Oasis blasted as they release limited tickets for Dublin merch shop
Oasis may have thrilled Irish fans by announcing an exclusive pop-up merchandise store in the capital - but not everyone is impressed, as many have taken to social media to blast the band for the limited number of venues.
The official Oasis account announced shops in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh - and Dublin - but fans across Europe and beyond were quick to blast the narrow rollout and the fact that admission is ticketed and extremely limited.
Despite Dublin making the shortlist, even Irish fans have been left frustrated, as e-tickets for the Irish store are limited to tight 30-minute slots and were not easily accessible when first announced.
The official Oasis page on X (formerly Twitter) teased the announcement on Thursday evening, writing: "10am tomorrow - Spinningfields, Manchester." However, at the time of writing, the Manchester shop was the only one with a working link - leaving fans in other shortlisted cities like Dublin scrambling.
The pop-ups will run throughout late June and July, with fans asked to select a date and a strict 30-minute time slot. Entry is free - but e-tickets are required, and spaces are capped.
While Dublin fans were glad to be included in the shortlist, the restricted access left many angry. Fans from other countries also voiced their disappointment at being left out entirely.
One frustrated user said: "Do this in South America!" Another asked: "Will there be special pop up shops for North America, Asia and South America?"
Some were more direct, blasting the band for ignoring their global fanbase: "Do Oasis even know they have fans outside the UK? Like, in actual Europe?" and one pointed out: "yeah u hate europe tho."
One desperate fan wrote: "B**ch i'm in italy I CAN'T COME F**K OFFFFFF do one in italy im begging."
Oasis is playing two sold-out concerts at Croke Park in Dublin on August 16 and 17, as part of their reunion tour.
Meanwhile, fans have also been warned to beware of scammers while searching for last-minute tickets to the much-hyped Oasis reunion gigs. Demand has been sky-high for the concerts, which will mark Noel and Liam Gallagher's first shows together in years.
But with scammers targeting eager buyers on social media, not every deal is what it seems. One woman, who thought she had found a genuine seller, was left devastated.
She explained: "He said his only condition was that I sent him selfies from the gig, and he even sent me GIFs of the band with the catch line 'All Your Dreams Are Made'. And I thought they were. I thought he can't be. He was a lovely lad, I thought. We had calls and Facetimed, and he was so personable. I just feel so embarrassed and ashamed."
