Kapil Sharma Recalls Gate-Crashing A Wedding, Meeting Zeenat Aman With Plate In Hand

Mumbai: Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma once gate-crashed a wedding. On top of it, fate helped him, as he met Zeenat Aman at the wedding. A recently resurfaced video from Kapil's show features him narrating the story to veteran actresses Zeenat Aman and Poonam Dhillon. During the episode, Kapil told Zeenat Aman, 'It was in 2003 or 2004. I was in Delhi. My father was undergoing treatment there. One of my friends told me to come to the wedding function quickly saying, 'There are a lot of people here'. There was a wedding in Maurya in Delhi. Vandana Luthra, the daughter of the family who are into cosmetic business'. He further mentioned, as he pointed towards the actress, 'You went there. I didn't even understand, I was studying in college, and was very naive. I had a plate in my hand. I wanted to take a photo. Zeenat asked me to keep the plate down. I didn't know that it was considered ill-manner to take a photo with a plate. You were a guest there. I went there as an unauthorized guest'. The senior actress took to her Instagram, and shared a clip from her film 'Hum Kisise Kum Naheen'. The actress narrated the story behind her only scene in the film. She also penned a long in the caption, as she wrote, 'Oh, you're a Hindi cinema buff but you've never heard this song? That, my dear, is probably because you are very young. Play it for your parents, and they'll immediately be able to place it. Here's the truth, of all the men I worked with from the Kapoor khandan, Rishi and I interacted the least both socially and professionally. In fact, in all the years that our careers overlapped, we only featured together in this one song. That too because Director Nasir Hussain had me pinned as a bit of a lucky talisman that year. Why? Because 'Yaadon ki Baaraat', his previous film in which I had starred, had been a blockbuster hit'.

Fatima Sana Shaikh On Sexual Misconduct In Bollywood: ‘Things Have Changed After Me Too'

Last Updated: Fatima Sana Shaikh opens up about sexual misconduct, blurred lines of intimacy and power, and the impact of the Me Too movement in Bollywood. Fatima Sana Shaikh, known for her powerful performances in films like Dangal, Ludo, Thugs of Hindostan, and Sam Bahadur, recently opened up about the casting couch, sexual misconduct, and shifting power dynamics in Bollywood. Speaking to Humans of Bombay, the actress shared how the post-Me Too landscape has brought about change—but also how much further the industry still needs to go. When asked why she's among the few Bollywood stars to speak openly about these issues, Fatima acknowledged that the culture has started to shift in the right direction. 'I think things have changed. People are much more accountable. They are a little more fearful," she said. She highlighted that many film sets today have mechanisms in place to deal with misconduct. 'There is a conversation. There is an investigation… it exists in every industry," she added, pointing out that complaints are taken more seriously than before. Delving deeper into the nuanced reality of misconduct, Fatima shed light on the grey areas that often go unnoticed, especially when personal and professional boundaries blur. 'You are working with someone, you have become intimate. But then you don't understand, the lines are blurred. Then there is the dynamic of the power," she explained. She also touched on how accountability is now a part of the equation. 'Because it is a male-dominant industry. And now, after Me Too, women can talk about it… You will be held accountable," she said. Addressing her personal experience, Fatima clarified that while she has faced uncomfortable situations, she has never been a victim of outright sexual misconduct within Bollywood. 'It's not like the industry is bad. Any incident that has happened, it's just been this one little, small-time somebody and some conversation," she remarked. Fatima also drew attention to the fact that such issues are not limited to the entertainment industry. In fact, she believes they may be worse in the corporate world. 'Corporate is life when you are together. So there, it's even more rampant… and even more toxic," she stated. She praised OTT platforms like Amazon and Netflix for enforcing strict guidelines to protect cast and crew. 'Somebody will come from this agency… you will have a meeting with the cast, crew, and all the HODs. You will be told what your rights are, what is appropriate, what is not," Fatima explained, referring to the PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) sessions that are now mandatory during shoots. In closing, Fatima said she sees hope in the steps being taken to ensure accountability across industries. 'People are being held accountable for their actions — not only in our industry, but in corporate and beyond. And that is what progress looks like," she concluded. First Published:

Box Office Comparison: Sitaare Zameen Par vs Drishyam 2 and Taare Zameen Par trend analysis

Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, is winning hearts at the box office. The movie started its box office journey on a decent note but managed to show solid growth over the weekend. While it collected Rs 10.50 crore on Day 1, the movie went on to smash Rs 19.50 crore on Day 2, with an unimaginable growth of 90 percent. The movie is registering a solid occupancy on its Day 3 as well, and it is expected to smash over Rs 30 crore today, taking the opening weekend cume to nearly Rs 60 crore net in India. Here's analysing its box office potential while comparing its trends with its prequel, Taare Zameen Par, and the last non-action movie, which witnessed surreal growth, Drishyam 2. The 2007 released Taare Zameen Par had recorded a weekend of Rs 9.65 crore and went on to clock Rs 62 crore net by the end of its theatrical run, showing an extraordinary trend. Its lifetime business was 6.45 times more than its opening weekend cume, which is unprecedented even in today's times. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn's 2022 released Drishyam 2 had collected Rs 62 crore in its weekend and went on to register 3.77× growth in its lifetime, with closing earnings of Rs 234 crore net in India. What if Sitaare Zameen Par performs on the lines of Taare Zameen Par and Drishyam 2 Considering the growth of Taare Zameen Par and Drishyam 2 from their opening weekend to their lifetime earnings as two major parameters, the latest Aamir Khan movie is in good space. If the movie trends like its prequel, it will score over Rs 387 crore net (Rs 60 crore × 6.45) in its lifetime collection, which will be a massive feat for such a genre film. However, achieving this mammoth figure is far from a stretch as business standards have changed significantly from 2007 to 2025. But we would love to be surprised and hope the Aamir Khan starrer does the unthinkable at the box office. If Sitaare Zameen Par followed the box office trajectory of Drishyam 2 and performed on similar lines, it would do Rs 226.20 crore net in its entire domestic run. This figure is quite in the range as Aamir Khan's movie has high chances of doing 4.5 to 5× its opening weekend, which suggests a lifetime business in the vicinity of Rs 250 crore to Rs 300 crore net in India. However, it is still too early to predict its lifetime business. Sitaare Zameen Par 's first Monday hold and weekday performance will determine how far it can go at the box office. Still, one can hope for glorious days ahead, as we already have a box office winner on the cards. Particulars Sitaare Zameen Par Taare Zameen Par Drishyam 2 1st Weekend Rs 60 crore (exp.) Rs 9.65 crore Rs 62 crore Lifetime Multiplier 4.5x (exp.) 6.45x 3.77x Lifetime Rs 270 crore (exp.) Rs 62 crore Rs 237 crore Percentage change 350%+ 545%+ 282.25%+ Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates. Disclaimer: The box office figures are compiled from various sources and our research. The figures can be approximate, and Pinkvilla does not make any claims about the authenticity of the data. However, they are adequately indicative of the box-office performance of the films in question.
