The UK's fastest-growing pub company is giving away 10,000 free pints this week as it celebrates its 10th birthday - here's how you can get your hands on one
A UK pub chain with more than 600 boozers nationwide is celebrating its 10th anniversary by giving away thousands of free pints. The Craft Union chain plans to distribute 10,000 free pints across its pubs this week across London, the Midlands, the south, the north and Wales.
On Wednesday, May 14, customers can grab a free drink from the wide selection available at Craft Union pubs (their full list of pubs is here). With the arrival of warmer weather and longer evenings, they say it's the perfect time for those looking to relax with a cool drink.

Even those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks or children can take advantage of the offer, with Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero, and Schweppes Lemonade all included in the deal. To claim the offer, simply show up and ask.

In addition to the giveaway, Craft Union says it is also contributing to local causes. On May 14, 10p from every pint sold will be donated to local initiatives, with an estimated £20,000 expected to be raised.
Over the past year, Craft Union pubs have already raised approximately £1 million for local causes. But that's not all - one lucky customer could win a life-changing £10,000 on Wednesday, reports Lancs Live.
To mark its 10th anniversary, Craft Union pubs are running a special promotion where every pint purchase comes with a QR code that gives customers a chance to enter a daily prize draw. The winner will be announced the next day.
Craft Union currently operates 637 locations, with its first site opening in Stoke-on-Trent in 2025. The pub chain says its philosophy revolves around creating welcoming community hubs that aim to offer great value, live sports, and more.
Frazer Grimbleby, Craft Union's Managing Director, said: "We're proud to be marking our 10th anniversary with three initiatives to give back to our guests as a thank you for how they have supported Craft Union over the last decade."
He also highlighted the company's charitable efforts, saying: "We're delighted to have raised more than one million pounds for local causes in the last 12 months, and we are incredibly grateful to our guests for their unwavering support and enthusiasm in raising funds for charities - so what better way to show our appreciation than a drink on us.
"Make sure you get yourself down to your local Craft Union pub on Wednesday to claim your one free drink while stocks last, we're expecting the nation to get through 10,000 drinks in no time at all."
Craft Union, a UK pub chain, has seen rapid growth over the past year, opening an impressive 78 pubs in just 12 months. The firm says that makes it the fastest-growing pub company in the country.

When the heatwave hits, there's nothing quite like an ice-cold slushie to help take the edge off, and shoppers can find one voted an Amazon Choice product by shoppers. For those who want to recreate those nostalgic, frozen treats from the comfort of their homes, the Fizz Creations Slush Puppie Snow Cone Machine bundle is available on Amazon for £56.99 and it's a great option for entertaining on sunny days. The clever machine makes it simple to whip up refreshing snow cones and slushies from the kitchen counter. The bundle includes a pack of four iconic flavours: Blue Raspberry, Strawberry, Cola, and Lemon & Lime, so there's something for every taste. Featuring a handy ice-shaving mechanism, the Fizz Creations Slush Puppie machine transforms ordinary ice cubes into finely crushed snow, ready to soak up those classic-tasting syrups. Home-made slush machines have been given a premium facelift in recent times, with foodie kitchen brand Ninja launching their Ninja SLUSHi earlier this year when it immediately sold out. It's now back in stock and comes with a free Ninja cooling bottle so you can carry your cold drinks on the move. Known for its powerful blending and ice-crushing abilities, it's a popular pick for those wanting café-style frozen drinks at home. Also on sale at Ninja, customers can find the Ninja CREAMi deluxe with a £30 discount, it's ideal for making a plethora of your family's favourite frozen treats. The Slush Puppie brand holds a special place for many, and this home version captures the same flavours and texture found at seaside arcades and cinemas. It's a fun way to cool down and adds a playful, retro touch to any gathering. Replacement syrups are also available to buy separately, with plenty of flavours to choose from. As temperatures climb, a home slushie machine is a fun and refreshing addition to any kitchen space. Shoppers have taken to the reviews to share their thoughts. One person wrote: "A lovely little addition to my bar; the kids loved it." A second comment read: "A good product, which keeps the children amused for ages." A third person shared: "Perfect gift for a 6-year-old." However, one customer noted: "Great item, but the syrups are incredibly sour. Trying to find out the right ratio." The gadget is available at Amazon now, among a host of other kitchenware deals launched of Amazon's forthcoming Prime Day event which is set to run across the retailer from July 8.

The popular midday lunch bundle has gone from £3.75 to £3.95, causing upset among its workers and customers. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 The supermarket has increased the price of its popular meal deal to almost £4 Shoppers have already spotted the hike, with one person writing on X: "Sainsburys meal deal gone up to £3.90 we are in the end times." Another said: "Had to do a double take when I saw the price increase." A third said the supermarket was "sneaking" the price up. Another added: "This is not a drill - Sainsbury's meal deals have been upped again and are £3.95 - it was £3.75 before today." A fifth shopper said: "Why TF was my Sainsbury's meal deal £3.95 - should we all just give up?" Sainsbury's staff were also complaining on Reddit. One posted: "Wow saw that the meal deal has gone up to £3.95. Did anyone else know beforehand or did my managers fail to inform us this was happening?" Another added: "Honestly I just tend not to eat at work anymore. Eatings too expensive." A third said: "Saw it last night , funny , we all said it's packed lunch then , we will still buy it , because we still struggle to wake up for work." The change comes less than a year after Sainsbury's last hiked the price of its meal deal. Save with secret codes The supermarket's meal deal went up in July 2024 from £3.50 to £3.75. Shoppers said at the time the sudden price hike was "sneaky". The price of the more expensive Premium meal deal has not changed from £5. Customers can choose a combination of a main, a side and a drink. Popular choices include sandwiches, a piece of fruit or bag of crisps and a Diet Coke or Lipton Ice Tea. The supermarket recently introduced 35 new products into its meal deal range, including the option to build your own salad. A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: "With millions of possible combinations, we continue to offer one of the best value meal deals around. "We've also recently introduced a range of new products just in time for summer, including our best-seller Picnic Triple Sandwich and build your own salad options. "This means anyone who shops with us can choose from an affordable selection of over 150 mains, 300 snacks and 400 drinks." How do other supermarkets compare? The Sun recently looked at how much a meal deal will set you back at different shops. Even with the price increase, the Sainsbury's meal deal is still - just about - among the cheapest options. The most expensive meal deal comes from Waitrose, which charges £5. Boots, Co-op, Morrisons and Tesco all charge £4 if you don't use their loyalty cards. If you have a Boots Advantage Card, the deal is £3.60. You can get a meal deal for the same price at Tesco if you have a Clubcard. If you're a Co-op member you can get the lunchtime deal for £3.50. Morrisons More Card holders can get the meal deal for £3.60. Some of these supermarkets have also increased the price of their meal deals recently. Tesco put its prices up from £3.40 to £3.60 for Clubcard members in August last year.
