"I'll never walk her down the aisle, I'll never meet her first child," Greg Bragger said. Caitlyn Bragger died when her unlicensed 16-year-old boyfriend allegedly lost control of a Land Cruiser near Logue Brook Dam on Saturday night. (Supplied) The vehicle rolled several times at Hoffman, about 150km south of Perth. She was one of six teens in the car. Five others were injured, one of whom had to be cut from the wreck by volunteer firefighters. Four have since been discharged from hospital, while another remains in Royal Perth. "Their lives will go on, mine's just empty," Bragger said. It's understood the group had been on a camping trip to celebrate Caitlyn and her boyfriend's anniversary. Her 47-year-old father, a former army veteran, said nothing in his life had prepared him for the pain of losing his only child. "Ten years in the army, it's nothing compared to this," he said. "She had no fear... tell her she couldn't do something, she'd prove you wrong. His final message to her before the trip simply read "Stay safe, and enjoy". ‘Forever 17:' Funeral for teen Pheobe Bishop
A funeral service for Bundaberg teenager Pheobe Bishop will be held 16 days after her remains were found in bushland following her disappearance. The 17-year-old was last seen on May 15, on her way to Bundaberg Airport to board a flight to visit her boyfriend in Western Australia. She was reported missing the following day. Police allege she was murdered by her flatmates James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, on the day she was last seen. The pair were arrested on June 5 following a failed search to find the missing teen. They were charged with murder and two counts of interfering with a corpse. Pheobe's body was discovered near Good Night Scrub National Park the following day. Credit: Supplied A funeral for the teen will be held with her family and friends in Bundaberg before a private cremation at the Springfields Crematorium at Elliott Heads at 2pm on Monday June 30. Messages have flooded the funeral notice offering their condolences to her family. 'It is so very sad you were taken from life as you were. You will remain forever young in the hearts of all who knew and loved you. May your soul rest peacefully,'one message read. 'My heartfelt condolences to Pheobe's family and friends, a young life cut short senselessly,' another said. 'Sincere condolences. Such a tragic end to a young life. Her family have asked for donations to be made to Pheobe's Go Fund Me page in lieu of flowers, which has already raised $7600. Tracey Berends organised the tribute on behalf of Ms Bishop's family saying their world was shattered when the bright, kind-hearted and deeply loved young woman was taken from them far too soon. 'Pheobe had a gentle soul and a generous spirit – always caring for others and standing up for what was right,' she told a vigil earlier this month. 'We want her legacy to live on and by paying it forward to the amazing volunteers and community.' Her mother Kylie Johnson said at the vigil she never expected a situation like that would happen to her. 'Now, unfortunately, we know that she is not going to come home to us,' she said. 'I have no words that could ever, ever describe what the last three-and-a-half weeks … it's just weighed us down.' 'Phee was more than glorious, she was compassionate, she was caring, she was resilient, she was relentless at times.'

Queensland Police have given a major update as their hunt for a Chinese national accused of throwing a scalding hot coffee over a baby intensifies. A nationwide manhunt turned into a global one in August 2024 after a man poured hot coffee on a baby in Brisbane's Hanlon Park, leaving him with 'life-changing injuries'. The baby, called Luka, was rushed to hospital and underwent a number of surgical procedures. He survived, but is expected to carry lifelong scarring as a result. Police released a photograph of the man who allegedly committed the crime, saying he was a Chinese national. But the man fled the country a short time later. Speaking on 4BC radio, Queensland Police Service Acting Commissioner Shane Chelepy said that 10 months later, the investigation was 'absolutely' ongoing. 'This was a horrible incident that happened almost a year ago, it struck our investigators pretty hard,' he said. 'I give credit to those investigators, they're still working very hard on this, this isn't something we've parked in the corner, this is a very serious offence, and they're working hard on it. 'What I can say is we're still working with our international partners to progress this matter, and to get a resolution here.' Mr Chelepy said he did not want to compromise the investigation by giving away too much information, and would not be drawn on whether detectives had travelled to China. 'There are a range of investigative strategies underway, and we're going to keep these strategies at play,' he said. 'I don't want to compromise (the) investigative strategy.' The man's name has not been released and no other details about his identity have been revealed to the public. Luka's parents wrote on a GoFundMe page last year about the devastating toll the attack had had on their family. 'It's a long road to recovery when it comes to scar management, but the worst of it is over, and the outcome is far better than we ever imagined from those first few days,' his mum wrote. 'We now only have to attend outpatients once a week, a big improvement from the twice-a-week general anaesthetic surgeries.' His mother had previously written about how she hoped 'one day justice will be served'.
