Shoppers praise 'dream product' that prolongs fake tan and sells every 20 seconds

As the weather warms up, achieving a radiant, sun-kissed look becomes a top priority on many people's summer beauty checklist. However, while we all strive for that golden glow, it's equally crucial to shield ourselves from the sun's damaging rays, which makes self-tanning products and SPF-infused body oils some of the best pre-holiday purchases.
Beauty aficionados have long praised Coco & Eve, with the brand's popular Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam (£26) selling at an impressive rate of one every 20 seconds. Now, the brand has taken things up a notch with its latest product: the Tan Boosting Anti-Aging Body Oil SPF50 (£29), designed to prolong your tan's lifespan under the sun.
This multitasking oil is formulated to not only nourish the skin, but provide robust SPF50 protection against UVA/UBV rays, and enhance natural tan. The lightweight, non-oily formula is perfect for topping up your colour whilst keeping your skin protected and silky smooth. Plus, it boasts a delightful fragrance of ripe pear, creamy almond, coconut and mango, reports the Manchester Evening News.
In terms of holiday preparation, we suggest using the Bali Bronzing Foam or the Sun-Kissed Gradual Tan Lotion a few days before your trip. Once your tan has developed, apply the Body Oil daily to moisturise your skin and preserve that fresh-from-the-beach look. It'll help extend your tan's longevity while imparting a glossy, healthy shine to your skin.
For those looking to soak up the sun, apply the SPF oil liberally before heading out. After a day of sun exposure, consider following up with a calming after-sun lotion or aloe vera to soothe the skin.
If this option doesn't convince you, there are numerous other body oils with SPF that can help enhance your glow. For example, NUXE's Sun Tanning Oil, priced at £24, is rich in botanical extracts and vitamin E, leaving the skin feeling smooth and radiant.
Alternatively, The Fox Tan Rapid Elixir, now £19.99 (reduced from £24.99) at LookFantastic, comes highly recommended by MEN's Fashion and Beauty Editor, Rachel Pugh. This formula prepares the skin for sun exposure and can be used daily or three to five days prior to going out in the sun.
Although it's a new launch, Coco & Eve's Body Oil has already garnered positive reviews. One fan said: "It's a miracle that I got a tan without burning. I like how this oil is hydrating; it left my skin feeling silky smooth."
A second added: "It gave my skin a beautiful glow without feeling greasy. It's incredibly hydrating, perfect for my aging skin, and the added sun protection is a bonus. A new staple in my skincare routine."
The product currently has no negative reviews; however, one user reported experiencing a 'heat rash after three days of using the SPF30 version. ' An advocate for SPF50 shared their enthusiasm, remarking: "I'm someone who burns easily and always has a coat of self-tan on. This is the only oil that doesn't make me burn or ruin my self-tan. Most oils make my self-tan separate, but this doesn't affect it at all."
They continued to praise the product saying, "I love how it keeps me protected while allowing me to get a tan. It smells amazing and absorbs fast, leaving a hydrated, glow finish with no residue. I have ."

The summer solstice and a look at the last full moon

This is the point in the year when the Sun reaches its most northerly position in the sky, marking the astronomical start of summer for the northern half of the globe, whilst for the southern half, the day marks the astronomical start of winter. 'Midsummer' marks the 'longest day' and the 'shortest night' of the year with the maximum amount of daylight hours possible, and the fewest number of night hours. The recent full Moon was of particular interest as it was not only one of the furthest full Moons of the year, but the lowest full Moon in 19 years, barely making its way above the horizon at the very minimum of altitudes. This all meant that June's Strawberry Full Moon was at a point astronomers refer to as a 'lunar standstill' or 'lunistice', and if we didn't catch the event in 2025, we'd have to wait until June 2043 when it was next set to occur. With unfavourable conditions on both Monday, June 9, and the night of the full Moon itself, Tuesday, June 10, it was left to Wednesday evening as the last chance saloon. On the night in question, I teamed up with Pontypool-based photographer Matt Jones. The first choice of site to view the spectacle was the Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre where we'd hope to catch the Moon against the spectacular backdrop of Pen y Fan. However, having moved position from the visitor centre to what we thought was a slightly better vantage point just along the mountain road, it became evident that the Moon was not going to sufficiently clear the mountains to be visible, so a revised plan was required. The next attempt was at Bwlch where the Moon's yellowy glow could be seen projecting itself from behind a ridge but still too low to actually see it. Onward we pressed into Crickhowell which again failed to deliver before heading through Govilon and swinging back to climb up to the Keeper's Pond in Blaenavon. Here, tucked in off the main road, the Moon finally availed itself and being completely unscientific, its portrayal was straight off an artist's canvas. Subtly shrouded at times by a thin layer of cloud at a lower level, it was quite mesmerising to watch. With the light of the Moon at such a low position in the night sky and passing through the thickest layer of the Earth's atmosphere, it had taken on a distinct mellow yellow guise before gradually appearing less so, (more the familiar 'white' appearance), as it slowly climbed during the very early hours of Thursday morning. With cloud occasionally passing in front of the Moon, the pursuit had been well worth it, with a definite sense of fulfilment. Thanks to Matt's persistence and determination, he captured this tremendous image of the Moon that night. The International Space Station's changing orbital path means that this week it cannot be seen from our skies. Send your astrophotography pictures to: thenightsky@

Ryanair plane from UK crashes on runway moments after landing

Holidaymakers were left frightened after a Ryanair flight crashed into a barrier shortly after landing. The Boeing 737 had landed at Kalamata International Airport from London Stansted to Kalamata International Airport when the incident happened. Passengers on the flight FR6080 had reportedly endured 'severe turbulence' during the three-and-a-half-hour flight. The Boeing Max plane had left the UK airport at about 7.30am yesterday, and it headed to the holiday hotspots on the Peloponnese peninsula. Just before landing, the pilot warned of a rough landing ahead, a source told the Sun. After touching down on the runway, something went wrong. The source told the outlet: 'The crew said it was going to be a bumpy landing. 'But while it was taxi-ing down the runway towards the red and white barrier at the end, the plane turned and everyone heard this loud banging sound.' Passengers and crew could 'feel the impact,' they said. Furious passengers took aim at the airline after the nightmare landing and after allegedly being told to stay put after the smash. The source said: 'There was an announcement that everyone had to wait on the plane for the fire brigade. 'With the wing damaged the way it was, why wouldn't you evacuate the plane first?' 'Everyone was scared – it was the fact they said wait on the plane even though there was clearly a risk of fire.' More Trending A Ryanair spokesperson told Metro: 'This flight from London Stansted to Kalamata (18 June) was taxiing to stand when the wing tip came in contact with a fence at Kalamata Airport. 'The aircraft subsequently continued to stand, and passengers disembarked normally. The aircraft then underwent the required inspections and maintenance prior to its return to service.' The aviation industry is reeling from the Air India disaster, which killed 270 people, most of them passengers, while people also died on the ground when the Boeing 787 crashed in Ahmedabad. One of India's worst aviation disasters wiped out entire families, many whom are still waiting for their loved ones to be identified and recovered. Got a story? Christine Lampard, 46, looks amazing in bikini alongside Frank on family holiday

Loose Women presenter Christine Lampard soaked up the sun in a stunning navy bikini set as she and former footballer husband Frank Lampard enjoyed a relaxing getaway in Lake Como Christine Lampard looked amazing as she enjoyed a lavish family holiday in Lake Como. The Loose Women star, 46, showed off her fabulous figure as she relaxed at the hotspot alongside former footballer husband Frank Lampard. The duo were seen chilling by the pool on Monday as Christine opted for a navy halterneck bikini to soak up the rays. The attire was paired with low-rise briefs as she also wore chunky black sunglasses. The presenter tied her hair back in a bun for the outing. ‌ Christine was later seen sporting a floral sarong as she paddled through the shallow water. Frank, meanwhile, wore light blue swimming shorts as the duo sipped fresh Aperol spritzes by the poolside. After the cool-off was complete, Christine changed her light sarong, which she tidily folded, into a navy skirt matching her halterneck top. ‌ Last month, Christine, who shares two kids with the former Chelsea man - Patricia, 6, and Freddie - admitted it's sometimes tough to have their blended family. Frank also has teenagers Luna, 19, and Isla, 17, from a previous relationship with Spanish model Elen Rivas. Christine recently admitted the family set up quickly felt normal, but admitted it wasn't always so straight forward. The duo initially hooked up in October 2009 and got married in 2015. They are approaching their 10th wedding anniversary this year, and Christine told the Sun: "It's hard for all parties, that's the truth. It can be difficult when there is emotion involved. 'You have to navigate everyone's feelings and not just think about yourself in order to try to make it a happy ship. What I would say is you can absolutely get there. Some people have awful times, but then it's brilliant." ‌ And she also admitted it was key that she "never stepped out on any boundaries" as she confirmed the importance of prioritising the kids. And Frank was also in a positive mindset about their link up. Explaining the secret to their happy marriage, the ex-England man told the Mirror: 'What keeps me and Christine going is we're there to support each other and we make each other laugh. We have a similar sense of humour. ‌ "Christine's quite sharp and we're normally thinking the same thing, so the same situations make us laugh - I think laughing together is important for a happy marriage." The duo also share a fondness of football and say that is a big factor in their relationship. While Frank's accolades are clear, winning 106 England caps, Christine co-hosts the Not Just Football podcast. In it, she discusses the sport and other subjects with TV presenters Hayley McQueen and Kelly Cates. Frank went on: "I do have a pretty good work-life balance at Coventry, but at the same time I sometimes have to be away from home and Christine takes the brunt of the parenting. We enjoy being parents together but it's important to have time together, too."
