Ferne McCann's ex 'injected with steroids in jail' after major police probe

Daily Mirror9 hours ago

Ferne McCann's ex, Arthur Collins, is serving a 20-year sentence for hurling acid inside a London nightclub - leaving 16 people with chemical burns and three temporarily blinded
Ferne McCann's ex, Arthur Collins, has been caught getting a suspected steroid injection in jail, according to reports. The 32-year-old, who shares daughter Sunday, six, with TOWIE star, Ferne, 34, is serving a 20-year sentence for hurling acid inside a London nightclub - leaving 16 people with chemical burns and three temporarily blinded.
This week, the Mirror reported that Collins has been moved to a tougher jail after being probed over fears he was plotting to smuggle drugs into Cat C HMP The Mount using drones. In a video published yesterday - reportedly taken from The Mount on a phone smuggled into his cell - the dad-of-one can be seen with his top off, wearing a pair of tracksuit bottoms and appears to receive a jab in his buttock from another prisoner.
In the clip from The Sun, Collins is asked: 'Hey, bruv, what are you doing?' by a fellow lag before replying: 'Injecting.' The exchange shows Collins laughing, apparently receiving the injection as his pal jokes: "You think you're big or what?"
Collins could face disciplinary action after the body-building drug was seemingly sneaked into the jail, along with a handset used to record footage in his cell.
The former scaffolder was recently switched from The Mount Prison — where the footage was taken — amid fears he was plotting to import drugs using drones.
Claiming the criminal is 'constantly in trouble,' a source said: 'Collins has been in trouble constantly and doesn't seem to care. He goes around like he is the big 'I am' and as if he rules the roost.'
Prison chiefs launched an investigation over suspicions that dealers were flooding the Mount with drugs using drones. Concerns were raised that Collins had masterminded the plot in the Herts prison. No police investigation was carried out, but the Mirror revealed that Fern's ex has been moved to a tougher jail.
A source told us: "Collins has been at the centre of a major internal prison investigation. There were fears drug dealers had been using drones to flood HMP The Mount with drugs. It's a huge worry that tens of thousands of pounds worth of drugs were going to make their way into the jail.
"The police have not been called in as it has been dealt with internally. Collins has now been moved to another prison, which is a lot stricter."
Collins launched his acid attack on a packed dance floor at Mangle nightclub in Dalston, East London, during an Easter weekend night out in April 2017.
He had claimed he threw the substance by mistake after hearing a group of men plotting to spike a woman's drink.
The court heard that he picked up a container that he thought was a date rape drug and threw it away. But a jury found him guilty of carrying out the acid attack that left clubbers in agony and sparked a panicked evacuation and a massive emergency response.
He was convicted of five counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and nine of actual bodily harm.

Johnny Depp: My friends betrayed me

Johnny Depp, the Hollywood actor, has claimed he was betrayed by his friends after being accused of abuse by his ex-wife Amber Heard. The strongly denied claims were first levelled against Depp, 62, by Heard during divorce proceedings in 2016. The actor's failed marriage to the 39-year-old actress made international headlines when details of alleged violence between the pair were aired in courts in the UK and US. Depp has now criticised the behaviour of several close friends at the time and also claimed he had been a 'crash test dummy for the #MeToo movement'. 'I'll tell you what hurts. There are people, and I'm thinking of three, who did me dirty. Those people were at my kids' parties, throwing them in the air,' he told The Sunday Times. 'And, look, I understand people who could not stand up [for me], because the most frightening thing to them was making the right choice.' One individual who spoke out against Depp despite their long working relationship was Tracey Jacobs, his agent of 30 years, who was sacked in 2016. She claimed during Depp's legal battles that studios were 'reluctant' to hire him because of his lateness. Depp said of Jacobs: 'My loyalty is the last thing anybody could question. I was with one agent for 30 years, but she spoke in court about how difficult I was.' His image came under global scrutiny when he brought a libel case against The Sun newspaper after he was described as a 'wife-beater' in a column. Numerous alleged details of the couple's marriage were made public during the case, including claims of the actor having a finger severed, being struck by Heard, passing out drunk and finding her faeces in their bed. Depp said he felt compelled to risk revealing details of his personal life, adding: 'Look, it had gone far enough. I knew I'd have to semi-eviscerate myself. Everyone was saying 'It'll go away'. But I can't trust that.' While a judge ruled against Depp in his High Court case against The Sun, the star won damages for defamation from Heard in June 2022 following a legal battle in the US. But the allegations of abuse levelled against Depp by Heard continued to dog the film star, whose presence at the Cannes film festival in 2023 was opposed by several feminist groups in France. Following a period away from major Hollywood productions, Depp has this year been working on his comeback film Day Drinker. In the thriller, Depp will star as a mysterious guest on a private yacht who finds himself entangled with a criminal, played by Penelope Cruz.

Andy Carroll and Lou Teasdale 'disappointed' after police called over row

Footballer, Andy Carroll, and his girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, admitted that the police were called after the couple had a 'heated discussion', which they say was 'blown out of proportion' Andy Carroll and his hair stylist girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, have admitted they were spoken to by police following a row between the couple on the Greek island of Mykonos. The pair, who have been dating since last year following the footballer's split with the mum of his three kids, Billi Mucklow, revealed they'd had a "heated discussion" while on the party island, but that things had been "blown out of proportion". Andy, 36, was reportedly questioned about a bust-up he'd had with Lou, 42, at a packed beachside restaurant and then at their hotel. One worker at the Nikolus Tavern said of the first argument: 'We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately. He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.' ‌ ‌ The Sun reports that police arrived and took the former West Ham ace, who was "very calm" to one side for a chat. He was later allowed to return to Lou, who is a well-known celebrity hairstylist. However, hours later police were reportedly called again by staff after reports of damage to the couple's room at a £500-a-night boutique hotel. Officers are said to have escorted Andy to a local station for questioning but no arrests were made. Another source claimed Lou did not stay with her boyfriend that night. They said: "After the restaurant episode, there was another incident at the hotel. This time, the footballer went to the police station. We know the woman stayed somewhere else that night.' Meanwhile, a British holidaymaker who reportedly spotted the pair while out for a stroll accused Andy of being "very drunk" adding that he shouted at Lou: "I'm done with us!" ‌ Responding to the reports, Andy and Lou admitted that the police were called following their "heated discussion", however they insisted things had been "blown out of proportion", issuing a joint statement, which read: "Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. 'We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to 'look after' us. 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested, and no one was charged with anything. "We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together, and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.'

The majority of people in the UK need to pay £174.50 fee to watch live TV and catch-up content on BBC iPlayer. In the UK, in order to watch or record any live TV, or to watch catch-up or live content on the BBC iPlayer, Brits need to pay for a TV licence. For those who do not have a licence and are caught streaming content, they could be fined up to £1000. The licence is not just applicable to watching content on a television, but also applies for laptops, computers, phones and tablets. The fee for the licence has recently risen to £174.50, but this can be paid either monthly, quarterly or annually. ‌ Over in Guernsey, the maximum fine is £2,000, as well as any legal costs or compensation that you may be ordered to pay. ‌ However, there are four specific groups of people who do not need to pay this fee, or have the ability to reduce the price of the current fee, reports the Mirror. It should be noted that if you are only watching shows on catch-up using a streaming service that isn't BBC iPlayer, then you don't need to have a TV licence. This includes popular apps such as Netflix, Disney Plus, YouTube, Amazon Prime, ITVX, All4 and My5. However, if you are using these services to watch live shows, then you will still need to pay the £174.50 fee for a TV licence. ‌ For those who don't need a TV license as they are not watching live TV and aren't using BBC iPlayer, you can fill in a declaration form on the TV Licensing website. However, by doing so, the website warns that they may visit your address to confirm that you do not need to pay the fee. If you are found to be lying, the website details the repercussions that can follow. The website states: "We could visit your address to confirm if you need a TV licence. ‌ "If we find that you have been watching, recording or streaming programmes illegally, you risk prosecution and a fine for not having a TV licence of up to £1,000 plus any legal costs and/or compensation you may be ordered to pay." You can easily pay and renew your TV licence online, over the phone, at a pay point or with a TV Licensing payment card. ‌ Are you eligible for a cheap or free TV licence? There are four groups of people in the UK that are able to get a TV licence for free or have the price reduced. Over-75 and claiming Pension Credit - People aged over 75 who are claiming Pension Credit can get a free TV licence. Students living away from home - Students who are living away from home may also be covered if their parents have a TV licence, but only if they're watching TV on a device that isn't plugged into the mains, such as a phone, tablet or laptop. People who are blind or severely sight-impaired - If someone in your household is blind or severely sight-impaired, you'll get 50 per cent off the cost of your TV licence. Residential care or sheltered accommodation - If you live in residential care or sheltered accommodation, you may be able to apply for a concessionary TV licence which costs £7.50 per room, flat or bungalow.
