Huge Sky TV channel switch up set to happen today - what do these changes mean?

Daily Record27-05-2025

Here is how Sky's latest change will affect your set-up box.
Sky is set to make a switch up to their channel lists today, so if users have memorised where their favourite channel is, you may want to look out to see if this shake up will impact your viewing experience.
Known mostly for their TV service, with popular channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Sports and National Geographic just to name a few, there is a whole other aspect to the Sky set-up boxes that users may sometimes forget. Every Sky box gives users access to a vast variety of music and news stations.

This means users can easily listen to the radio through their TV while they get on with their everyday tasks. For those who happen to have a favourite station to stick on in the background, it may now be part of Sky's shake up which sees over 30 services getting moved around on the channel guide.

On its community pages, Sky explains that the reason behind the switch up is to "close the gaps in the EPG" (Electronic Program Guide), reports the Express.
It is hoped that this change will mean users will be able to get to their favourite stations easier. The 'makeover' is said to take place on May 27 and users shouldn't need to retune their box as the switch should automatically take place.

As a result of a major glitch that took place across Sky Q boxes, the technology firm is giving users a free film as an apology for the inconvenience. However, users only have until May 31 to make their choice.

In the email, Sky said: "We're gifting you a Sky Store Buy & Keep movie — it's our way of saying thank you for bearing with us."
Some of the movies available as part of the gift include Bullet Train, Jumanji: The Next Level, Les Misérables, Venom, Gladiator, Bridesmaids and The Equalizer.
In order to get this film, Sky Q users need to go to the Sky Store from their TV homepage. From there, they should see a tile that says "Your Sky Store gift on us".
Sky states: "Once downloaded, this is yours to keep forever."

Michelle Keegan rakes in a huge six figure sum while on maternity leave after welcoming first child

Michelle Keegan has raked in a huge six figure sum while on maternity leave, accounts showed on Friday. The actress and her husband, both 38, are thought to have a combined net worth of £20 million and welcomed their first child, a daughter name Palma in March. Despite taking some time away from work, Michelle has managed to increase her net worth by £441,082. According to Companies House her company Rosia Promotions is now worth a staggering £4,032,277. The company has £3,473,623 in cash and £610,370 in property. Elsewhere, the actress has reportedly signed a six-figure advertising deal to become the new face of Sky. The deal is Michelle's first major job since she gave birth to her daughter and she will film a series of promo clips with fellow British actor Idris Elba, who already appears as the 'face'. A source told The Sun: 'Michelle has really been enjoying maternity leave with Palma, but she'll be back to work soon to film these new adverts for Sky. ' Brassic is ending after the seventh series and Michelle is keen to still be a part of the Sky brand. 'Landing this ad is huge for Michelle, as she's fast becoming a brand in her own right. Everything she touches seems to turn to gold.' After leaving ITV soap Corrie in 2014, Michelle's career took off, with hits such as BBC military drama Our Girl, Sky's Brassic and BBC's Australian drama Ten Pound Poms. Last year, she had the starring role as Maya Stern in Netflix's Harlan Coben thriller Fool Me Once - which racked up more than 100 million views globally. Mark first appeared on TV in the reality show TOWIE in 2010 and continued making a name for himself in others such as I'm A Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing, which led to him presenting American entertainment news programme EXTRA for three years. Although he's earned around £5 million for his TV work, and has £1 million endorsement deals with Littlewoods and Marks & Spencer, the bulk of his fortune has been made from investing in property via his company Chigwell Properties Ltd. He's now a Heart FM DJ, too. His Essex portfolio includes five rental properties worth £6.5 million, as well as the £3.5 million Epping Forest mansion he shares with wife Michelle and their baby Palma. Michelle and Mark have been enjoying their time as parents and have been sharing small glimpses of Palma on their social media accounts. It's believed the couple chose the name Palma because of their strong links to Mallorca, which has been their go-to holiday destination for years and the setting for their pregnancy reveal photoshoot.

Michelle Keegan raking in six figures while on maternity leave making £8k a week

Former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan gave birth to her first child in March of this year alongside husband Mark Wright, with the happy couple raking it in during the new mum's maternity leave Michelle Keegan is reportedly raking in six figures while on she's maternity leave as she's able to make £8,000 a week. The actress gave birth to her first daughter Palma back in March but it's thought that she can still make money while not taking on new acting projects. The new mum reportedly raked in a huge £441,082 while she was pregnant which brings her net worth to more than £4million in total. Michelle's performing arts firm Rosie Promotions' filings show that Michelle was raking the money in while she was off on maternity leave. ‌ Accounts filed at Companies House show that she made the equivalent of £8,482 per week for the year up to September 30, 2024. This increases the net worth of the company to £4,032,277 after bills. ‌ The Sun reports that the firm has £3,473,623 in cash and £610,370 in property which includes a flat in Altrincham which was bought in 2022. Michelle made £280,000 in her firm's first year of trading and she exceeded £2 million in 2021 before £3 million in 2023. Another way Michelle makes money is by co-directing clothing business Mysa Active with her husband Mark Wright. Michelle has reportedly landed a six-figure deal to become the new face of Sky. It's thought that the star will film promo clips alongside fellow British actor Luther star Idris Elba. She managed to bag the deal after she has been a Sky staple in her comedy Brassic which is one of the most popular series on the channel. A source said: "Michelle has really been enjoying maternity leave with Palma, but she'll be back to work soon to film these new adverts for Sky. She has signed a six-figure deal for the job and is thrilled to have been chosen to appear alongside Idris, who has been their 'face'. ‌ "Brassic is ending after the seventh series and Michelle is keen to still be a part of the Sky brand. Landing this ad is huge for Michelle, as she's fast becoming a brand in her own right. Everything she touches seems to turn to gold." Michelle has found fame over the years through her acting career. She is best known for her roles on Coronation Street and Our Girl. However, being a famous actress wasn't always on the cards for Michelle. She didn't have any plans when she first left school and found herself working at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre on a make-up counter and at Manchester Airport as a check-in agent. But this didn't last for long as she them turned her hand to acting and she found success soon after. She secured first acting appearance on Coronation Street when she was offered the role of Tina McIntyre after just her second audition as an actress.
