Tricity topper
in CBSE Class X results, scoring 100% marks. She scored 500 marks out of 500.
Srishti, a resident of Sector 25, Panchkula, credited her parents, teachers, and God for her success. "Besides my hard work, my parents and teachers' support played an important role.
Above all, it's due to God," the elated topper told TOI.She used to study for long hours and ensured she did not leave any topic unstudied. "Normally, I studied for 10-12 hours a day, and during examinations, I studied for 18-20 hours. I ensured I did not leave any part of any subject or topic," she shared. She aspires to do engineering from IIT Bombay. "I do not have an interest in sports. I love studying," she added.Her proud father Rajiv Sharma, who is in a clerical job at CITCO, said, "She did not take any tuition or coaching classes. This is all result of self-study, other than what teachers taught her in school." Her mother is a housewife.Besides, Yashasvi Bhav of Hansraj Public School, Sector 6, Panchkula, also got an impressive score of 99.8%. For her, rather than solely focusing on studies, it was about striking a balance between different things. "I would not say I sacrificed this or that for studies or left watching TV. In fact, I did everything but struck a balance. Every child aspires to score 500/500. A mark or two here and there does not matter," said Yashasvi, whose mother is a dentist. She aims to crack JEE.Amisha of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, also performed excellently, scoring 99.8%. "This really means a lot to me, and I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my parents and teachers for their constant support and encouragement. Their guidance, motivation, and belief in me played a crucial role in helping me stay focused and give my best. Plus One admission: State syllabus schools in Ernakulam see drop in CBSE student enrolment

Kochi: As Plus One classes began in govt, aided and unaided higher secondary schools on Wednesday, most schools in the district reported at least a 50% drop in CBSE student enrolments. School authorities attribute this decline to the high Class XII pass percentage in Thiruvananthapuram CBSE region, which includes schools in Kerala and Lakshadweep. This has led to numerous students deciding to continue within CBSE curriculum. Meanwhile, school authorities also cite the bonus weightage given to state board students for co-curricular activities as one of the reasons for CBSE students not making it to the allotment rank list. Bonus points weightage given for participation in National Cadet Corps (NCC), Student Police Cadet (SPC) and opting for same school have provided a clear advantage for state syllabus students in Class XI admissions. Incidentally, students who completed SSLC under state board also receive a preference in admission process. He also added that with more students moving abroad, foreign universities increasingly prefer CBSE education as a criterion for assessing English proficiency. "Moreover, implementation of national education policy-oriented teaching practices has further encouraged students to continue in CBSE curriculum," Khan said.
