UAE Unanimously Re-Elected President of Asian Camel Racing Federation
The Asian Camel Racing Federation (ACRF) reaffirmed its strong ties with the UAE and ushered in a new leadership term during its General Assembly held today in Abu Dhabi, where 15 member federations convened to chart the future of the sport across Asia.
In a show of appreciation, the assembly extended deep gratitude to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and senior Emirati leaders for their continued support of camel racing. Special thanks were also offered to Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Camel Racing Federation, for his hospitality.
Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi was unanimously re-elected as ACRF President for a second term, spanning May 2025 to May 2029. Prince Sultan bin Saud bin Abdullah Al Saud and Sheikh Saeed Al Ghafli were elected as First and Second Vice Presidents, respectively.
Four new Executive Office members were confirmed: Ali Mohammed Bakhit Al Aqilat, Ali bin Mohammed Al Fadhel Al Marri, Haider Khan Abbas Lahri, and Batardeni Chandmani, the Women's Representative.
A major highlight was the approval of the inaugural Asian Camel Racing Championship, set to take place in Abu Dhabi. The event will be led by Hamad Al Shamsi, who will head the championship's Executive Committee. The Federation also unveiled a redesigned logo featuring camels with both human and robotic jockeys.
The assembly commended efforts to include camel racing in the 2025 Asian Games in Bahrain and the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, reflecting the sport's growing profile. Members also praised the UAE Federation for covering the cost of all upcoming events.
The approved calendar for the 2025–2026 season includes several major races and assemblies across Abu Dhabi and Al Labsa.

Yildiz powers Juventus to victory over Wydad, Inter end Urawa's CWC hopes
Kenan Yildiz scored two goals and had a hand in another as Juventus beat Wydad Casablanca 4-1 at the Club World Cup on Sunday to close in on a place in the last 16. The Turkish international forward was unlucky not to be credited with Juve's early opener which went down as an own goal by Abdelmounaim Boutouil. However, there was no doubt that Yildiz was the scorer of the second with a tremendous strike from outside the box. Thembinkosi Lorch pulled one back for Wydad before the break, but Yildiz got his second of the afternoon on 69 minutes before a late Dusan Vlahovic penalty sealed the victory for the Italian side. Having already defeated Emirati side Al Ain 5-0 in their opening match, Juve have scored nine goals and have the maximum six points after two outings in Group G. 'I'm happy. It was not easy. It was hot, but it was a good win. At the end our quality came out,' Igor Tudor told broadcaster DAZN, before hailing the performance of Yildiz. 'He has great potential. He has a lot of skills but more important than skills is his brain, that is the key. A wonderful player, so there is a big future in front of him.' Moroccan giants Wydad are eliminated with this defeat following a 2-0 loss at the hands of City in their first outing. Yildiz, the 20-year-old German-born winger, was among the scorers against Al Ain and he was the star of the show here in front of 31,975 fans at Lincoln Financial Field. Yet Juventus were well on top and Cambiaso hit the post just prior to the hour mark before Randal Kolo Muani somehow failed to turn in Lloyd Kelly's ball across the face of goal. Their third goal did arrive just after the midway point in the second half when France forward Kolo Muani collected possession on the left and then slipped in Yildiz who finished into the corner. It was his third goal at the tournament so far, and his 12th in all competitions since the season began. Earlier, Inter Milan came from behind to beat Urawa Red Diamonds and knock the Japanese side out of the Club World Cup. Fluminense rallied in the second half to beat Ulsan 4-2 and knock out the South Korean side while Monterrey and River Plate ended goalless. At Lumen Field in Seattle, Ryoma Watanabe got an early opening goal for Urawa Reds, who were backed by a noisy contingent of their supporters. But captain Lautaro Martinez — who got Inter's equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Monterrey of Mexico in their opening game — repeated the trick to level matters with a clever overhead kick 12 minutes from time. Valentin Carboni was then the unlikely hero as he grabbed the winner two minutes into injury time. The 20-year-old Argentine had not played a competitive game since early October after suffering a serious knee injury while on loan at Marseille. Man City down Al-Ain 6-0 to reach Club World Cup knockout stage
Ilkay Gundogan scored two goals as Manchester City comfortably dispatched Emirati club Al-Ain 6-0 on Sunday to ease into the knockout stage of the Club World Cup from Group G along with Juventus. The German midfielder found the net in the ninth and 73rd minutes while Argentine teenager Claudio Etcheverri also fired home a free kick and Erling Haaland a penalty before the break. Substitutes Oscar Bobb and new signing Rayan Cherki sealed the emphatic victory in the last 10 minutes to draw City level on goal difference with Juventus, who beat Wydad Casablanca 4-1 earlier on Sunday. City and Juventus meet in their final group match in Orlando on Thursday to decide which of them progresses to the round of 16 as group winners. "A really good performance," said Gundogan. "I think we had our moments in the first half, and then also the second part of the second half. "I think the result speaks for itself, and in the end, fully deserved." City manager Pep Guardiola illustrated the depth of his squad by making 11 changes, and Gundogan made the most of his start by opening the scoring with a chipped cross that floated over the head of Al-Ain keeper Khalid Eisa and into the net. Al-Ain were showing more ambition than they had in their 5-0 loss to Juventus and winger Nassim Chadli had a chance to equalise in the 15th minute but City keeper Stefan Ortega Moreno managed to push it wide. Egyptian Ramy Rabia wrestled Manuel Akanji to the ground from a corner and after VAR informed the referee of the offence, Haaland sent Eisa to the left and banged the ball into the right-hand corner for his 32nd goal of the season. City kept up the pressure in the second half and forward Matheus Nunes turned and volleyed the ball past the post just after the hour mark before Eisa finally showed his quality by twice denying Haaland from close range. Chadli had another chance in the 69th minute but fired his shot high over the bar and Gundogan soon ended any hopes of a comeback with his second goal. Bernardo Silva drifted across the edge of the box before drilling a pass towards the penalty spot and Gundogan got a great first touch to take him past the defence before lifting the ball over Eisa. Bobb cut inside the box onto his left foot to beat Eisa at his near post eight minutes from time before his fellow winger Cherki sealed the rout with a clinical finish from the edge of the box.
