MUSCAT, April 10: The Kuwaiti tent pegging team secured silver and bronze medals during the third edition of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Beach Games, currently being held in Muscat, Oman, from April 5 to 11.
Rider Abdullah Al-Daihani clinched the silver medal in the individual saber competition, while the Kuwaiti national team earned the bronze medal in the team saber event following a strong overall performance.
The tent pegging competitions featured individual, pair, and team saber events. The final day saw intense contests in the 'ring and lemon' challenges, as well as saber and javelin relay events.
The Kuwaiti tent pegging squad includes riders Hussein Al-Ajmi, Abdullah Al-Hindi, Ibrahim Al-Enezi, Abdullah Al-Daihani, and Ghannam Al-Ajmi, led by coach Rashid Al-Marri and assistant Ali Al-Bin Ali.
With these results, Kuwait's medal count at the GCC Beach Games has reached six medals:
1 silver: Abdullah Al-Daihani (individual saber)
5 bronze:
Khaled Al-Masoud (high jump)
Mohammed Ashkanani (triple jump)
Ali Anki, Hamad Al-Masoud, Badr Bu Hamad, and Abdulaziz Al-Mansour (Optimist sailing team)

'I am proud of our players,' he added. 'Even if the results don't reflect our aspirations, this is just the beginning of a promising journey. We believe in the potential of our young athletes.' Al-Gharib extended his gratitude to the Public Authority for Sports and the Federation for their continued support. He also congratulated the Qatari Squash Federation on its achievements. In his role as Vice President of the Asian Squash Federation, Al-Gharib had the honor of presenting an award to Qatari player Abdulla Al-Tamimi for securing second place in the championship.

His remarks came during a reception held for the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the Tunis International Paralympic Athletics Meeting. The delegation was led by Nasser Al-Ajmi, Chairman of the Kuwait Paralympic Athletics Committee. It included delegation member Fahad Al-Mutairi and athletes Faisal Sorour, Dhari Batti, and Nasser Faraj. Ambassador Al-Omar congratulated the athletes on their outstanding performances and medal wins, commending their dedication and wishing them continued success in future events. For his part, delegation head Nasser Al-Ajmi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and the support provided by the Kuwaiti Embassy in facilitating the delegation's entry and easing logistical challenges at the airport.
