
Concert Review: K-POP Masterz 2025 Brings ATEEZ & Cravity To Malaysia For The First Time
On the last day of May, KPOP Masterz 2025 brought two beloved bands to Malaysia for the first time, and the result was nothing short of spectacular. Held in Kuala Lumpur, the concert featured powerhouse performers ATEEZ (에이티즈) and rising stars CRAVITY (에이티즈). As the lights dimmed and the opening beats dropped, the atmosphere surged with excitement, setting the stage for a night filled with energy, emotion, and world-class performances.
Taking place on 31st May (Saturday), the performance was held at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC). Kicking off the night, CRAVITY opened with their electrifying track 'VENI VIDI VICI', instantly igniting the crowd. The venue erupted with cheers and a wave of glowing lightsticks, creating an unforgettable scene that set the tone for the rest of the evening.
CRAVITY
The moment the lights went out, the venue burst into cheers as fans eagerly waited to see which band would appear first. Blue LEDs swept across the arena, and when CRAVITY's name lit up the screen, the energy soared. One by one, the members were introduced on screen before jumping straight into their hit song 'VENI VIDI VICI', kicking things off with sharp choreography that grabbed everyone's attention.
Without missing a beat, CRAVITY transitioned into 'Love or Die'. The audience roared even louder, waving their lightsticks in rhythm with the music. The stunning lights and immersive atmosphere blended seamlessly with the sound, leaving us in awe throughout the entire performance. Even while executing intricate choreography, the members showcased breathtaking vocals, proving their talent and professionalism on every level.
After the first two performances, MC Hani Fazdil took the stage to officially introduce the evening's hosts. Each CRAVITY member reintroduced themselves, expressing their surprise at how loud the fans had been, even before the group appeared, proving just how strong Malaysia's love for them truly is. The members then walked to the centre stage, smiling and waving to the audience all around. Before diving into the night's interactive segment, they reignited the crowd's energy with another fan favourite, 'Adrenaline'.
To keep the momentum going, the organisers introduced a few games for the members to play. The group entertained the audience while competing in lighthearted challenges. As a playful punishment, three losing members walked down the centre stage, drawing cheers and laughter from the crowd. CRAVITY then wrapped up their set with strong performances of 'My Turn', 'C'est La Vie', and 'Now or Never'. They closed the night with their explosive track 'Break All the Rules', after wishing everyone a warm and joyful 'Happy Raya Holiday.'
ATEEZ
With the first hour flying by, you might expect the audience to start cooling down, but that was far from the case. The moment bold red LEDs lit up the hall and ATEEZ's name appeared on the screen, the venue erupted in deafening cheers and screams. They kicked off their set with 'Guerrilla', accompanied by flashing red lights and an explosive atmosphere. Fans immediately sang along, echoing the lyrics while the group delivered sharp, synchronised choreography.
The performance shook the entire venue with its powerful beats. ATINYs responded with full force, their voices rising to match the energy of the performance. ATEEZ showcased their vocal range and stage presence, flawlessly balancing intense choreography with soaring vocals. After formally introducing themselves to the crowd, they launched into 'Say My Name'. With every beat drop, fans screamed their biases' names, filling the room with unrelenting passion and love.
Next up was the fan-favourite track, 'The Real', and the energy in the venue instantly skyrocketed. Each time the beat dropped, confetti burst from the stage, adding to the explosive atmosphere. Near the end of the performance, ATEEZ member Wooyoung (우영) broke into an impressive dance solo, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. Following the high-energy performance, the group took a brief break for a fun Q&A session, offering fans a more personal moment.
They then moved to the centre stage and kept the momentum going with powerful performances of 'Ice on My Teeth' and 'Desire'. Afterwards, they engaged in short games with the audience, deepening their connection with ATINYs and expressing their gratitude. As the night drew to a close, the members began their heartfelt farewells. To show their love, they performed 'Turbulence' as purple confetti floated through the air, creating a warm and emotional atmosphere. Finally, ATEEZ ended the night on a high with two explosive closing songs: 'Work' and 'Bouncy'.
This event marked the first time either band had performed in Malaysia. Malaysian LUVITYs and ATINYs made sure to prove just how loud and passionate they could be, hoping it won't be long before the groups return. The night perfectly showcased the contrast and balance between CRAVITY's youthful charm and ATEEZ's powerful stage presence. Together, they created a dynamic energy that made the entire concert unforgettable for everyone in attendance.

Yesterday (19th June 2025), TXT's (투모로우바이투게더) creative director, known as Minchae, posted a series of her past projects featuring TXT's Beomgyu (최범규) more on her Instagram stories, which netizens have speculated to be a jab at CRAVITY's (크래비티) 'Dare To Crave' new concept photos. After all the uploads, the creative director then shared a photo of a coffee cup, overlaid with the caption: 'Authenticity & sincerity.' It is known that the creative director behind CRAVITY's recent rebranding is also TXT's former visual director, who goes by the alias Rakta. After CRAVITY's 'Dare To Crave' concept photos were released on Tuesday (17th June 2025), netizens quickly pointed out striking similarities to the creative direction used in TXT Beomgyu's 'Panic' project, sparking major backlash and accusations of plagiarism. Twitter user @/crvtty commented, 'Wow… so the creative team behind CRAVITY's rebranding and Dare To Crave concept is Rakta's team? She was TXT's visual director!' Others expressed disappointment over the apparent copying of concepts, while also defending CRAVITY from direct blame. K-pop Fans Defend CRAVITY's Unique Concept Photos For Upcoming Album
Fans are always eagerly awaiting their favourite K-pop idol groups to make a comeback. As part of the promotional campaign, agencies often publish concept photos of the group members to tease fans about the overall theme of the album. There have been many instances where a particular member's concept photos have broken the internet due to their visuals, but in CRAVITY (크래비티)'s case, it's for an entirely different reason. The group made waves online over the weekend, with K-pop fans divided over just how unusual their concept photos are. The group recently underwent a lineup change, with new leadership now consisting of the original members and Hyeongjun. As such, the concept photos for their upcoming album 'Dare to Crave' are expected to reflect the boy band's current journey. On 14th June (Saturday), the group released the concept images, which depict each member, dressed in white, hatching and crawling out of an egg, covered in some sort of translucent fluid. As soon as the photos were published, many expressed shock and even disgust at the somewhat unsettling visuals. According to Allkpop, some fans have expressed disappointment with the creative team for portraying the idols in questionable poses and using unsettling imagery. Fortunately, however, the majority of reactions have been overwhelmingly positive. Many came to the group's defence, stating that the imagery of them hatching from eggs perfectly symbolises their rebranding — or in other words, their rebirth. Others argued that CRAVITY may have delivered one of the most interesting and creative concept photo sets by a K-pop idol group in recent years, especially given how similar most concept photos tend to be. As for the members themselves, they too responded to fans' reactions to the photos. Minhee admitted that he was the most shocked about the whole thing and that he wanted to go home during the shoot. 'We would unintentionally shove the person next to us and say to each other, 'Oh, god, I am so sorry'. Then, it all became so funny that we basically thought of ourselves as human curling stones. (It's like we played curling with human bodies.) We tried to laugh it off as best we could. It was fun.' Other than sampling our local delicacies, it's always exciting to see our favourite K-pop idols donning traditional attire. In recent years, several idols, including members of ATEEZ and GOT7's Mark Tuan, have been spotted wearing the Baju Melayu. The only difference is that the former wore them during a fansign event in South Korea, while the latter did so during his visit to Malaysia. Just like ATEEZ, it seems we've got another K-pop idol who went viral after being gifted the Malaysian traditional attire. It's none other than Kim Hanbin (김한빈), also known as B.I (비아이), who donned a Baju Melayu on during a recent fansign event in his home country! During his recent fansign event in South Korea over the weekend, the 'Tasty' singer received a set of Baju Melayu (Cekak Musang style), complete with a Songkok and Sampin. With the help of a staff member, the 28-year-old put on the traditional attire onstage during the event. Photos and videos of him in Baju Melayu quickly went viral on social media, with Malaysian fans expressing their excitement and delight at seeing their favourite artist wearing the outfit. Many described how handsome B.I looked in the Baju Melayu, while others praised the fan who prepared the gift for choosing a colour that suited him perfectly, even pointing out how the sampin complemented his current hair colour. Another video circulated showing a fan interacting with the idol about Malaysian fans' positive reaction to the viral photos, to which he admitted that the outfit was a little too small for him. This was evident, as he was seen struggling to put on and take off the top of the traditional attire.
