New York's 3-star rated Peruvian restaurant is coming to a close
Since 2019, chef Eric Ramirez has been cooking up his interpretation of Nikkei cuisine at Llama San in the West Village. Not just a favorite among various media outlets, the restaurant was also credited with the boom of Peruvian flavors on a worldwide stage (per the New York Times). Yet among all its accolades and fanfare, the team announced yesterday that it would be coming to an end.
In an Instagram post, the Llama San team announced the closure. 'They say all good things must come to an end. After almost 6 years in business Llama San will be closing on Saturday June 7,' the announcement read. 'It's been a wonderful ride and a great pleasure to serve you while showcasing Peruvian ingredients and the magic of Nikkei cuisine.'

Following the very successful Llama Inn in Brooklyn, the team took to the city in 2019 to open a sister spot Llama San. Continuing the exploration of chef Eric Ramirez's Peruvian-Japanese heritage through Nikkei cuisine, the restaurant was a clear hit from the beginning, nabbing a three-star review from the New York Times and was named Eater 's ' Restaurant of the Year ' in 2019. Time Out New York gave it a four-star rating, praising chef Ramirez for his interpretation of Nikkei cuisine, even calling the scallop ceviche 'one of the best dishes we've tasted in 2019.'
According to their PR rep, the team is "focused on closing out these last few weeks of service and spending time together with their regulars and team." Ramirez's remaining Peruvian concepts now include Llama Inn in Williamsburg, London and Madrid, as well as his most recent project, Papa San, which debuted in Hudson Yards this past February.
The social-media post finished with gratitude to the restaurant team. 'Above all, thanks to our amazing current and past teams, many of whom you will find now at Papa San or Llama Inn: you all created magic out of a little and humble space.'

Amazon cooling blanket that's the 'best thing ever' for night sweats now 20% off
Amazon cooling blanket that's the 'best thing ever' for night sweats now 20% off The popular Ailemei direct cooling blanket for night sweats is currently on sale at Amazon The specialist blanket helps keep users cool on sticky summer nights (Image: Amazon ) While warm summer days can be enjoyable, the hot and sticky nights that follow are less so. It's particularly challenging for those who suffer from night sweats, as well as those who prefer to sleep with a blanket, as regular duvets often prove too warm during the summer months. This is where a cooling blanket could come in handy, providing the comfort of a cover while keeping you cool. Currently, Amazon has a deal on the Ailemei Direct Cooling Blanket for Night Sweats, which is now nearly 20% off at £21.94. The specialist blanket is made from mica nylon and Japanese cold fibre, designed to keep users feeling fresh during hot nights. It's also lightweight, adding to its appeal. The blanket is breathable and comfortable, taking away heat and reportedly lowering internal temperature by about 2°C. Additionally, it's machine and hand washable, making it easy to care for, reports the Mirror. If this particular cooling blanket doesn't tickle your fancy, Dunelm's Fogarty Cooling Cotton Duvet Cover could be paired with your existing summer duvet. Prices range from £9.20 to £32 depending on the size, and the plain duvet cover is available in colours such as sage green, white and blush pink. Debenhams also provides an option with the Slumberdown Cool Sleep Ultra Cool Nylon Summer Duvet/Blanket, currently on sale with up to 40% priced between £41.25 and £69.37 depending on size. This duvet is engineered to dissipate heat and reportedly feels twice as cool as standard polyester blankets. Meanwhile, the Ailemei Direct Cooling Blanket has garnered popularity among consumers, achieving a 4.4-star average rating. One pleased customer said: "Absolutely brilliant! You literally put it on and can feel the cooling straight away! It's very light and has two layers, it's a slippery type of fabric. I like having a blanket and get too hot under them, this is great to combat that!" Another user hailed it as "the best thing ever", admitting: "I wish I'd bought it earlier, perfect for hot summer nights, lightweight, comfortable." A third buyer was equally enthusiastic, proclaiming: "Absolutely blooming marvellous. Cooled me down on many a hot flush! Recommended." I like the way it is very thin but has a nice weight to it so it's easy to sleep under! Would recommend but not if your expecting it to actually be cool to the touch."

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Hundreds of Edinburgh customers were spotted in a huge queue on a busy street to celebrate the opening of a new bubble tea shop. The team at HeyTea previously announced the opening of their new location in the capital and they officially welcomed customers in on Friday morning. Based at South Bridge, fans of the chain flocked to the new venue to make the most of the 'buy one get one free offer' and hoped to get their hands on the Edinburgh themed magnets - prompting a huge queue. A video taken opposite the road shows the line stretching up South Bridge as customers couldn't wait to get their hands on a drink. A post on Instagram reads: "A fresh sense of taste, awakened by the history tucked in the alleyways. Brew a pot of tea, adding a bit of depth, a bit of layers. "Feel it, gather it, and wait, for another renaissance to unfold. "Grand opening on 20th June. Buy one get one free on our exclusive opening menu. Limited-edition Edinburgh fridge magnets available." An application for HeyTea branded signage was submitted to Edinburgh Council in February of this year and approved in late March. The shop will occupy the premises formerly occupied by another bubble tea shop, HI TEA, now closed. HeyTea is a popular bubble tea brand originating in China. They brand themselves as starting the "new tea style", which innovates traditional tea by adding ingredients like milk, fruit, and various toppings. They sell fruit tea and milk teas, experimenting with unusual ingredients like cheese foam. Join Edinburgh Live's Whatsapp Community here and get the latest news sentstraight to your messages. Their website reads: "As the originator of the New Style Tea, we hav ebeen infusing our teas with eccentric inspiration, giving traditional tea a new life. We want to create a tea brand for young minds who are tired of mediocracy and who dare to drink differently." This will be the franchise's second Scotland store after their first opened in Glasgow. The brand also operates a number of cafes in London and Manchester. They also operate stores across the world in Australian, America, Canada, and Asia.

Aldi launch new own-brand chicken wine in a box but be quick
The new Le Petit Poulet Rosé joins the range for £12.49, and it's available in stores from June 22. Building on last year's huge sales Aldi introduced Le Petit Poulet Rosé the supermarket has a 1.5L boxed version, offering double the wine. The Le Petit Poulet Rosé Boxed Wine has a larger, picnic-perfect format - but shoppers will have to be quick, because as with all Specialbuys, once they're gone, they're gone. What is chicken wine? Last summer, the 'chicken wine' was popular on TikTok and Instagram. It's named after the chicken on its label. Delicately pale and bursting with citrus and red berry notes, Le Petit Poulet Rosé comes from sun-drenched vineyards of Provence at a price that's 19% cheaper than market leader La Vielle Ferme. Crisp, refreshing blush is ideal for creating the perfect aperitif moment whilst soaking up the sun. Is boxed wine as good as a bottle? Sam Caporn, Mistress of Wine, says yes, and the cardboard box shouldn't put drinkers off: 'Historically, lower quality wines were packaged in boxed format, with the perception being that customers wanted higher volume at a low price - but that's no longer the case. 'Boxed wines have many advantages. For example, boxed wine can stay fresh for considerably longer than bottled. 'There is usually a price advantage too, as you're not paying for heavy or expensive glass. And lastly, boxed wine tastes no different to bottled.' Recommended reading: The new Le Petit Poulet Rosé boxed wine joins Aldi's boxed wine line-up, including red, white and rosé: Cambalala Sauvignon Blanc (£13.99, 2.25L) Costellore Italian Blush (£13.99, 2.25L) Kooliburra Shiraz (£13.99, 2.25L) Costellore Trebbiano Pinot Grigio (£13.99, 2.25L) Aldi's Le Petit Poulet Rosé boxed wine (£12.49, 1.5L) is available in stores nationwide from June 22, while stocks last.
