River Island shoppers 'obsessed' with dress that's 'so beautiful'
River Island's new dress has shoppers "obsessed" after seeing it on social media
River Island shoppers are heaping praise on a "stunning" dress they've spotted on social media. The high street giant is well known for its on-trend clothing and accessories - and now there's a new favourite drawing attention.
The Green Premium Embellished Mini Shift Dress is priced at £150 and is usually available in sizes six to 18, though a number of these are currently sold out. The mini dress features an abstract print, square neckline, sleeveless design and sequin and beading embellishment.
River Island says the dress, which is 100% Polyester, should be ironed on the reverse and is machine washable (at maximum 30°C). The retailer warns against bleaching, tumble drying and dry cleaning the dress.
For those searching for the perfect glittering dress, New Look stocks the Mink Sequinned Mini Dress for £24, down from £45.99. PrettyLittleThing has the Stone Floral Twill Bodycon Dress for £28, while ASOS has the velvet embellished bodice bandeau mini dress on sale for £69, down from £125.
River Island took to Instagram to share the Green Premium Embellished Mini Shift Dress, in a post captioned: "Summer birthday girls, we got you." The clip racked up more than 2,800 likes and many comments from excited fans.
Among them, one person said: "Wowwww" and a second wrote: "Leo girl here. Need this." A third added: "Ooooo!!! River island is bringing the goods."
A fourth wrote: " Obsessed." A fifth shopper said: "Amazing design," and a sixth added: "Ooh she pretty."
Some shoppers have taken to review website TrustPilot to share their thoughts on River Island, particularly when it comes to large sizing, so it might be worth keeping this in mind when ordering online. One person said: "Lovely quality but not great sizing."
Another customer shared: "The quality of most clothes I've tried on are good... but the sizing is HUGE!! I recently bought some new UK size 6 shorts, skirts, jeans and trousers and they slid down my hips and legs! They wouldn't stay on my hips! The dress was huge on me too! I've had to return most of the order (kept the UK size 4 items)."
Despite this, many shoppers continued to praise the mini dress online. Among the comments, one person said: " Actual dream dress," while another called it "stunning."
A different shopper said: "I mean, its a need," and one wrote: " Virgo here...you have my attention." Another added: "LOVE THIS."
The praise continued, with one shopper writing: " Omg I need this" and a second saying: "So beautiful." A third fan added: "It's giving luxury."
A fourth wrote: "Dress heaven." A fifth said: " Gemini birthday girlie, obsessed I need this for my next trip" and a sixth added: "How beautiful."
