Jan Blachowicz vs. Carlos Ulberg UFC London preview
Former light heavyweight champion Blachowicz (29-10-1 MMA, 12-7-1 UFC) is back for the first time in around 20 months. He was set to retun from a split decision loss to Alex Pereira in January 2024, but was sidelined by a shoulder surgery. He's looking for his first win since May 2022. … Ulberg (12-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) dropped his UFC debut in a Fight of the Night winner, but hasn't looked back. He's on a seven-fight winning streak to get into contention. He's had fights against ex-champ Jamahal Hill and former title challengers Anthony Smith and Dominick Reyes scrapped – over whom wins would've done wonders for his title hopes. A win over an ex-champ like Blachowicz would be his biggest one yet.
Jan Blachowicz vs. Carlos Ulberg UFC London expert pick, prediction
The co-main event in London features a potential crossroads fight at light heavyweight between Jan Blachowicz and Carlos Ulberg.
Despite Blachowicz's rich history as coming through as an underdog in the UFC, I have a hard time getting my hopes too high for a 42-year-old coming off a 20-month layoff. More importantly, from a stylistic perspective, I'm not sure how much play Blachowicz's takedowns will have considering the glimpses of improvements we've seen from Ulberg.
Not only does Ulberg have the athletic sprawl you'd expect from his first layer of defense, but the City Kickboxing product is also good about circling off of his sprawls and underhooks so that he can get back to the center of the cage.
Ulberg also showed some solid offensive looks and a natural aptitude for topside offense in his fight with Da Woon Jung, so don't be shocked to see the New Zealand native attempt to flip the script on the former champ.
Although part of me will be cheering for the Pole, I'm officially predicting a statement performance from Ulberg that's sparked off by the speed of his lead hand. The pick is Ulberg by knockout in Round 1.
Jan Blachowicz vs. Carlos Ulberg UFC London odds
The oddsmakers and the public are favoring the younger fighter, listing Ulberg -290 and Blachowicz +225 via FanDuel.
Jan Blachowicz vs. Carlos Ulberg UFC London start time, how to watch
Blachowicz and Ulberg are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 6:15 p.m. ET. The fight will stream on ESPN+.

He won that fight against Alexander Poppeck by TKO in the third round. The victory earned him a UFC contract. Hill made his official UFC debut in January 2020, winning a decision over Darko Stosic on the main card of an ESPN+ event at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. He then faced Klidson Abreu in May 2020. He initially won that bout by first-round TKO, but the result was later overturned to a no-contest because Hill tested positive for marijuana He followed that fight with a December 2020 TKO over former interim light heavyweight title challenger Ovince Saint Preux. Hill's unbeaten streak ended in his next trip to the Octagon, when Paul Craig ended their June 2021 fight in under two minutes by TKO. Hill bounced back from that loss by rattling off three straight 'Performance of the Night' bonus-winning knockouts. That run earned him a shot at then-champion Glover Teixeira. Hill put on a striking clinic in that fight, battering Teixeira over five rounds to earn a one-sided decision win and the UFC 205-pound crown. That fight headlined UFC 283 in January 2023. Misfortune ended Hill's title reign. In July 2023, he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during a UFC fighter basketball game. He relinquished the title and underwent surgery to repair the injury. Hill returned at UFC 300 in a matchup against UFC light heavyweight champ Alex Pereira. Pereira ended that fight via knockout at the 3:14 mark of the first round. Hill returned to the Octagon at UFC 311 when he faced former champ Jiri Prochazka on the main card. Prochazka ended that bout via TKO at 3:01 of Round 3. Hill, the No. 4 ranked UFC light heavyweight, has seven wins by knockout and five decision victories. His three losses have come via knockout. (Photo by Ed Mulholland/Zuffa LLC) Khalil Rountree Jr. (13-6-0-1) joined the UFC in July 2016 when a loss to Andrew Sanchez in the season finale of The Ultimate Fighter dropped him to 4-1 as a pro. A submission loss to Tyson Pedro followed Rountree's defeat to Sanchez. However, Rountree went 3-0-0-1 after that setback, scoring three knockout wins in his victories. A knockout loss to Johnny Walker, who Rountree was favored to beat, ended his unbeaten streak. A decision victory over Eryk Anders in April 2019 got Rountree back in the win column, but a TKO loss to Ion Cutelaba and a decision setback against Marcin Prachnio followed. In September 2021, the UFC matchmakers booked Rountree against Modestas Bukauskas. He won that scrap via TKO. That win was the first of five consecutive victories for Rountree. Rountree was scheduled to face former UFC light heavyweight champ Jamahal Hill in June, but a self-reported drug test failure knocked him from that card. The Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended Rountree 4.5 months for that drug test failure. When Rountree returned to action it was at UFC 307 in the main event of the pay-per-view card opposite then-UFC 205-pound champion Alex Pereira. Pereira battered Rountree before ending the fight via TKO in the fourth round. Rountree has nine knockout wins and four decision victories. His losses have come by knockout (three), submission (one) and decision (two). He is the No. 7 ranked competitor in the UFC's 205-pound weight class. Today, the fight is a pick 'em, with Rountree at -105 and Hill at -115. Bettors are leaning toward Hill. The ex-champ has picked up 64 percent of the bets and 80 percent of the handle heading into UFC Baku. I'm leaning toward Rountree. While both men are strikers with power, Rountree is the more well-rounded competitor. If he can expose the openings in Hill's defense, Rountree will get the win. Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ABC 8
Bogdan Grad and Muhammad Naimov meet Saturday in the main card opener of UFC on ABC 8 at Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 5-1 UFC main cards, 2025: 57-44-1 Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov UFC Baku preview Grad (15-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) enters on a four-fight winning streak with three stoppages. After back-to-back finishes on the regional scene, he picked up a win on Dana White's Contender Series, and then finished Lucas Alexander in his February debut. ... Naimov (12-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) looks to keep the momentum going after a unanimous decision over Kaan Ofli in February, which was a successful rebound from his first setback in the UFC. Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov UFC Baku expert pick, prediction Kicking off the main card in Joe Silva-like fashion is a featherweight attraction between Muhammad Naimov and Bogdan Grad. Naimov's resume is a deceiving one when you factor in everything from his opportunistic style to his favorable fortunes with fouls and injuries alike. And though I suspect that Naimov's not far from being audited again, I don't think it comes here. Grad, who looks like a muscled-up version of Edward Furlong in "American History X," can make fights ugly and work his way back into them if he's allowed to stick around. However, Grad also has some porous striking defense to go along with some plodding footwork and linear advances that I see running him right into a Naimov counter hook. The pick is Naimov by knockout in Round 2. Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov UFC Baku odds The oddsmakers and the public favor the Tajik fighter, listing Naimov -260 and Grad +205 via FanDuel. Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov UFC Baku start time, how to watch As the main card opener, Grad and Naimov are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 3:10 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts on ABC, ESPN and ESPN+.

Nikolas Motta vs. Nazim Sadykhov prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ABC 8
Nikolas Motta and Nazim Sadykhov meet Saturday on the main card of UFC on ABC 8 at Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 5-1 UFC main cards, 2025: 57-44-1 Nikolas Motta vs. Nazim Sadykhov UFC Baku preview Motta (15-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) enters his first fight of the year on the heels of back-to-back wins in 2024. Last January, he finished Tom Nolan in the first round, followed by a unanimous decision over Hayisaer Maheshate. The hard-hitting lightweight has finished 10 of his 15 victories by KO or TKO. ... Sadykhov (10-1-1 MMA, 3-0-1 UFC) has only suffered one defeat in his career, which came in 2018. Since then, he's gone unbeaten, winning 10 and drawing once – the only time he's reached the scorecards in the UFC. In his last outing in February, Sadykhov won a doctor's stoppage TKO over Ismael Bonfim. Nikolas Motta vs. Nazim Sadykhov UFC Baku expert pick, prediction Serving as a solid action fight at lightweight is a battle between Nazim Sadykhov and Nikolas Motta. Sadykhov, a savvy southpaw who has long been hailed as a prospect by the legendary Serra-Longo camp, has followed his stablemate Merab Dvalishvili to Las Vegas to train with coach John Wood and the Syndicate MMA crew. This change hasn't appeared to be drastic for Sadykhov, but the Azerbaijani native is one of many fighters on this card with a more deceptive resume than meets the eye. Aside from the fact that Sadykhov lost two rounds to Evan Elder and Viacheslav Borschev without having to suffer a single loss, the 31-year-old tends to find himself in deceptively close fights where either cuts or scorecards have arguably bailed him out. Motta, on the other hand, had a handful of bad performances early on in his UFC career that came amid a slew of camp changes and short-notice bookings that subsequently caused everyone from the bookmakers to the gamblers to continually disrespect his chances despite his recent results. Motta is still a kill-or-be-killed fighter for the most part, but the Brazilian has made some measurable improvements to his overall game since splitting his time between his home bases of Xtreme Couture MMA and Bangtao Muay Thai. Now, Motta appears to be in the best shape of his life, showing more tools at range and improved pacing and grappling. Motta also shows the style of leg kicks and shoveling body shots that previous Sadykhov opponents have found success with. Don't get me wrong: Sadykhov is the deserved favorite and no one should be shocked if he replicates the murder scenes that Manual Torres and Jim Miller made before him. That said, we can't ignore the fact that power is a potent two-way street, and Motta has way too much of it for Sadykhov to be this heavily favored with his fast-and-loose style. For that reason, I suspect that the southpaw killer that is Motta's left hook will be live for as long as this fight lasts. A decision win isn't totally out of the question, but I'll take an unpopular flier on Motta to shock the world by catching Sadykhov cold in round 1. Nikolas Motta vs. Nazim Sadykhov UFC Baku odds The oddsmakers and the public heavily favor the hometown fighter, listing Sadykhov -430 and Motta +320 via FanDuel. Nikolas Motta vs. Nazim Sadykhov UFC Baku start time, how to watch Motta and Sadykhov are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 3:40 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts on ABC, ESPN and ESPN+.
