Heavy rain halts play at US Open with overnight leader Sam Burns still ahead
Play was called to a halt at 1601 local time (2101 BST) after a heavy storm arrived in the Pittsburgh area, with large amounts of water gushing off the greens.
Overnight leader Sam Burns had a one-shot advantage over playing partner Adam Scott after both men endured a difficult opening seven holes.

Burns dropped two shots to sit at two under while Scott fell to one under as both men struggled to get to grips with the course.
England's Tyrrell Hatton moved into joint third after overcoming a difficult start to maintain his overnight position of one over, though he was in trouble on the ninth hole when the heavens opened.
Robert MacIntyre, from Oban in Scotland, also bounced back from two bogeys in the first three holes to move up to seventh on the leaderboard.
His eagle at the par-five fourth hole turned the tide, and a birdie at the ninth sent him back to his overnight score of three over, five behind Burns.
It was a horrible start for JJ Spaun, who came into the day one shot behind Burns, but his chances quickly disintegrated.

After bogeying the first, he looked to be putting it right at the second as he sent an approach shot from 94 yards that was so accurate it hit the flag before rolling all the way back down the hill, finishing just 40 yards further forward than his previous shot.
He ended up with a bogey and dropped further shots at the third, fifth and sixth holes as his chances went up in smoke.
Spaniard Jon Rahm was the clubhouse leader when play was suspended.
The 2021 champion has had his problems with the Oakmont course this week, but was in a forgiving mood after he shot a three-under-par 67, the joint best day of the round with Rory McIlroy.
Rahm birdied the final three holes to sit on four under in eight position, now able to sit back and watch as the leaders battle it out in wet conditions when play resumes.
He said: 'It's crazy because it doesn't feel like I played that different to every other round.

'Two keys: number one would be I kept it in play off the tee. I'm trying to go through the round. For the most part, I was in the fairway or the first cut most of the entire day.
'Then my lag putting. I had the speed really dialed in today. I felt like I was very comfortable, if you can be at Oakmont, with speeds, and it showed.
'Every long putt I had was nothing but a kick-in and didn't have to stress for it. That helps a lot.'
McIlroy at least went out on a high with his best round of the week, going some way to exorcising the demons of an Oakmont course that had tortured him for the first three days.
The 36-year-old played his best golf of the week, with the sort of accuracy and guile that he would have longed for on Thursday and Friday, carding a three-under-par 67 to finish on seven over.

There was no excuse for his appalling studs-up challenge on Flamengo's Ayrton Lucas which in this competition gets an automatic one game ban which FIFA can review and upgrade. Frankly, they should throw the book at him and it is no wonder that Maresca signed Liam Delap because he cannot trust Jackson. Jackson has so much talent but his reckless temperament makes him a liability and suddenly, from winning their first game, the mood will change in the Chelsea camp. Defender Marc Cucurella revealed he apologised to the players in the dressing room post-game. The Spaniard said: "He's very sad. He tried to win the ball, had the bad luck that he kicked his leg and that's it. He's a young player with a lot of quality but maybe needs to improve a little bit in these things. 'But he has to learn. After the manager spoke, he said sorry, he didn't do it on purpose. He's a very important player for us, we will miss him in the next game but this is football.' Andre Onana offered Man Utd escape route as 'transfer negotiations begin'
Manchester United spent big to dump David de Gea and make Andre Onana their No.1 when signing him from Inter Milan two years ago at the behest of Erik ten Hag - but it's been a bumpy ride for the Cameroon stopper since moving to Old Trafford Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana could be handed an Old Trafford exit by French side Monaco - if he wants one. Onana has been United's undisputed No.1 since arriving from Inter Milan in a £44million in 2023. The ex-Ajax stopper joined at the behest of then-boss Erik ten Hag, who unceremoniously dumped long-time first choice David de Gea, having concluded that the Spaniard's style didn't fit what he wanted. It's been a difficult ride for the Cameroonian since, with a number of high-profile errors during United's two most disappointing Premier League campaigns in the league's history. And there are suggestions that Ruben Amorim and the club's hierarchy could cut their losses on Onana this summer. Aston Villa's Emi Martinez has been heavily linked with a move to United, amid suggestions that a £40m move could be in the offing for the Argentina international. Ironically Martinez was sent off at Old Trafford on the final day of last season, as Villa missed out on Champions League football. But to bring in a new No.1, United have to shift Onana out. He has no interest in being second choice and, frankly, is on too big a contract to be left in limbo. So United need to cut a deal for him first. And according to Sky in Italy, they're doing just that. It's claimed Monaco are opening negotiations with United to see if a deal can be done to take him to the Ligue 1 club this summer. Onana, 29, has made 101 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils since his arrival. One player who snubbed a move this summer is club captain Bruno Fernandes, who revealed this week how United boss Amorim played a key role in his decision to snub a mega money offer from Saudi side Al-Hilal. The move would have trebled his current £300,000-a-week salary. "The president of Al Hilal called me a month ago to ask about the possibility of me moving there," said Fernandes. "I had to wait a while to think about the future. As I've always said, I would be willing to do it if United thought it was best to move on. I spoke with the coach, Ruben Amorim, who really tried to talk me out of it. " Manchester United said they didn't want to sell me. They said if I wanted to go I could, but they didn't need the money. From my side, it was a very ambitious proposal, the president was a fantastic person. I never talked about the money, it ended up coming up later, with my agent. "I had to make the decision as a family and understand what I wanted for my future. That was the question my wife asked, what my professional goals would be. At no point did she say yes or no, she always supported me and put my professional side first. "It was an easy move, even at a family level. I had Ruben Neves, Joao Cancelo. My children are used to playing with theirs. But I simply want to stay at the highest level, playing in the big competitions, because I still feel capable of that. "I want to continue to be happy and do what I love most. I'm still very passionate about this sport. It's my way of seeing football and I'm happy with my decision."
