But this wasn't always the case, and when the initial branch of the shop opened its doors in 1944 it caused quite the stir On March 31 of the year, Locals quickly learned of the grand opening and flooded into the store in what the retailer's archives recall as a 'shopping frenzy.' The bargain clothing on sale inside the new store at 'pre-war prices' was one of the factors cited for the buzz. MobLand lands second season of Pierce Brosnan-starring hit

Streamer Paramount+ has announced that it has commissioned a second season of the Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and Tom Hardy-starring Irish crime dynasty drama MobLand. MobLand sees Brosnan play London-based Irish godfather Conrad Harrigan; Helen Mirren stars as Conrad's wife Maeve, and Tom Hardy plays their fixer, Harry Da Souza. Snatch director Guy Ritchie is an executive producer of MobLand, and the writer-creator is Belfast author Ronan Bennett, who also serves as an executive producer on the hit show. The announcement of a second season was made by Paramount+ on Instagram. US entertainment trade publication Deadline says the opening episode of MobLand"amassed 26 million views over the first 70 days in the US and other English-speaking markets, where MobLand premiered March 30, and the first nine days for non-English speaking territories, where the show debuted May 30". Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, described MobLand as "a resounding triumph". In May, . Brosnan told Radio Times: "My own accent is very soft. Conrad's accent is a million miles away from me." He went on to explain that the inspiration for the accent was a man suggested by his dialect coach, adding: "I told him that I needed a Kerry accent, so he gave me the name of a man, and I googled the guy and that was it. "It was a Kerry accent, and so I just gave it full tilt."
