
Sheraa and HORIVISTA forge strategic partnership
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration aimed at supporting the growth of startups between the United Arab Emirates and China, leveraging HORIVISTA's deep expertise in bridging both markets to create long-term impact.
The MoU was signed by Her Excellency Sara Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, CEO of Sheraa and Sam Sun, Managing Director of HORIVISTA and Sheraa alum.
Under this agreement, Sheraa shall extend support to eligible Chinese startups referred by HORIVISTA by facilitating their expansion in the UAE through setting up in Sharjah, as well as participation in Sheraa's programs, including the Sharjah Startup Studio (S3) and the Access Sharjah Challenge, in accordance with Sheraa's prevailing eligibility and selection criteria. Where such startups seek to establish a presence in the United Arab Emirates, Sheraa shall provide access to subsidised business licensing, coworking facilities, and tailored advisory services to support their market entry and operational setup.
In turn, HORIVISTA will support Sheraa-backed startups to scale their ventures to the Chinese market. This agreement reflects the shared commitment of both parties to fostering cross-border collaboration and supporting startups in accessing new markets.
Startups seeking to enter the Chinese market will receive support that includes market insights, introductions to local business networks, and guidance on navigating China's regulatory landscape, enabling a smooth market entry.

Sheraa's Programmes Build the Foundations for Startups Success
During the "Make it in the Emirates 2025" forum, the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) is showcasing its range of programs that support founders at every stage of their journey. These programs include Startup Blueprint, a self-paced online course introducing aspiring founders to fundamental entrepreneurial skills. Startup Dojo helps turn early ideas into viable business models while building strong team dynamics. Its follow-on program, Startup Dojo+, supports founders in validating their solutions, developing MVPs, and preparing for market entry.
Among Sheraa's key offerings is the Sharjah Startup Studio (S3), its flagship incubator program, which enables early-stage startups to grow, acquire customers, and become investor-ready. The Access Sharjah Challenge (ASC) rounds out the journey by helping growth-stage startups co-create pilot projects with local partners and enter new markets.

Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, presided over the Council's meeting held on Monday, at the Government Agencies Complex at the Emiri Diwan. During the meeting, the Council approved the launch of the "Our Balanced Summer" initiative, a forward-looking programme that reflects the government's commitment to employee well-being and quality of life during the summer months, in alignment with the Year of Community. The initiative introduces a 100% remote work system every Friday, effective from July 1 to Aug.22, 2025, alongside a reduction in working hours from Monday to Thursday, set from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, instead of the usual 8-hour day. These measures aim to foster work-life balance while ensuring the seamless delivery of essential government services through flexible internal structures across government entities. The initiative is designed to promote institutional efficiency, adapt to the summer climate, and maintain high-quality public service delivery through optimized organizational workflows. Sheikh Ammar affirmed that the Ajman Government, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, places great importance on cultivating a dynamic and supportive work environment that meets the professional and personal needs of employees. He noted that the stability of employees and their families is a cornerstone of the emirate's development journey, emphasizing that human well-being is a central priority, essential for institutional excellence and the advancement of government performance. Sheikh Ammar added, 'The 'Our Balanced Summer' initiative also reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability by reducing daily transportation emissions, in support of Ajman Vision 2030, which aspires to build a balanced, resilient, and sustainable society.' The Human Resources Department, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, will oversee the initiative's rollout, develop relevant operational models, and present an assessment report by the end of September 2025 to evaluate its impact on institutional performance and employee and community satisfaction. This initiative embodies Ajman Government's ongoing efforts to foster a flexible, inclusive, and motivating work culture that enhances productivity and promotes happiness across the public sector. The Executive Council approved the launch of the "Ajman Learns" project, an ambitious initiative under Ajman Vision 2030, designed to reinforce the emirate's commitment to lifelong learning. The project aims to establish robust governance and evaluation frameworks to monitor progress in positioning Ajman as a hub of knowledge, innovation, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth. Sheikh Ammar emphasised that investing in people through lifelong learning is essential to realising the emirate's future vision. Indian Businesses top list of nationalities of new companies joining Dubai Chamber of Commerce during Q1 2025
A new analysis by Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, has revealed that Indian-owned businesses topped the list of non-Emirati companies joining the chamber in Q1 2025. A total of 4,543 new members from India joined during the three-month period, representing year-over-year (YoY) growth of 4.4% and underlining the vital economic role played by Indian companies as Dubai's largest foreign business community. Pakistan followed in second place, with 2,154 new companies registering as members of the chamber during the first quarter of the year. 1,362 new Egyptian companies joined the chamber, placing the country third among the top nationalities of new member companies. The number of new companies from Bangladesh achieved significant year-over-year growth of 28.5%, with 817 new companies registering as members of the chamber. The United Kingdom ranked fifth with 678 new companies, while Syria secured sixth place on the list with 462 new member companies. Companies from Jordan claimed the seventh spot, with 350 new companies joining the chamber's membership. China ranked eighth on the list, with 347 new Chinese companies registering as members of the chamber. Türkiye secured the ninth spot with 329 new members, while Iraq came tenth with 303 new companies. In terms of the sectoral distribution of new member companies joining the chamber during Q1 2025, the wholesale and retail trade sector ranked first, accounting for 36.2% of new registrations. The real estate, renting, and business services sector came in second place, representing 35.4% of the total. This was followed by the construction sector in third place at 16.7%, and the social and personal services sector, which ranked fourth with 7.7%.
