Man accused in ‘horrific' deaths of family of four in NY arrested, officials say
A man suspected of killing a family of four in New York, including two young children, was arrested in the Dominican Republic, authorities said.
Luis Francisco Soriano, also known as Jefry Yevo, was working at a hotel in Punta Cana after learning that federal marshals were in Puerto Rico, where he fled to after the killings, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a June 4 news release.
He was one of the USMS District of Puerto Rico's top 10 most wanted fugitives, according to authorities.
Dominican authorities and members of the USMS in Santo Domingo arrested the 31-year-old Soriano after he finished a shift at the hotel's call center, authorities said.
'Every case is important to us, but this one not only deeply impacted our communities in New York and Puerto Rico, it shook our entire nation,' Wilmer Ocasio-Ibarra, U.S. Marshal for the District of Puerto Rico, said in the release.
'The horrific nature of this crime, which resulted in the tragic death of a family, including two innocent children, rocked the very foundation of our society governed by law and order.'
Soriano and his brother are accused of killing two kids, ages 2 and 4, and their parents at their home in Irondequoit on Aug. 31, 2024, authorities said and WHEC reported.
Police found the family dead in the basement while responding to a fire, according to WHEC.
Soriano and his brother, Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano, who was arrested a week after the killings, face charges including murder, burglary, kidnapping and arson, WHAM reported.
Irondequoit is about 5-mile drive northeast from Rochester.

A New Brunswick man has been apprehended on charges he attempted to murder a North Brunswick police officer by ramming a police car in the parking lot of a Route 1 hotel in South Brunswick in May. After a month's long manhunt, Luis Duval-Jimenez, 31, was taken into custody June 18 by the U.S. Marshals Service in North Jersey in connection with the May 15 incident, according to South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka. Duval-Jimenez has been charged with attempted murder of a police officer, resisting arrest and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He has been remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending trial. His next court appearance is scheduled for a pre-indictment conference before Superior Court Judge Colleen Flynn on July 29. The incident began at about 12:35 p.m. when the North Brunswick officers were staking out a room at Hotel Vincenza on Route 1 in South Brunswick, looking for Duval-Jimenez. who was wanted as part of an extensive investigation into car thefts and frauds in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Hayducka said. But Duval-Jimenez accelerated the car and allegedly rammed the police vehicle as North Brunswick Police Lt. Frank Vitelli was getting out of the car, pinning his leg in the doorframe. North Brunswick Police Capt. Cory Harris attempted to open the driver's side door of the Honda to stop Duval-Jimenez from ramming the police vehicle but as the door opened, a loaded handgun dropped out onto the parking lot, Hayducka said. Duval-Jimenez drove out of the parking lot after he rammed the police vehicle. Vitelli was taken by South Brunswick EMS to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was treated for a broken ankle. After the Honda Accord left the scene, South Brunswick officers located and arrested two people allegedly connected to the assault on the officer. Angelica Hernandez-Mayrena 25, of New Brunswick, was found nearby on Deans Lane, and Bryan Sanchez, 20, of New Brunswick, was located along Route 1. Hernandez-Mayrena was charged with criminal trespass and Sanchez was chargedwith hindering the apprehension of another. They were both released on a summons. Rapper Fat Joe Slammed For Sex And Falling In Love With A Minor
The ghosts of Fat Joe's alleged messy past are coming back to haunt him through a familiar channel! A former staff member of the rapper has accused him of engaging in illicit activity with teenage girls while they worked together. Fat Joe's camp has vehemently denied the allegations and accuses his former staff of being vindictive in this regard, simply because the rapper had previously sued them. Dixon, filed a lawsuit on Thursday stating that there were at least two underage females with whom Joe had sexual relations, and another with whom he allegedly fell in love. In the documents, Dixon's lawyer, Tyrone A. Blackburn, noted that a 16-year-old girl of Dominican descent once offered to perform oral and other sexual acts on Joe in exchange for money, clothes, and cell phone bill payments. Dixon even alleges that Joe entered into a sexual affair with a 15-year-old Caucasian girl after meeting with her at a concert abroad. According to him, Joe had regularly flown her to New York and Miami and paid for a BBL because her body was not fully developed. Dixon added that the girl in question is now married to a professional athlete. In the lawsuit, Dixon alleges that Fat Joe also fell in love with a Latina, and a sexual relationship started between them at just 15 years old. Joe reportedly sorted out all her financial commitments and had taken her abroad while he was performing on tours. He even got her into a condo close to where he and his wife lived in Florida and had reportedly considered leaving his wife to move in with her. According to Dixon, Joe has a sticky predilection for underage females, as he had sung about in his track "She Loves My Mama." The former hype man continued that Joe also involved him in his shenanigans by forcing him to have sex with women after his concerts. At the time, these acts happened in front of other people. As reported by TMZ, Dixon added that Joe underpaid him as a music collaborator, did not give him songwriting rights, and hid royalties and backend settlements.
