Former SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt says he disagrees with Teko Modise's side of the story about how he was sold to Orlando Pirates.
A month ago, Modise told the Izinja zeGame podcast that he was sold by SuperSport because he did not fit into Hunt's plans. Modise left SuperSport in 2007, and the club went on to win three consecutive PSL titles.
But, according to Hunt, selling the attacking midfielder was not his idea as he was planning to build the team around him. 'I'll sit in the media and I'll listen to Teko talk and he talks the biggest load of nonsense because that is not the truth,' Hunt said when speaking on Apex Sports International.
'We played a pre-season game in Australia he won Man of the Match. I was like 'We're going to build a team around this guy'. We get back and we train for a week or two.

Veteran sports broadcaster Phumlani 'Mr Versatile' Msibi dies at 57
JOHANNESBURG - The sporting fraternity is mourning the loss of veteran football broadcaster and boxing commentator Phumlani Msibi, who has passed away at the age of 57. Media house SuperSport confirmed his death. It's understood he died after a short illness. The Durban-born storyteller known for his iconic line, 'Coach, thoughts please?', made history as SuperSport's first isiZulu-English boxing commentator, and became a beloved football anchor following the Premier Soccer League (PSL) broadcast deal in 2007. Dubbed 'Mr Versatile', he was a fixture on shows like Soccer Africa and Mzansi Legends , and was celebrated for his insight, humility and passion.

Tributes pour in for sports broadcaster Phumlani Msibi
The passing of football, boxing and horse racing pundit Phumlani Msibi was announced on Friday night Beloved sports broadcaster Phumlani Msibi has passed away at the age of 57. Tributes poured in from across the sporting industry and beyond following the announcement of the sad news on Friday night. From sports personalities to politicians, the dedications to Msibi illustrated the man's special place in the hearts of South Africans. Tributes to Msibi Msibi began his career at the South African Broadcasting Corporation before moving over to Multichoice's Supersport. Supersport CEO Rendani Ramovha acknowledged Msibi's sterling reputation and professionalism in a tribute late on Friday night. 'Msibi's loss will be felt not just by the broadcaster and the football fraternity, but by the whole sporting community at large. We are gravely saddened by his passing,' stated Ramovha. A feature of local and continental football coverage, as well as one of the premier voices of South African boxing, Msibi was also an avid horse racing pundit. 'Thoughts please' Fellow broadcaster Thomas Kwenaite shared a touching message on social media for his departed colleague.
