone birthday, including celebrations in Miami, London, Paris the Cotswolds and a boys fishing trip to Scotland. Brooklyn then seemed to fail to publicly acknowledge his father's Knighthood for his services to sport and charity as part of the King's Birthday Honours list. David, 50, said over the weekend: 'It's been an emotional week I must admit. For me and for my family. It's obviously very special. 'It's a huge honour, but one that has been shared with myself and my family and so, it's been emotional.'
