Could GTA 5's Franklin return in GTA 6 as a mentor or target?

Time of India2 days ago

Ever since GTA 6 was announced with a shiny new setting and a fresh duo, Jason and Lucia, fans have been wondering: Will we see familiar faces return? And if so, what about
Franklin Clinton
? The young hustler from Los Santos who went from repo man to millionaire assassin is now a fan favorite.

So here's the question on everyone's mind: could Franklin pop up in GTA 6 as a mentor.
.. or a target?
Franklin's Rise from Hood to Hollywood
By the end of GTA 5, Franklin had it made. He had cash, respect, real estate, and ties to some of the most powerful figures in Los Santos. If you played the
Contract
DLC in GTA Online, you'd know he's now running
F. Clinton and Partner
, a high-end 'celebrity solutions' agency with
none other than Dr. Dre
on speed dial.
Franklin's glow-up isn't just legit—it's
next-level
. But this kind of success doesn't come without enemies, right?

Why He Could Be a Mentor to Jason or Lucia
Let's say Lucia and Jason, fresh out of prison and on the run, need someone to show them how to play the system
without
getting killed or caught.
Franklin fits the bill. He's been there, done that, and probably still has a few burner phones lying around.
A mentorship role makes perfect sense:
He understands loyalty and betrayal.
He knows the criminal grind, but also how to get out.
He's smart, strategic, and plays the long game, which is exactly what Lucia seems to want.
And with Franklin's agency connections, he could be the bridge between the new Leonida underworld and the remnants of Los Santos' elite.
But What If He's the Target?
Here's the flip side: Franklin is now a big name. Wealthy, well-known, and maybe a little too confident. And in GTA, that makes you a
walking target
.
Imagine Lucia and Jason get hired to take someone down. A 'high-value asset' in another state. They pull the file… and it's Franklin Clinton. Maybe he's got dirt on the wrong people. Maybe someone from his past wants revenge. Or maybe he's become part of a corrupt system that Jason and Lucia are trying to burn down. That would hit hard.

Rockstar Loves Connecting Universes
Rockstar has been quietly tying together GTA Online and storylines across games. Franklin's already made the leap from GTA V to GTA Online's The Contract update.

If they're continuing that shared-universe vibe, it wouldn't be wild to see him pop up again in GTA 6.
Whether Franklin shows up to hand over some hard-earned wisdom or finds himself in someone's crosshairs, either role would be iconic. He's too important to just disappear — and if Rockstar plays it right, his return could be a turning point in GTA 6's story. One thing's for sure: if Franklin rolls up in Leonida, it's gonna be awesome.

Twitch CEO: GTA 6 launch won't affect GTA 5's 'popularity'

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy believes that Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) will maintain its popularity on the streaming platform, even after the highly anticipated launch of GTA 6 . Speaking at a recent The Game Business Live event, Clancy highlighted the unique and enduring appeal of GTA 5 's roleplaying (RP) community as the key factor. Despite being released in 2013, the older GTA V continues to draw significant viewership on Twitch, accumulating a remarkable 1.4 billion hours watched in 2024 alone. Clancy explained that this sustained engagement to the game's expansive and creative RP scene, where streamers develop intricate characters and narratives. He also noted that this 'improv theater' aspect keeps audiences captivated for extended periods. What is GTA V's roleplaying community and what Dan Clancy thinks about it GTA RP offers a viewing experience that differs from traditional competitive games like Call of Duty or League of Legends, which often require some familiarity with gameplay mechanics. Instead, GTA RP focuses on entertainment through unscripted storytelling, allowing audiences to watch streamers engage in spontaneous and often dramatic or humorous roleplay. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Here's A List Of Cheapest Steel Suppliers (See List) Steel Suppliers | search ads Search Now Undo No prior gaming knowledge is needed—viewers simply watch characters interact in unpredictable, real-time scenarios. Some, like Clancy, view this format as a form of digital performance art. He suggests that it could even be studied in theatre programs for its narrative depth and improvisational aspects. For many participants, this goes beyond gaming—they create and inhabit detailed characters, performing live for an audience. Despite growing excitement for GTA 6, the RP community may not transition to the new game immediately. With the May 2026 release scheduled only for consoles, and no confirmation from Rockstar about mod support or PC tools, streamers may continue using GTA V for RP. Clancy estimates that RP-compatible mods may take 6 to 18 months after PC launch to become available. Until then, Twitch streamers and roleplay enthusiasts are expected to remain with GTA V, where the RP infrastructure already exists.

6 side activities that could make GTA 6 insanely replayable

(Image via Rockstar Games) GTA 6 is shaping up to be the most ambitious entry in Rockstar's legendary series — and with the vast state of Leonida to explore, there's one thing every fan wants: replayability. Main story missions? Great. But what really makes a GTA game iconic are the random things you can do when you're not saving (or destroying) the world. So here are 6 side activities Rockstar could pack into GTA 6 to keep players hooked long after the credits roll. 1. Drug Dealing Jason and Lucia are clearly tied to the underworld, and GTA has flirted with drug dealing in the past. But imagine a full-on, evolving mini-economy—like managing supply chains, avoiding feds, striking deals with shady dealers. Think Breaking Bad meets GTA . Every region could have different rules, risks, and rewards. Not just sell-and-run— build an empire. GTA 6 To Feature A Rap Group That Looks A Lot Like The City Girls 2. Rap Battles & Music Production With Real Dimez and Only Raw Records part of the world, Rockstar has to lean into this. How cool would it be to spit bars in underground rap battles or produce viral tracks in a mini music-making sim? Custom beats, lyric choices, and performing at clubs could become a whole vibe. Let players live the hip-hop hustle. 3. Extreme Sports Challenges Vice City's beaches + Mount Kalaga's wilderness = a playground for adrenaline junkies. Picture dirt bike races through wetlands, base jumps off towers, illegal jet ski courses, or even wingsuit flying. Add leaderboards or online challenges, and this becomes a TikTok-worthy flex spot. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo 4. Social Media Clout Missions We're in 2026—of course clout is currency. Let players grow fake IG/TikTok-like followings through viral stunts, live-streamed crimes, or wild moments captured in-game. Maybe going viral unlocks exclusive brand deals or side gigs. It's GTA meets influencer culture—and it could be hilarious . Things We NEED In GTA VI.. 5. Vice City Property Flipping GTA 6 could bring back property management — but with style. Buy cheap motels in Port Gellhorn, renovate strip clubs in Little Haiti, or run shady Airbnbs in the Keys. Stack cash, upgrade properties, and deal with… unusual tenants. It's a chill grind with big-time returns. 6. Vice City's Underground Fight Clubs Lucia's trained to fight. So where's the underground scene? Picture illegal fight clubs under strip clubs or abandoned warehouses. Bet on yourself. Climb the ranks. Earn respect. The combat system in GTA needs a glow-up anyway—this could be a fire way to do it. Side activities are what turn GTA from a one-and-done story into a sandbox of infinite chaos . If Rockstar leans into variety, depth, and a little bit of madness, GTA 6 might be the most replayable game in history. Let's hope they bring the heat—and the weird. Diana Penty recalls being catcalled and elbowed in Mumbai trains during her college days: ‘It would scare me'

Actor Diana Penty recently opened up about how she was catcalled while travelling to college by local train. In an interview with Hauterrfly, the actor revealed how people used to elbow her during her commute and recalled facing body-shaming for being too skinny. (Also Read: Imtiaz Ali dropped Diana Penty from Ranbir Kapoor's Rockstar after 3 weeks of workshop; actor says 'he felt I wasn't…') Diana Penty recalls facing body shaming for being too skinny. When asked whether she had ever been touched inappropriately while travelling on a bus or in a crowd, Diana said, "I think every girl in Bombay has gone through this. To go to college, St Xavier's, I used to take the train—the central line from Byculla to VT—and then walk to college. There's catcalling, and people try to elbow you. It became a part of daily life. I was a very shy, underconfident, conscious and awkward girl. I would go into a shell. It would scare me. I didn't have the confidence to elbow back." Diana also recalled that from the time she was a child up until around six or seven years ago, she was skinny and faced body-shaming. "It scarred me. You're a child, and if people keep telling you, 'Oh, you're so skinny, you don't eat?' And some aunties would go up to my mother and say this. She used to get so irritated—like why wouldn't I feed my child? As a child, you start becoming conscious of the fact that you're too skinny. It was awful." She shared that her mother once took her to a paediatric dietician, who advised her to feed Diana six bananas a day—though she only managed four—and still, nothing changed. Diana revealed that she has spent her life trying to gain weight and not be as skinny. She recalled that she didn't use to wear sleeveless clothes and would keep layering up to fit in with others. Diana Penty's recent and upcoming films Diana is currently seen in the movie Detective Sherdil, which also stars Diljit Dosanjh, Boman Irani, Chunky Panday, and Banita Sandhu in lead roles. The film is available to stream on ZEE5. She will next be seen in Section 84, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles. The release date for the film is yet to be announced.
