UK regtech Cube opens London office
CUBE, a global leader in Automated Regulatory Intelligence (ARI) and Regulatory Change Management (RCM), has officially opened its new global headquarters located at the iconic City of London building, Tower 42, and confirmed the impressive growth trajectory of the company over the last year - doubling of revenue, employees and the number of countries CUBE now operates in.

The new cutting-edge AI Centre of Excellence, RegBrain AI Lab, signals the multi-million pound investment CUBE is making to advance the role of innovation and AI in regulatory intelligence, compliance and risk across the financial services sector and adjacent regulated industries. Alongside the unveiling of its new headquarters, CUBE has made a commitment to create 200 jobs over the next 12 months, half of which are expected to be based in the UK.
The opening of CUBE's new headquarters follows a transformative year of strong growth, supported by its strategic partnership with Hg, a leading investor in European and Transatlantic software and services businesses. CUBE has increased its revenue by over 200% in the last year and now serves 1,000 customers globally, and has significantly grown its global team footprint – which now stands at 700 employees across 20 countries. In the year CUBE also completed two landmark US-based acquisitions acquiring three regulatory intelligence businesses.

Martin Zubimendi announcement plan emerges as Arsenal face transfer delay
Arsenal are set to confirm Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi as their first summer signing in a major coup for Mikel Arteta Martin Zubimendi's transfer to Arsenal is not expected to be made official until July - even though the player has already travelled to London with his agent to put the finishing touches on his switch from Real Sociedad. The Spain international was in the capital on Friday to meet with Gunners officials as Mikel Arteta's side hone in on their first big statement deal of the summer window. However, Sociedad want the move to be ratified next month for their financial records as the current football financial year is due to end on June 30. Arsenal are also expected to pay slightly over Zubimendi's £51million release clause and the final fee could yet reach £55m all in. The extra £4m, though sources remain tight-lipped on the final figures at this stage, would entitle them to more favourable payment terms, spread across a longer period of time and significantly, would give them further flexibility in the market amid the tightening of PSR regulations. Real Madrid had been tipped to hijack Arsenal's swoop for the 26-year-old following Xabi Alonso's arrival at the Bernabeu but Zubimendi's impending transfer was already agreed in principle several months ago and the Gunners have long been operating with the belief that he would be joining this summer. Meanwhile, Thomas Partey's contract situation currently looks bleak as discussions have not progressed between the parties and barring any late U-turn, the Ghanaian is set to become a free agent at the end of the month. The 32-year-old has been offered to a number of top European clubs including Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in the past week but at this stage, it is still not clear where he could yet end up as his priority has always been to stay at Arsenal. If Partey does indeed depart, Arsenal will actively seek to recruit another midfielder after also losing Jorginho to Flamengo, although Zubimendi is expected to fill the void of the Ghana international at the base of Arteta's engine room. Arsenal are poised to ramp up their pursuit of new arrivals in the coming weeks with a striker still considered both Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta's top priority. Interest in RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres remains ongoing and at this moment in time, Arsenal are seemingly still yet to commit to going all-out for either player as both deals remain there to be struck. Both Sesko and Gyokeres are thought to be keen on moves to the Emirates.

Pool's future in doubt due to 'historic issues'
The future of a public swimming pool has been thrown into doubt after council officials revealed that "extensive" work was needed on the Swimming Pool has been closed since April, when part of the ceiling fell down just weeks after the facilities transferred from the management of Richmondshire Leisure Trust to North Yorkshire to the council, investigations have since uncovered "several historic issues" at the pool will remain closed for at least three months while further surveys are carried out and "all possible future options" are considered. In a statement, North Yorkshire Council said: "In addition to the essential repairs required, we also know that other areas are in urgent need of improvement and key equipment requires replacement."We now want to take more time to assess and compare all possible future options available to us, including the costs and impact of these options." The council said it appreciated the closure was disappointing and apologised for the disruption statement added: "We thank you for your ongoing patience and would like to remind customers that you can use pool facilities at our neighbouring Active North Yorkshire sites."The café and adjacent gym remain open as normal, the Local Democracy Service site was previously owned by Richmondshire District Council until it was dissolved in district authority came under fire in 2022 for giving the trust almost 5% of its income to run the services - and then having to provide an extra £75,000 in funding to cover a 400% increase in energy council also agreed to pay compensation to the trust of up to £85,000 due to lost income from issues with a £1.9m revamp, which included a new heating system and solar panels on the upgrade work took longer than expected and meant the pool had to close for several months in 2023 due to issues with the heating system. 'He was a player that I enjoyed working with on the training pitch and someone that had a real desire to do well. 'He performed well in the Eredivisie with PEC Zwolle last season and felt more comfortable back in his homeland, playing football with a smile on his face. 'His time at Hibs didn't quite work out the way we'd all planned, but I'd like to thank him for all his hard work and hope he goes on to achieve his ambitions and full potential.' Hibs held out for a tidy sum for Vente, with several clubs interested in securing him after his form back home.
